Guest Book Comments: 'Thanks for all the little extras that made daily living easy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Your beautiful garden was a special treat. Our girls really enjoyed your selection of Maine childrens' books.' [MD] ~~~ 'From the moment we entered the door of your lovely Garden Cottage, we knew we had made the right choice. We enjoyed every moment here, because there were books, puzzles, and games for the few rainy days and your lovely garden and deck for sunny days. The fresh clean rooms and appliances, cook wear, and dishes met our every need (even used the cookbooks), and the egg-beater gook us back to our childhood. We enjoyed the decor: the ships models, carvings, and paintings. Ideal location for walking, touring, and shopping. We love the harbor, the library, and most of all the beautiful blue sky and your friendly hospitality. Thanks heaps!' [VA]

We were lucky! A well-built, comfortable cottage stocked with every amenity needed, and a beautiful, serene, private garden--all located in the beautiful seaside town of Camden...and best of all--spectacular weather in the 70s, with lots of sunshine and a light breeze. Many things to do and see or just relax.
Thank you Paula and David for a wonderful experience in your home.

Traveling with a Wheelchair

Traveling with a wheelchair often poses challenge. Your accessible cottage was truly a blessing to us! Thank you for the recommendations; we came close to checking the majority off your inclusive list which was most helpful. In addition, your suggestion of the Olad for a sail made for a great adventure. We enjoyed eating in as well as sampling fabulous local eateries.
The gardens provided a lovely place for coffee and conversation in the cool, morning air. What a respite from our Mississippi heat!
Thank you for sharing your cottage and property. Your hospitality is a gift!

The cottage was just as described and we found it to be immaculately clean, with a well-stocked kitchen - including coffee, tea, spices and a welcome bouquet of fresh flowers from their beautiful and tranquil garden. (Plenty of cleaning products and paper goods as well!)

Tho' there were just 2 of us, the cottage can accommodate 5 people. Lots of books on Maine and things to do in the area and a good bevy of restaurants and shops to choose from in town.

David and Paula are there for questions, but are never intrusive. If you're visiting Camden, you'll be happy in this lovely cottage. It's close to shops and restaurants as well as the charming harbor. Day trips will take you through beautiful New England hills and dales and backroads.

We thouroughly enjoyed our stay!

We couldn't have asked for a more accommodating rental for our first trip to Maine. We enjoyed touring on the motorcycle, the weather was beautiful, and the smell of the flowers amazing. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

When we come back to Maine it will be to your lovely Garden Cottage

We had a great time this week exploring mid-coast in "almost" spring-like conditions! The Garden Cottage was a perfect home base and was lovely for our family. We hope to visit again soon.

Would I rent again? You bet!

This cottage home was exactly what we needed, nice open floor plan, well stocked kitchen and privacy! The owner, David, met my husband and I when we arrived and was very helpful and willing to accommodate what we needed. Fortunately for us, we had our motorcycle and were graciously provided 4 1/2 beautiful days of touring weather. We ate in 3 nights with dinners ranging from Spaghetti to Lobster and every utensil we needed was easily found. And the flowers, as my daughter would say, "sniffed good"....they were so fragrant. And quiet, we didn't realize how much traffic we hear at our home until we were in bed listening to, absolutely nothing! In the morning it was quiet enough to hear a bee buzzing outside the window. The bed was comfortable, the entire house clean - especially the bathrooms - and all the amenities worked (unlike other VRBO places we've rented). The only "drawback" and it's to the entire region, is the mosquitos, so bring your repellent, you'll need it morning, noon and night. I also found the secret to visiting Camden downtown, although walkable I discovered if I took the car and parked it at the end of the street close to town, then walked into town and when done walked back to my car and drove home I not only didn't have to fight for parking but I also didn't have to walk up the road that is downhill on the way into town (making it uphill on the way back). We were in town for a wedding and when I showed my girlfriend the house we agreed it was perfect for the 4 of us to come back and visit sometime. So, if asked would I rent it again, I'd say "you bet!"

Garden Cottage more that met our expectations

This was our first trip to the New England area and the Garden Cottage provided the perfect setting. Everything met our expectations and beyond. The pictures do not due it justice. What can we say; peaceful, relaxing, beautiful, and very clean. It was a great place to stay to be close to Highway 1, the ocean, and the charming village of Camden. It was a "post card" vacation. You will certainly not go wrong in choosing this home for your vacation. The owner was so helpful by providing directions and highlights of the area. Even recommended restaurants that were great! Overall a wonderful experience for us and my parents. Great place to make memories! We did a lot of sightseeing - Acadia National Park, Boothbay Harbor, Coastal Botanical Gardens, toured historic homes in Wiscasset, and took a boat ride out from Camden. Only a mile walk to Camden harbor area, We'd hope to come back!
Owner's Response: Thank you, Bev. Perhaps we'll see you again sometime. So glad your stay was so satisfying!
