Breathtaking Villa - Spectacular Wedding

Just recently a group of 50 people attended the most beautiful destination wedding that any parent or couple could ever wish for. Twenty two of the guests stayed for an entire week at Villa Puesta del Sol. This beautiful Villa not only served as a wonderful accomodation for the guests but also as the perfect venue for the rehearsal dinner and wedding reception. Guests were truly "blown away" with their accomodations. Plenty of space to accommodate our large group; bedrooms were beautifully decorated; attactive tropical landscaping....and an unforgettable view overlooking the the Bay of Papagayo. The food, drink and service was outstanding. The informal setting for meals was wonderful. Management and staff willingly took on additional responsiblities to assist the parents, bride and groom to make this event a truly unforgettable experience. They succeeded !! Management and staff were accommodating, pleasant and friendly and always seemed like part of our family and friends. We highly recommend Villa Puesta del Sol, their management and staff.

Villa Puesta del Sol vacation review

Our visit to Villa Puesta del Sol was an incredible vacation experience from start to finish. The accommodations are perfect for large groups and families. We had @18 in our group and we had more than enough room in every area of the property. Common areas are artfully appointed and designed for comfort and relaxation. Bedrooms are spacious, comfortable, and decorated with plenty of nice touches. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating and thinking of everything to make our stay perfect. Meal and beverage service was out of this world! Lots of fresh seafood, the works for breakfast, and fresh guacamole and margaritas every afternoon. We had most of our meals on property but made several excursions into a nearby town and a wonderful beach side bar and grill. Everything is close, safe, and picturesque. Nothing negative to report other than the five pounds put on during the stay. I would highly recommend working with the property owner on a vacation to Villa Puesta del Sol and hope to return one day.

My family could not have been happier at Playa Ocotal! We had everything provided for us that one can imagine. The staff was always available and so happy to provide what we needed. The food was freshly prepared, our rooms were extremely clean and spacious. Best of all, we came to enjoy being with great friends and thanks to the ease of Playa Ocotal, this vacation surpassed anything we dreamed of!

Awesome Vacation!!

My husband and I got married at this villa in Oct of 2008. It was amazing. Everything was beautiful, food was delicious, staff was very friendly. The whole trip exceeded our expectations. It was very easy to plan this trip/wedding-Ila made it so easy! We had 30+ guests and they all said this was the best trip- beautiful place, beautiful villa, friendly people. The staff helped us plan activities (surfing, deep sea fishing, ect) and arranged for all the transportation and anything else we needed. I would recommend this trip to anyone.

Villa Puesta del Sol - A Dreamy Vacation Location!

Villa Puesta del Sol was an amazing place to spend a week with our extended family! There were plenty of bedrooms to give everyone their own space to get away, and the expansive common space gave us ample room to congregate. We loved the open-air atmosphere, the outdoor eating arrangement, and the tremendous views of the ocean and lush surrounding landscape. The pool and jacuzzi were wonderful, and it was so nice having them close to the living space.
Our group ranged in age from a baby less than 2 months to a great-grandmother in her upper 80s. We ALL had a wonderful time! Some of us stayed at the villa for nearly the entire week, while others of us explored and had our fill of adventure. For all, it was a Costa Rican paradise! The house staff made this a true vacation! Our laundry was done for us daily, our rooms were always clean, and three delicious meals were served each day. The food was absolutely fresh and delicious, and we all enjoyed the local cuisine. I have never felt so doted upon!
I hope that I will be so blessed as to someday have a return trip to Costa Rica and Villa Puesta del Sol!

Over priced for dead bugs

Celebrating my 60th birthday with family and friends...looking forward to a pristine house and was a little disappointed in the upkeep of the house. Maybe there were no guests in the house for a while but any appliance that we needed to use we had to scrub out due to the cobwebs, live bugs / dead bugs in it. Dead and alive bugs in kitchen cabinets/drawers. I realize this is the rainforest but would think pest control could be utilized inside the house.
The fridge in the kitchen had leftovers in it in containers as well as fruit just sitting in fridge. We bought disinfecting wipes to clean the kitchen counters so we could cook.
Never did get WIFI reception on our laptops...manager was kind enough after 4 days of begging them to fix to leave his own laptop for our use...that was great other than the folks who needed their personal programs for business correspondence.
Some fixtures in bathrooms would fall off wall, cabinet doors off hinges....that was wear and tear I realize but for the money I was expecting PRISTINE condition in this house.
Air conditioning in main room did not work but was fixed a few days later...then we could not control the airflow or temperature so it would be freezing in this main room.
Hot tub worked most of time but not daily.
Would not rent from this group again for fear of poor conditions for the money. I had requested a refund of sorts and was told there would be none.
Rent another house!!!
