Wonderful New England getaway

We have rented this spectacular log home two years in a row. It is the quintessential New Hampshire vacation experience with many small stores selling locally produced items ranging from cheeses to crafts; our favorites are The Brick Store and Harman's Cheese and Country Store (be sure to bring cash if you're an AMEX point junkie because they don't take American Express). It is secluded but just a short drive away from many hiking and skiing trails in Franconia Notch State Park - be sure to check out the Basin Trail. The home itself is very clean and has high end appliances in the kitchen, a pool table, gas grill and a great overall decor. The owner is an absolute joy to deal with, very professional and does exactly what is expected. We are planning to go again next year - which is the best review we can write.
Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write such a fine review. We've enjoyed having you both as our guests and look forward to your staying again.

We just came back from our fun filled vacation in New Hampshire. Thank you, Beth for letting us stay at your beautiful cabin. The place was very clean and well taking care of. It was very spacious so our 18 month daughter had plenty of room to run around. I would highly recommend this place for a great vacation.
Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us. And a huge thank you for taking such great care of our vacation home. You are a member of our Gold Star guests! We hope you will stay again.

The Best Vacation!

Thank you Beth for sharing your beautiful home with us. Every detail of the house is just perfect as it is light-filled, warm and welcoming. The listing described it perfectly but it was even better than we could have expected. We awoke each morning well rested and embraced all the beauty of the flower filled yard. I loved cooking in the kitchen and all appliances were a dream to use (Oh that stove!) We cherished the quiet days and the star filled night skies. We found so much to do in the area. We purchased cheese from the farmer down the road, attended a town fair, went on a moose hunt ( with our camera) in Lincoln, visited Mt. Washington, and hiked in Franconia Notch State Park. We fell in love with the town of Littleton and especially enjoyed the food co-op. We were so sad to leave but hope to visit again as soon as we can. Many thanks for sharing your wonderful home with us.
Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind words. It is amazing how much there is to do in the White Mountains! If you would like to share your moose pictures we'd love to see them.

Both of would like to thank Beth for allowing us to stay at her wonderful log cabin it was an excellent property with everything we would have wanted. Everything was of the highest quality, well maintained and clean.
The peace and tranquility of the area along with the luxury of the cabin was very soothing especially after flying in from the UK.
This was a wonderful place to base ourselves whilst traveling as far as Derby in Vermont or just staying locally and visiting the candy store and diner in Littleton.
We would also like to point out that all of our dealings with Beth were a pleasure from first booking to adding an extra day, thank you Beth.
We will definitely be staying here again when we come back to the states in the future and we cannot recommend the cabin highly enough or the enjoyment we had there.

Beth, I'm not sure how to write this without sounding rather gushy, but we simply LOVED our vacation in your beautiful home. We all agreed that we've never had a vacation where all of us had such a good time. We fell in love with the white mountains region. We've been vacationing in Southern NH for years, and love that area too (near Mt. Monadnock) but entirely fell under the spell of the white mountains and the beautiful towns, including Landaff and Sugar Hill and Lisbon.

We did so many terrific things [we were there for the superb hiking], and I finally got to go to Dog Mountain, which was on my 'bucket list' -- it was so moving, and exceeded my expectations.

Your home is so beautiful and so well kept -- we were honored to stay in it. It was just fantastic to be able to have our dogs there, too. So thank you for trusting us with your lovely home, and for sharing it with others (must be hard to do).
We very much appreciated all the detailed information you supplied in the two notebooks.

We were delighted to find "Dog is my copilot" [one of my favorite books] on your shelves, as well as "Swimming to Antartica", which my daughter, a swimmer, had brought along to read. All in all, our stay was just magically perfect. Life doesn't get any better than the time we had in Landaff. It will be a special gem in our family history.

Our relaxing getaway

My wife and I had a very enjoyable week at whispering brook.  The weather was great, your log home was perfect, and the freedom from noisy streets was greatly appreciated.  Even though Jane and I live only 40 minutes away from your log home we enjoyed staying there.  We enjoyed exploring the area around whispering brook, which we were unfamiliar with.  We spent time bike riding and hiking on the roads nearby.  We went over to the notch and although we have been there many times we both saw that area in a different way, almost as if we were not nearby Vermonters.

We would very much recommend your log home get away.  Your home was very welcoming.  It had many new features, very clean, and peaceful.  An excellent get away for those looking to relax, enjoy the company of a loved one, and listen to nature, as everyone should hear it at least once in their lives.  The Robin’s nest with the mother robin tending her eggs was fun to watch. (The nest is located on one of the cabin logs under the covered porch.)

Thank for making this rental a painless process.  Your log is definitely in our future for another rental time.

Thank you Beth and Bob for a wonderful, relaxing week at your home..We skied almost every day (Cannon 30 minutes and Brettonwoods 45 min away), so it was wonderful to come home to such cozy and relaxing accommodations away from it all! Being able to bring our dogs was a key factor for us too. The binder you put together covered every detail of the house as well as great information on local restaurants, farms, etc.. We stocked up at PT Farms with their fabulous local beef! We will be back!

Thanks for letting me visit your home - what a treat! I've now been here in autumn and winter and can't decide which season in your cabin I like better. The cabin is so comfortable: spacious, cozy, well-equipped, with warm decor; it would be hard to not relax here!

The proximity of the White Mountains, including all the parks and trails, is a huge draw. As is the charming town of Littleton.

This winter visit I was treated to lots of snow, both existing and extra that came while I was visiting. What a nice way to spend the evening sitting in the living room watching the snow fall. Getting out to do fun activities was really easy from the cabin - nice snowshoeing this winter - and then a great homey place to come back to, especially to relax in front of the wood stove.

Can't wait till I get to come back again. Thanks for having such a great place to visit!

Hello Beth,
First off, I just wanted to tell you, we were very pleased with the accommodations of your beautiful home. It was immaculate very inviting, warm, and just a pleasure to enjoy countless moments with our family. It was absolutely worth the 27 hours we spent driving. We did everything from snow mobiling in the Twin Mountains to just hiking out side in your wooded area. What a beautiful sight when covered with glossy ice and snow. Just Amazing what nature can do! But most importantly, we were able to relax. We have already decided we may want to start a yearly tradition.

We spent our holidays in this loghome on October 2010 and it was a great pleasure to stay in a so lovely and quiet place. The loghome is fully equiped and looks like the pictures we have seen on this website. We spent our time on walking on trails in the White Mountains, on eating in very nice restaurants in Littleton (thank you for your precious binder !) and on reading in the loghome. We enjoyed our vacation in New Hampshire and would likein the future to stay in this loghome in winter.
