Loved this Peaceful Cabin!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Hucks Hideway! The setting was perfect for what we needed....beautiful area, peaceful and tranquil. The cabin was clean and well stocked with anything you could have asked for. The azaleas were in full bloom when we arrived and the place was gorgeous! My husband loved the lake and caught a couple of nice-sized bass from his kayak. I did a little fishing from the dock, but my favorite place was the rocking chairs on the screened porch. What a wonderful place to sit with a first cup of coffee in the mornings and listen to all the birds!! We loved the fire-pit, but due to some cooler weather, didn't get a chance to try it out. The owner was truly a delight to work with, and due to our circumstances, went above and beyond what you would expect in order to make our trip a memorable one!! We would definitely recommend Hucks Hideway to anyone looking to relax in a beautiful and peaceful setting. Thank you, Julie, for sharing this wonderful place with us!!!

After surviving Superstorm Sandy in my home state of NJ, followed by the hustle and bustle of a metropolitan holiday season, I was looking forward to "getting away from it all" in a peaceful, natural environment. Hucks Hideaway was just the ticket. It was like having my own personal lakeside cabin complete with all the amenities I'd have in my own home, not to mention the many personal touches provided by the property owners. I was able to enjoy the solitude without interruption, reading, sitting outside by the lake, and savoring the sights and sounds of nature, while having the option of pursuing more conventional entertainment just a modest drive away. All transactions between myself and the owner were handled proficiently with a touch of country charm, and the rates were extremely reasonable. This was an infinitely more relaxing experience than checking into a motel, or even a resort, for a week. Definitely a do again!

We had a great time at Huck's. Morning coffee on the screened porch watching the sun come up...and watching it go down off the dock. Cabin was rustic and cozy and a great place to settle in after fishing all day. We cooked (grilled) out on the deck every night. Sights and sounds were wonderful. We are looking forward to visiting again soon. Thanks again for the wine and gift you left for us honeymooners...We loved your place...

We had a great time at the cabin. It was nice sitting on the porch at sundown, and for morning coffee. The view of the lake was awesome. It was relaxing and we enjoyed walking the dock and fishing. We look forward to planning our next trip.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Huck's Hideaway. The cabin was cozy and inviting. The views of the lake were amazing! We were wanting to find a place that was pet friendly, since we were bringing our two year old beagle with us. Huck's fit the bill perfectly.

The weather was all over the place you all were able to enjoy Seminole State Park and get a day trip in to Panama City Beach, FL. My dad and I had so much fun together,we fished alot and slept alot and spent alot of time on the porch and talking to each other.He caught 3 really nice bass and I caught around 15-20 bluegill.We had a wonderful time,Cant wait to go back again.Thank you for shareing such a great place(Rabbit feed does wonders to bring the fish in) Thanks so much.Shelly and Shelvie

We had a great time at Hucks,we caught alot of fish off the pier.We threw out rabbit feed and within 24 hours the fish were biting like crazy.We had so much fun and we cant wait to come back to Hucks.So Peaceful.We loved it.Thanks so much for sharing yalls hideaway.Great memories.

Wonderful Weekend!

We chose Huck's to celebrate our Anniversary, and we are so glad that we did. We had some personal complications that prevented us from going on our originally planned weekend, but Julie is so sweet and worked with us to re-arrange our stay.
When we finally arrived we were so enchanted by how serene and quaint it is at Huck's; the pictures just don't do it justice! During our extended weekend stay we got in some fishing off of the private pier, went hiking and visited the nearby Florida Caverns. There is a surprising amount of wildlife that you can see there. In a tree next to the beautiful porch, there was both a Cardinal and a Thrush for all you bird lovers out there. Every night we built a little fire (thanks Julie, for making sure that we had firewood!). We even had a lovely bottle of wine just waiting for us when we arrived.
This was a truly great stay and Julie makes staying here even more comfortable!

Our weekend at Hucks

When Pam and I arrived at the cabin it was instant peace and serenity for the both of us! Getting away from pretty high stress jobs and coming here was the best idea for us both!! not to mention i wanted to do something very special for her birthday.I had spoke to Julie and she offered her services to help create this b-day get-away for Pam! When we walked in and the beautiful flower arrangement that she created was sitting on the coffee table I could see the absolute Love of my life just melt and hold back the tears ( of joy ) .We had no agenda,no time to be here or go there!! just relax and and be together with no interruptions!! Julie i do want to thank you for your input on a nice restaurant, we did spend an evening at " The Pond House " and the steaks were great and the atmosphere was perfect !!! Hucks Hideway is as you can see from being there is decorated with passion and care!!! I will recommend and give email addy to Hucks to my friends and the men and woman who work for me ( part of me wants to be selfish and keep it to ourselves ) My mother and sister are coming from texas in July and we plan to stay at the other cabin "Southern Comfort " but as for Pam and myself Hucks is our getaway !!!! Thank you Julie, and we so look forward to our next stay!!!!!!

AWESOME - VERY NICE

My wife and I recently traveled to Southern Georgia to see family for Easter and stayed at Huck's Hideaway. Very nice!!! The pictures hide nothing - it is as nice down there as the pictures show.
Perfect get away place. One morning in particular we enjoyed watching a water lily open from the bud to a full bloom all in the time we were on the dock. The "natural" orchestra from the lake (frogs, etc singing us to sleep) was the best. We just sit on the screened in porch with the lights out and a few candles lit and enjoyed.
Hopefully when we get ready to head south again - Huck's Hideaway will be available for us to rent. If not, we just might have to schedule our vacation around the cabin's availability.
