Durango vacation with kids

Condo exceeded expectations. Perfect for our family of 4. Plenty of room for everyone, kids absolutely loved the spiral staircase and loft. Was nice after being on the road to have the kitchen to cook meals as well as the washer/dryer. Took the kids to the pool and spa at the main resort every evening. Saw group of deer one evening on our way up from the main resort.
Property was convenient to everything that we had planned to do. Looking forward to our next trip up and we would definitely stay again!

We stayed here last summer (2007) and it was perfect. The condo was really nice and the washer/dryer was a bonus. We had so much fun just sitting on the back deck in the morning and watching the birds. Having access to the indoor pool at the resort was a bonus w/ a 4-year old. Great place!

Very nice unit. Well equipped. The owners are very professional and pleasant to work with. One word of caution is that while the the resort does a fair job at clearing the roads after a big snow, this unit may require chains or snow tires to access it. However, it is not far from the amenities listed. Our family had a great stay!

The condo was nice, although the air conditioner was broken and my family and I were pretty miserable at night time. What they don't tell you is that in order to play golf on their prestigious golf course, you have to pay an additional $150 per person plus cart rental, green fees, etc. So if you're going for the golf, you better bring some extra cash. We were very disappointed that even though we told the owners up front that we could only stay 6 nights that we did not get our full deposit back. We explained that we would be driving from Arkansas and needed that extra day for driving time. Everything was all right until we get a letter back from them several weeks after our stay and only partial payment of our deposit. We stay in Durango every year and will not be returining to this place and would not recommend it to anyone either.
Owner's Response: I guess you are bound to have a disatisfied customer eventually. I am very sorry for that and as always will try to keep it from happening again. The rentor did not once contact me with regards to the A/C unit not functioning (I could have gotten it fixed in no time). As a result, I had to interupt another guests stay with repairs that could easily have been accomplished before their arrival. Regarding the golf course, it is a prestigious Troon course (one of the most beautiful you will find), and as a courtesy I always warn visitors in initial conversations about the costs. The rentors disappointment over the return of only a partial deposit baffles me. I gave the rentor a call to discuss with them that I would have to keep some of their deposit since they had underpaid the rent. I was informed that they were only able to stay 6 of the 7 days that was in the short term lease agreement which they signed and is in my possession today. I unfortunately was never notified that they were planning to cut their stay short. If so, I could have possibly rented that date to another very satisfied rentor. Out of kindness, I offered to return half of the days rent for the date they did not use, which they accepted. Again I apologize for not being able to provide the wonderful vacation that I have helped others to have numerous times before.

This is a total find. The owners are first rate to deal with, the unit is completely immaculate, spacious and updated, they keep the kitchen and toiletries properly stocked, the view is stunning, and the location is ideal, particularly if you are wanting to go between the ski area and the town of Durango. I've stayed in practically ever major ski resort in the US and a few internationally and this will remain on my top list for location, value and creature comforts. If you have 1-3 kids, this is also excellent for families.

I just cannot say enough about our experience at this great condo. We spent our very 1st Christmas away from home there and it was the best. The views were fantastic, the condo was very roomy, great decoration, and the kitchen had everything we needed, we had a great time cooking. The lodge was also great, if we did not want to cook we could go there. The pool and hot tubs were also great, heated pool that went underneath to the outside. The shuttle to Durango Mountain was always there and ready to take us... The Regelbrugge's had a great time and will be back, thanks

I do not know where to begin. Everything in and around the condo was awesome. This was our first experience staying in a condo, and it will not be our last. We have a family of 6, so we were a little concerned about space, but there was plenty of room for everyone. It was just great. It was like being at home. Everything that we needed to cook with was there. All the rooms were beautifully decorated. The beds were extremely comfortable. The only thing that was more impressive than the condo itself were the spectacular views. The location was perfect. We were just up the mountain from Durango and just down the mountain from Durango Mountain Resort and Purgatory. There was plenty of activities to keep us busy there at the lodge and in the surrounding areas. We highly recommend staying here and will again ourselves.

Hard to add to the strong favorable comments already posted. This is a superb unit, beautifully and comfortable furnished, with the best views possible within the entire Tamarron layout. Staff at the lodge is very helpful, the facilities there top notch, and the location perfect. We will definitely return, and will ask for these owners again. They were very helpful, and their concern for our trip added to our enjoyment. After a full day of "vacationing" we looked forward to our return to 636 Highpoint. We'll be back.

This is one of the most comfortable and well-equipped condos we've stayed in. The setting is fantastic with everything within easy access. Hiking is nearby, or simply walking the beautiful property at the resort. There is a lovely little lake and stables for horseback riding just a mile north of the resort. And you're close to skiingand the skyline loop. We spent one afternoon just hiking around Lake Molas, a gorgeous lake tucked away among awesome mountains. Durango is an easy drive, about 20-25 minutes, and we had no problem going in to town for shopping and dinner. Great restaurants and shops in a very laid-back, friendly town. Only negative part of this vacation was leaving after a wonderful week.

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation in your condo. The views were outstanding! We loved sitting on the deck in the morning watching the sun rise over the cliffs. The view of the golf course below was also beautiful. Unlike many others, your location is far enough away from 550 that we could not even hear traffic noise. The beds were some of the most comfortable we've had, which was important to me because of back problems. The new Chop House on the premises is fantastic! There was plenty to do on-site (Troon golf, swimming, hiking, etc.) and your location is also convenient to town as well as a good starting point for excursions to Silverton and Ouray. Anyone else staying here should also note that there is a Durango-Silverton boarding depot 5 minutes from the condo which cuts about 2 hours out of the round-trip train ride (the boring, in-town part.)

Not only would we stay here again, we would seek this property out.
