We stayed in london for 10 days in July 2012 just before the Olympics. We had the pleasure of staying in 2 of Liz and Carl’s flats, The Emperor and the Portobello. Both flats were spacious, quiet, comfortable and extremely well equipped. The location near Notting Hill, Kensington Palace and Hyde Park was fantastic for restaurants, shopping, groceries and strolling in the park. Many bus routes are just across the street and the Notting Hill Gate Tube station is a short, pleasant walk away. Portobello Road and the weekly market are ridiculously close to the flats.

Liz and Carl were gracious, generous and amazingly helpful hosts. What they promise is true, you get more than just a key. Carl is very knowledgable about great things to do in London. Several of his suggestions were highlights of our trip. They even arranged child care for us so we could have a night out.

During our stay we also saw how very helpful and accommodating Liz and Carl were to other guests.

We had a wonderful trip staying with LondonRentalFlats.com and we plan to stay with them again. Highly recommended.

Our stay at the Portobello with three kids (aged 13, 11 and 8) was made even better with the complimentary airport transfer and arranged groceries on arrival letting us settle in following a long flight. The location was perfect with public transport (buses and trains) very close by. The information provided by the owners prior to arriving assisted us in getting around and thier restaurant and pub recommendations were spot on. Cant wait to return...

We found the owners very helpful and answered all of our questions and queries during our stay. Nellie was also very attentive and helpful. Unfortunately we did not get the room which we thought we were paying for and even though this is understood at time of booking this is a disappointment. The property was in an excellent location for transport, shopping and restaurants. However we found the property to be not up to the usual standard of cleaning, furnishing and general presentation with what we would expect with this daily rate. Mismatched crockery, insufficient and incomplete set of wine glasses, broken plastic clock on the wall and cupboards full of spare, old and not required paraphanalia was frustrating especially when trying to hang clothes or place shoes in cupboards and this detracted away from the expectation build of the website. The second bedroom would have been a disappointment to anyone staying in it due to its unimaginative furnishing and crowded cupboard. We loved the close proximity to Kensington and Notting Hill village and enjoyed morning runs around Hyde Park.

The flat was as described, clean and very well maintained. We very much appreciated the driver meeting us at Heathrow and taking us directly to the Flat. During the ride in we received a call from Carl welcoming us to London and letting us know that we would be met at the flat for a brief check in and to answer any questions regarding transportation and sight seeing. (Thanks Nellie!) Internet access is important to us and the wireless networking and laptop worked flawlessly. The two cell phones provided were useful for making local calls.

You will love the quiet neighborhood with a great pub a block away and "restaurant row" a quick 5 minutes down the street. The bus lines to the theater and London sights is just out the door. We found the tube to be faster to many locations if you don't mind a 12 minute stroll. Many thanks and we look forward to staying with you again next summer.
