Clean! Clean! Clean! Quiet! Quiet! Quiet!
If you want total comfort, peace, and quiet;this is the place for you. This Condo definitely has a feng shui feel to it.I have never slept in a more comfortable bed (in a rental) than when we put the two trundles together and topped them with my memory foam.( It goes with me whenever we travel) It made a KING sized bed( keep that in mind for sheet size) . My son and daughter-in- law were thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness of the condo as well as the comfort level of their accommodations. (They took the master bedroom) The view and relaxation from the side deck is incredible on a sunny day, but is just as relaxing and beautiful in the wee hours of the morning when the sun is risng or in the evening as it is setting. If you plan to eat in, the kitchen is very well stocked with anything you need for the occasion. Unfortunately, the lack of a phone was a tremendous inconvenience for us since our particular cell service did not work on the Nubble; and that was a great disappointment because we could not communicate with other family members who were also vacationing in York, nor could we stay connected to my elderly parents back home. Any time we needed to communicate with anyone, we had to get into our vehicle and drive toward town for a signal. We even lost signals from my son's verizon service. Therefore, since connectivity is essential for us, this rental would not work for us in the future. I would not recommend this Condo to anyone who plans on "partying;" as there are strict rules associated with this rental. That worked in our favor because we like peace and quiet that results from strict rules. Also,I would ONLY recommend it to people who plan on treating this place as if it were their own; because, the expectations of this owner is that it remain in its PRISTINE condition from one set of renters to the next. So if you are sloppy, clumsy, loud, or you have an "I don't care attitude" about a rental; do not apply because(unlike most rentals) this one has very specific rules to follow. When/ how to shut the windows properly, how to shower with minimal water seepage, how to open/ close the blinds, where to hang towels, etc. Since it is not a stand alone vacation property, we were concerned about the neighbors, but, as a matter of fact, one came to our rescue and offered her own grill when we could not get ours to work adequately.
Cable TV service is very basic;so rainy days could be boring.Bring DVD's.
Owner's Response: Yes, this rental is everything a renter could dream of as far as cleanliness, peace, quiet, serinity, comfort, amenities and most of all breathtaking panaramic views of the ocean and its surroundings, morning noon and evening. I have just purchased this condo last fall and want everyone to enjoy everything I have to offer. I take great pride in making it as special as I can for renters. I visit the condo every week after it is professionally cleaned to make sure everything works and it is enjoyable for everyone who arrives. Sometimes due to weather or other conditons out of my control during the week I have a maintance service to call if anything is needed by the renter. I sometimes stay and greet the renters. Yes, there are rules to every home to keep it nice for others. I do believe renters work very hard to save to go on vacation to have a nice place to go too. In order for this to happen from renter to renter I ask that they treat the condo as if it were their own property.
As far a cell phone service which is used 95% of the time when renting it would be adviseable to contact your local cell phone service to see what service works in the area. I have Verizon service myself and it works fine and others who have rented have Verizon or ATT and have had no problem. As we all know sometimes with a cell phone you lose service in your home from one room to the other.
Recently I have found that T-Mobile does not have towers close enough for good reception. As far as providing a land line phone I have found that it is not cost effective when renting. I have found that most renters inquire about wireless internet for connection to their friends or workplace. That does not mean if you have a service that does not work that you have to be without service. Their are local cell phone providers in the area that can provide trac phones for the week. As you read some of the advise in this review that this condo may not be suitable for every generation. It is a wonderful getaway for the elders, evening concerts outside in the evening and the Quiquit Playhouse nearby. For a girl's get away, plenty of shopping outlets nearby. Families with small children great beaches, arcades nearby. Couples traveling together for a great get away, plenty of fine restaurants and entertainment nearby. As far as traveling with some teanagers this may not be suitable if they prefer loud or late activities.
Weather can always be a factor and TV is basic Bring DVD's

Secret Hideaway

JasN Somerville, MA
Review Submitted: March 19, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
I've now stayed at this condo for two separate weekends and I enjoy it more and more each time. With ocean and rocky coastline views, this is the perfect place to just get away for a little rest and relaxation. The condo was impeccably clean and well kept and my wife and I have no complaints at all. This condo is centrally located in York and is very conveniently located close to great dining, shopping, sightseeing. I look forward to going back for years to come.
Owner's Response: Hi Jim andn Sue Thank you for coming back again. I am so glad you enjoyed it again. I hope you can come back again in the summer months. It is truly breathtaking.
The opening of theatre is coming soon Oginuit Playhouse is 10 minutes away great theatre. Seacoast Repretory in Portsmouth N. H. is wonderful and the Portland Symphony is spectuclar. We have Saturday and Sunday concerts at Short Sands and many wonderful other activites Thanks Judy

New Year's Eve at this condo was the PERFECT place to ring in 2009! The views from the living room, dining area and kitchen were breathtaking and the condo was just immaculately clean! The condo was fully equiped with everything we could have needed or wanted (clean towels, sheets, blankets; kitchen gadgets, serving platters, pots/pans, dishes, etc.). The master bedroom was a very impressive size and had lots of empty drawers and closet space for us to put our things. The condo is VERY comfortable! We even loved all of the holiday decorations and touches the owner used. The 2 bathrooms were very helpful and very clean (as we had 4 people staying in the condo). Watching the sunrise from the living room was just as breathtaking as watching the sunset from the living room (we also watched that from the Nubble Lighthouse). We loved being minutes within beaches, restaurants, bars, and shopping! We already booked our next weekend get away at this same condo for next month! The stereo, tv, dvd player, games, snacks were great touches! We love this condo and would highly recommend staying there!
Owner's Response: I am so pleased that so many have loved my new condo. I find it as breathtaking as others have said before. I hope others like yourself will come an enjoy this little gem by the ocean. I try to make it feel as comfortable as possible. There are just times we need to relax and enjoy peace. It is so nice to just look out the living room windows and see the lobster boats coming in to pick up their traps. But within walking distance you have two beachs Long Sands and Short Sands. I know you came in the winter but if you have time to come in the summer York makes it a special place with concerts in the evening and strolls by bugging ride. You really don't have to leave York. Restuarants are great and plentiful. But if you enjoy the theatre Porstmouth N.H is 15 minutes away and Portland a short distance has the Symphony. Judy

Review Submitted: January 5, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying in this condo with another couple over New Years. Despite very cold temps, the condo stayed very warm and all amenities were superb and clean. The condo is spacious and has incredable views of the Atlantic Ocean and Nubble Light house which is walking distance down the road. Would definetly recomend this for any couple looking to get away with some friends or by themselves winter or summer for peaceful get away.

Owner's Response: I am so glad I had the opportunity to share this wonderful condo with lovely couples. The condo is great in the summer and winter. The views are specutular of the Ocean, and Shoals Island from the living room and the Nubble Light House from the dining area. The condo is a short walk to two beaches Long Sands and Short Sands. The harbour is a 5 minute drive and breathtaking. There are two malls 10 minutes away and Kittery Outlets 15 minutes from the condo. The grounds are spacious at the condo so the condo is ideal for everyone. The condo is also handicap accessible Thank You for Coming Welcome back another time. Judy .

Wonderful Nubble Weekend

Sandy in CT New Fairfield, CT 06812
Review Submitted: December 17, 2008 Date of Stay: December 2008
My daughter and I have always wanted to see the Nubble lit up for Christmas. We booked this condo so we could see the lighthouse from a warm and cozy vantage point - we were not disappointed.

This condo has an ideal view of the Nubble plus a breathtaking view of the ocean. Sunrises on the ocean inspire awe.

The condo's decor is new and homey, plus the owner had added some delightful Christmas touches. It is immaculate and comfortable. You need only bring food. We arrived at the tail end of the ice storm that shut down much of the northeast. We were very lucky to be without power only a short time. The owner was most helpful in keeping us comfortable and informed during that time period.

It is within an easy walk or ride to towns, beaches, stores, restaurants and outlets. This was our first time in Maine in the winter. After the storm the waves were coming up over the road in spots along York Beach. There were surfers out there! It was a totally different Maine than you see in summer, of course. We will do it again.

Our experience was flawless. It was a memorable weekend and my daughter (age 23) and I wholeheartedly recommend this property.
Owner's Response: Sandy and Lindsay It was a pleasure to have you enjoy my gem by the ocean. I am so glad I was able to make this a pleasurable weekend even though we had the worst ice storm in history. I know you came a long way to see the Nubble lit up at Christmas. As I said before you came it is wonderful to be able to see the Nubble full view from my condo. I hope you come again. Judy
