We had a wonderful, relaxing and peaceful vacation in this lovely home which is equipped with everything you need (and more). It is located in a quiet neighborhood with beautiful views. We enjoyed relaxing on the upper deck as well as the patio on the lower level which is shaded and protected from the elements. Even on rainy days we enjoyed the outdoors. Would love to come back again!

One of the best week's of our lives!!!

Review Submitted: August 31, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
My Grown Kid's flew in from Texas and DC to spend some quality time together and did we hit on the right house for that!! Autumn Cove is everything it is billed as and MORE! The Owner, Kirk, went out of his way to make sure we had a great time. He was resourceful, and helped us make sure we had everything needed for a great week on the water. We took his advice and rented a fishing pontoon and jet skis from parrot cove rentals in near by Westlake. This house is perfectly located just around the bay from Westlake, so you can get to it in 5 minutes by water and have a great meal. We went striper fishing with the Shad Taxi and had a most memorable day. The greatest thing about this house is that two of us were able to bring our Weimerheimers, and they also had one of the best week's of their lives, swimming off the dock and riding around on the pontoon. To find an Owner that allows pets AND has a great, clean home I'm guessing is pretty hard to come by. It has a good beach, BBQ grill, and everything needed to have a great time. The only thing missing was a wine opener, and it now has that. It also has some items not mentioned for Family's with Kids. He has a highchair, small playpen, and kid's fishing stuff. Give this house a try. I'm betting you will love it!!
Owner's Response: We appreciate having conscientious renters with high standards. We're glad that we were able to meet and exceed their expectations!

Just Right!

This was a very nice property. Plenty of space and nice location. Just as described by the owner. The owner was wonderful in helping us out with every question. Very clean. Right in the middle of it all and close to stores & restaurants. The Kroger's is a great store - no need to pack everything - and their gasoline prices are the best! As far as on the lake, Harrison's Restaurant was good with wonderful outdoor seating. Chop Sticks was very good Chinese food. There is also a good Mexican place on the other end of the lake. If you need to rent a boat or jet ski or get gas, it's just a 3 minute boat ride. Saturday's seemed to be the busiest day on the lake. This is one of the most beautiful lakes that we have ever been on. We boated every day for 4-5 hours and still didn't see everything! Great boating and very beautiful on the area by Smith Mountain and the dam. A must see is in Bedford, VA - the D-Day memorial is unbelievable and very close (25 min.)

Great Memorial Day Weekend

Shared your home with 2 other couples from Greensboro - it suited our needs perfectly. Very spacious and comfortable. Large deck that we used every evening - lovely view of the lake. We had 2 boats with us and the dock was great. Water access great. Played golf at Westlake - lovely course but quite challenging. We truly enjoyed your home - thanks for sharing. Lisa & Group
Owner's Response: Come and enjoy the deck, the view and the lake from a special waterfront home on Smith Mountain Lake.

My family and I have used this rental property for 2 years in a row. It has been perfect for all of us. My husband and I have used the downstairs "suite" to accompany our young son. Everything is comfortable and clean. The directions and information were very helpful to make for wonderful and memorable vacations.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at your home over the Thanksgiving holiday. Your directions were excellent and information about local food stores was appreciated. The weather was a bit warm but perfect for walking and enjoying the serene lake views. The house was in perfect working order and adequate in nearly every way (we didn't locate trash bags under the sink and the fireplace grate was missing). Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit which was enhanced by our brief stay in a lovely home and location.

Just a short note to tell we enjoyed our stay at Autumn Cove immensely. The accommodations were excellent and well equipped. Since we brought our boat, we were very interested in the dock area and it served us well. In fact, we only used our truck once during the entire week because of the convenience of the dock and the proximity to the Bridgewater Marina.
Autumn Cove is convenient, well kept, and situated in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood.
Thanks for helping us have a great time at the most beautiful lake in the Eastern US. Best wishes and we hope to come back again soon.

We really enjoyed our stay at Autumn Cove. It was our first time to Smith
Mountain Lake and we will definitely
be back!!!! Autumn Cove was everything it said it was and more. It was easy to find and located near a public boat launch, (which we needed). I would
definitely recommend this place to anyone!

We just got back from renting Autumn Cove for a week. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is just as advertised. The kids had fun playing the games in the evening and we spent a great amount of time jumping into the lake from the dock. Great family vacation! Thank you, we will consider the same house for next year.
