Our month in Hawaii
First off I have to start with Mahalo nui loa to Debbie! You were so easy going and made our stay a great success. All transactions were a breeze, emails were wikiwiki, and to top it off, Debbie is a real ku'uipu! We had a great time and the condo has got to have the best view in the whole complex. It was perfect for us.
My criteria for a condo:
I had to be able to see the ocean from the kitchen and living area. Check!( And can see pool and tennis court from lanai)
It had to have 2 bathrooms. (Yep)
Condo had to have its own washer and dryer. (Very nice and dries super fast.)
Had to be close enough for a short walk to beach. (Check. 5 min max)
Condo had to have a/c (for those times when breeze is not flowing and I am cooking). (A/C works super fast.)
The Maui Vista condo is situated in THE BEST building on the top floor so you have spectacular view of the ocean. You can also see the sun come up over Haleakala and you can watch it set over the west Maui mountains. The breeze is so nice especially if you open the condo door. Master bed is very comfy, twin beds upstairs are ok comfy but we put the comforter under the sheet for extra padding. Condo had plenty of towels, washcloths, hand towels, and kitchen essentials (could use a few more dish towels and teaspoons), and everything works. Maui Vista is quiet, kept up, and nice grounds. Buying food: Costco for fish, don't buy from Eskimo candy-way to $$. Walmart is NOT a super store. They have some food but no fresh foods. Cheap eats: Da Kitchen, and for excellent service Maui BBQ in Kihei, and **Aloha Mixed Plate**in Lahaina- we give them a ONO! they share the same kitchen w/ the Old Lahaina Luau. We went to Denney's in Kihei 2x and service is terrible. Same for the one in Kahului, we stood waiting 5 min and never seated so we left. No wonder the place is always empty. Cinnamon roll place in Kihei made both my hubby and daughter sick. Good place to snorkel is Po'olenalena Beach between Wailea and Makena or Honolua Bay, don't waste your $ on Molokini, all you see is little black fish, some coral and a lot of people. If you like history, visit the Lahaina Heritage Mus. in the Old Lahaina court house. This was our 2nd time staying in this condo. Pics don't do the view justice. We rented this condo from Aug 30-Sept 29, 2013. Debbie, A hui hou! If you ever think about selling, keep me in mind.
