Awsome Experience

My family really enjoyed Folly Beach and staying in the Shimmee Shack for Spring Break 2009. We especially liked riding bikes around the island. Also, couldn't believe how close the dolphins came to the beach out at the lighthouse. Will be back soon.

What a comfy, cozy beach house! The Shimmee Shack just makes you feel right at home. Very clean and convenient to everything. Nice kitchen. Comfy beds. The screened porch rocks. Friendly neighbors too. What a unique and laid back beach vacation get away. Thanks, Shimmee Shack! My family loved your place, and shall always remember fondly our trip to Folly Beach. I hope to be able to return to both Folly Beach and The Shimmee Shack some day.

The Shimmee Shack was excellent. Just what we were looking for. A very nice place at the beach that just made you want to relax.

We had a blast at the shack! The house was beautiful on the inside. It's in a great location if you like to walk to the Folly strip for drinks and you can easily walk to the beach. It was very comfortable - cozy living spaces and a great kitchen. We had no problems at all. We had 4 adults (two couples) and one dog and we all had a blast. We'll definitely rent again next spring!

My husband and I spent a few days at the "shack" with our schnauzer. We each agree it is a comfortable and cozy spot for a vacation. You truly do need little more than a toothbrush. We would visit again!

Cozy, relaxing, romantic and user friendly come to mind when I think about our week at the Shimmee Shack. The house truly felt like a home away from home. The atmosphere was perfect for some quality family time for us, our two daughters, and our dogs. I could not think of one thing that the owners didn't provide for, from a muffin pan to dog towels! We highly recommend the Shimmee Shack and are already planning a return for the fall.

Just returned from spending a "girlz week" at the Shimmee. This was my first time at Folly and it was love at first visit...great to be able to walk to restaurants and ride bikes through the lovely neighborhoods. The house was perfect for us...wonderful open kitchen, great porch and cozy bedrooms. Everything we needed was there and owner very responsive to questions prior to arriving. Can't wait for our next visit to the Shimmee...we'll be back!

This was a perfect rental for our house-hunting trip to the Charleston area for my husband and I, our daughter and her grandparents. Spacious, clean and well-appointed. Kitchen large enough for four adults to move around/cook etc. without bumping into one another. Loved jacuzzi tub and wine fridge. DVR also nice. Narrow driveway and rental is upstairs...my 70+ year old father had a little difficulty with the stairs. 20 minutes from Charleston, 30-40 to Summerville. Owner responded quickly to questions and forwarded paperwork promptly. Security deposit check was cashed rather than held. Comfortable place to call home for a week. Would definitely return and would recommend to family or friends.
