The Chalet was wonderful and the views were amazing. We were gifted with about 6 inches of fresh snow on top of the 2' already on the ground for our ski trip which made it perfect. We visited Schuss and Nubs Nob. There is ample room for 10 people if you want to double up in beds or 6 beds total. The cabin is decorated nicely. I love the old ski decorations and the prints. The satelite was nice to have and the DVD collection was ample (love me some James Bond). The only thing I would add is that if you are going to do alot of cooking (which we do), bring mixing bowls, electric mixer and your own crock pot etc. The previous guests left alot of condiments, popcorn, coffee, spices, pop and adult beverages of various flavors to greet us. That was very nice to find after a long drive. Heed the warning about AWD or 4WD. The road can be difficult, but my AWD had no problems. The drive was plowed the morning after the main snow came.

Ski Trip in February

We had a group of people from Chicago and Detroit come out for a ski trip, and this place was perfect. You definitely need 4 wheel drive, or else you will get stuck on the road to the cabin. The cabin is located at the end of a quiet road, with spectacular views and plenty of deer to see. The cabin is modern, with lots of natural lighting, very clean and organized and everyone slept very well. There is food left in the fridge from previous tenants, and we had over-shopped, so we left a few things that may come handy for the next tenants. The price is perfect when split amongst a group, and Shanty Creek and Bellaire are just minutes away.

Peaceful and Serene

Spent a weekend here with a group of friends for our annual northern trip. The home was spacious and everyone had their own space. The home was pretty clean and there were plenty of supplies. We really enjoyed being in a secluded area that was very close to Shanty Creek. It was recommnended that you have all-wheel drive but if you're going in the winter, it should be changed to required. There are many steep, curvy hills to get to the home and we got stuck after it snowed the first night. There was one TV in the home that only had two channels and the stereo system didn't work which prevented us from watching movies. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay!
Owner's Response: We recommend all wheel or front wheel drive in the rental contract for winter conditions and in the email confirming the rental. We plan on having Dish Service in the future and the sound system is operation now.

Fun place to stay!!!

It is a really cozy and clean place!! Really nice view on the top of the hill!! The house owner is really kind and nice. He is willing to help us! We had so much fun stay at this place!! We will definitely want to stay there again if we have chance!!

Our stay was nothing short of spectacular. You have a beautiful home (we all LOVED the glassed wall and cathedral ceilings). The fire warmed up the main space beautifully and efficiently; we appreciated that although your home felt spacious, it was cozy enough that noone was ever out of earshot; the natural light the home allowed for made mornings easy and inviting; the surround sound was indeed amazing and made our movie viewing feel like a theater experience; and the area around the home is quiet and most definitely beautiful (especially after a fresh fall of snow). And the skiing--wow! What a thrill--but that's the last time I go down a slope titled "Surprise"! Surprise indeed it was and our excursion to Schuss made for some hilarious stories at dinner.

Great experience. A modern, comfortable Chalet in a secluded setting yet close to all activities. We woke to deer playing almost every morning in the adjoining glen. We saw wild turkeys courting and strutting from the front windows. I am looking forward to our return soon. Joe Moore

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that the house was absolutely amazing and we had the best time. The yearly family tradition has begun. Everyone loved the snow. My 5 year old went to ski school twice and was skiing down the mountain by the end of the week. We also went tubing, dog sledding, and snowmobiling. Really enjoyed having a house to return to at the end of the day!
