This is a great home for a family vacation. We
enjoyed playing games, kayaking, canoeing, and
just relaxing. The views of the river are beautiful
and serene. We watched seals playing in the river
under the bridge upstream one evening. We took a
couple of day trips as well. There is so much to see
in this part of California. Really a wonderful
vacation!

We had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend! The house was quaint, cozy, comfortable, and our stay was relaxing and peaceful. We felt like we were at home. The view out the dining room and kitchen of the backyard, trees, and river was beautiful! The first thing the kids did when we walked in the house was to light a fire in the living room fireplace. We spent a lot of time on the deck and in the backyard. The cottage was perfect for Roger's parents since it was on the main level and they didn't have to use stairs. The view from the master bedroom upstairs was wonderful, and the room was very spacious. We ate all our meals at the house except for dinner one night. We went to the Village Inn in Monte Rio which was wonderful. During the day we spent time on the river close to the bridge at Monte Rio, and we went to the ocean a couple of times which is only a short distance from the house, approximately 4 miles. We will have great memories of our Mother's Day weekend at Abalone Cove and we will definitely be back.

Beautiful home!! We loved the peaceful setting and complete privacy. There is plenty of room, with wonderful amenities, spectacular views, river access, great kayaking and canoeing, friendly neighbors, and it is close to local restaurants and activities.

Oh my! the house was so great! walking in to the views out the kitchen windows! the master bedroom was huge, comfy and had spectacular views out the window, too. the peace and quiet... the big, pretty yard, we were so cozy! thanks for making us feel at home. we didn't want to leave.

The perfect place to gather family over the Christmas holiday. The home is very beautiful AND functional. Everything you need indoors and out. The location is one of my favorite in Northern California with many activities/places very accessible. And if you never go anywhere you'll enjoy gorgeous views from house as it is beautifully situated among the redwoods, hills, and river. It's the full package!
