Great Florida Hide-away!

A friend and I spent three days and two nights in Coconut Moon, the 2/2 house. What a fun, relaxed, tropical paradise! It might seem crazy to go to a Florida fishing village in August, but I've never had a better vacation. The house was bright, airy, clean, and well furnished. There was even fresh fruit in the kitchen, and a personal note from the owners. I could see the water from my bedroom window. Although there's no beach, there is plenty to do. Fernando's has kayaks and an easy way to get them into the water. My friend and I (and we're no kayak experts!) paddled to breakfast one morning! Yummy breakfast, do it yourself coffee. Wish I could remember the name of the restaurant! The local bar, Bert's, served up a live band and a full cast of local characters for memorable night time entertainment. I also had great food at the Pizza Bella. I even spent an afternoon exploring nearby Pine Island. Another plus: Matlacha has lots of galleries with local art and crafts, and friendly proprietors. Everyone I met was so down to earth and genuine, including Anna Demeo, one of Fernando's owners. I'd stay at Fernando's again in a heartbeat, and I'd love to take my family there and rent the whole complex!
