Great location, immaculate apartment!

My husband and I stayed in this 1 BR 1 Bath apartment the first week in September 2009. Locals and tourists were both jealous when they heard we were staying in North Beach. Its the perfect location to walk to everything with a cable car stop nearby (Powell Hyde or Powell Mason). We could walk to Fishermans Wharf via the Filbert Street Steps (a must do!) or anywhere else we wanted to. Don't be concerned that it is not air conditioned, open the windows and the bay breeze is fabulous especially since this is a 2nd floor apt. Safe neighborhood, locked gate apt building. Cute kitties to look at on the roof next door! Walk to tons of North Beach restaurants in 5-10 minutes...we hit Sodinis, Cafe Divine, North Beach Pizza (they deliver but are literally a block away if you want to pick up!), Sushi on North Beach, and Melt (fondue-yum!). Perfect stay here!

Just back from a two week stay ( July 2009 ) and have no complaints whatsoever. Lovely clean apartment with all mod. cons you should require. Would go back again as I can't imagine you could get better value anywhere. NIce location and convenient for travel around San Francisco.

Great Rental

I just got back from a fantastic vacation with my husband and 2 year old daughter. The apartment was a great base for exploring San Francisco. We had a car but most of the major sights are within walking distance and North Beach is a great area for restaurants, cafes, etc. The Home Away listing is very accurate. The apartment is clean and well-equipped. I would definitely recommend staying at 2 Genoa Place to my friends and family.

Great apartment, great location

This apartment is great, the location is almost perfect, very close to the Coit Tower, Downtown is in walking distance and Lombard St too. I came from Paris, France with my son and my nephew and we really had a wonderful experience here. Nathalie, the owner, is a charming person and kindly answered all our questions.
I can only recommand this apartment, way cheaper and more convenient than the hotel. It's my second experience with Home Away and I've never been disappointed.

An Excellent Spot!

I had a wonderful stay here in Spring 2008. It was my first time securing a rental online and Nathalie made it extremely easy. The apartment was impeccably clean and it had everything I needed - from dishes to a coffee maker - with freshly ground coffee waiting for me. There are great restaurants and shops nearby - including delicious mochas and pastries at Caffee Trieste. You can easily walk to other spots such as the Ferry Building, Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square, the Marina, and public transportation is close by as well. The bed was very comfortable and the apartment even has a great view of SF from the kitchen. Highly recommended!!

I left my heart in San Francisco...

I left my heart in San Francisco and in this fantastic apartment at 2 Genoa Place. A very gracious apartment with all the comforts that you would ever need. Very clean and organized in all ways. Nathalie and her husband are very charming and always available for anything you might require. North Beach of course is a splendid area with so many places to eat and have drinks and just to stroll around. I highly recommend this location and the next time I travel to San Francisco I will certainly return to this rental property. Thanks again!

A wonderful base for San Francisco visit

Review Submitted: October 15, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
We did not bring a car, so we were delighted to be able to walk and occasionally take a taxi (we are in our 60s). We were amazed to find ourselves truly at the base of Coit Tower, with views in all directions. The apartment was very clean and very quiet. The landlady was pleasant, helpful and easy to reach. We felt that we had found the best possible situation for visiting San Francisco.

Genoa Place/Union St

Review Submitted: October 14, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
This apartment is situated at the Telegraph Hill end of Union St and is well situated in the city. One way is Union Square /Market St and the other way is Fishermans Wharf. So very well located. A car is still needed however and it was excellent having the convenience of a garage. The apartment is clean and nicely decorated but very small. While the advertisement says sleeps 3 this is stretching it. Two of us stayed in the one bedroom apartment for 2 weeks and the apartment was too tiny for this length of time. It would not have been possible for 3 people to live in the apartment. The kitchen utensils and appliances are barely adequate and it is not accurate to say that the kitchen table seats 4. More likely 2 people. The owner provided efficient and prompt customer service which was required for internet and cable TV problems. I fell down the stairs due to the stair lighting coming on too late at night. We also endeavored to move into the apartment a night earlier than the booking and even though we were leaving a night earlier than the booking we were asked to pay an extra fee which was disappointing. Really enjoyed being able to walk to the Stinking Rose and Trattoria Contadina restaurants but do book first and use the apartment phone for this purpose which was very convenient. Also lots of nail salons very conveniently situated
