Absolutely The Best

What a joy!!! This is not a "typical" rental house. It's really a very comfortable home with lots of character & everything you need plus a wonderful collection of books, DVDs, & artwork from around the world. The kitchen is set up for folks who like to cook & includes good appliances & even a waffle iron (yum!). Five of us & a dog spent nearly a week there in January, 2009, & had a marvelous time...From the hot tub you can see thousands of stars. And the owner is special too..a loving, caring person who welcomed us from the moment we wrote to her. We will return. Thanks, Sara!

Truly Idyllic

This house is the perfect retreat to the country. My husband, dog, and I were there for 4 days and loved every moment. The open floor plan with the large kitchen was great, and the fireplace was so lovely. The dog had more enclosed space to run than he ever had before. It was a weekend away I know we hope to have again.

Fathers 60th Celebration

Our family spent a long weekend here and it was just perfect. "The Blizzard of 2013" was in full effect so we arrived earlier, hit the grocery store, lit a fire and spent priceless time with family. The house was perfect and beyond clean to the point where we joked if anyone had actually ever cooked in the kitchen. We were about a 5-7 minute drive to town and would recommend this home to anyone looking to get away from the city to spend some quality time in the country. We will definitely be back!

A very special weekend celebration

My husband and I chose this property to spend a long weekend with my parents celebrating my dad's milestone birthday. We had a blast! Just roaming around the beautiful property, watching the sunrise and sunset over the hills, was magnificent. The house was clean, cozy and perfect for two couples. We spent a lot of time sitting around the long family-style dining room table eating, playing cards, and enjoying the view. We also had a glorious time hiking the local trails, riding bikes and exploring the surrounding towns. There's plenty to do - we visited the Roosevelt estate, played golf, wandered around the local shops and spent time in quite a few of the amazing restaurants in Rhinebeck. The house was the perfect distance. Sara was amazing - she was super responsive and helpful, giving us great ideas for things to do, and provided fantastic restaurant recommendations. A perfect, fun, relaxing weekend!

Perfect

The home was perfect. There isn't anything that I can think of that was missing or could have been improved upon. It felt like home with all the items necessary to make it convenient and no extra clutter. It was truly a 5 minute drive into town where it was great to get a bite and stroll around, yet, once you were at the house the view allowed you to feel as if you were miles away from everything. I was there with my family, from my mother to my children and it was comfortable for all of us. Sara was so easy and gracious to work with. The weekend was in honor of my son's wedding and it was truly stress free. Thank you. We look forward to going back.

Just perfect. Great location, comfortable, secure, attractive, extensive grounds, rural yet close to restaurants, entertainment, country walks. Dog was in heaven. Very peaceful.

We had a great stay. The house is beautiful.The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking but we did take some of the recommendations in the book. We visited several of the restaurants and were not disappointed. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.

Weekend getaway

This place was perfect for my needs of a relaxing place out of the city. The grounds are very well kept so the large acreage did not look sloppy at all. It was very comfortable to have lunch on the patio, watch movies in the evening (due to the rain) and ride bikes to the farmer market in town the next day. Rhinebeck is a very cute town that was easily accessible via commuter bike and quite roads. My small dog loved running around the property with plenty of land to explore. I would recommend this to any family who wants to get away!
