First time Carolina Beach

Mr. Dave Central PA
Review Submitted: June 23, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We stayed here the week on June 13th, 2009. This property was very nice. The top floor living/kitchen/dining area has wonderful views on three sides, including the canal and ocean. We kept hoping for a thunderstorm so we could watch the light show, but Mother Nature never cooperated :-)

The bedrooms were very nice, and clean. We only had one car most of the week, but there is room for 4 cars to fit easily.

The walk to the beach was very short. The beach was fantastic with soft sand and warm water. We have visited the Delaware beaches, Ocean City, MD and Aruba. Only Aruba had nicer beaches.

We cooked in four of the nights, and found the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals.

Wilmington is close. We enjoyed spending a day in the riverfront historic district. We also enjoyed the aquarium at Fort Fisher. We hopped the ferry to visit friends in Oak Island. It was a great way to travel, and very inexpensive.

We had a problem with one of the air conditioning units. However, I called to report the problem, and it was fixed immediately. I would recommend this property highly for those seeking a relaxing getaway.

Wonderful Memories

My husband and I managed to get away to the beach for the first time in 8 years. It was a last minute reservation and thankfully everything worked out. You guys were great. The view was exceptional. House was very clean & spacious, but there were only two of us. The elevator helped with taking groceries and luggage up. We would definitely consider staying here again. Hope you'll have us. Thank you for sharing it with us. Since we returned home, I only have to close my eyes to see all the boats at the marina or the ocean.

Great Vacation

Review Submitted: August 6, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We spent the last week in July here. There was plenty of room for every one (there were 6 adults and 7 young children in our party), in this immaculate condo, and the beach was just a short walk. The kitchen was well equipped, and we used the card table and chairs for extra seating at meal times. Beach is clean and uncrowded, water was 81 degrees! The elevator made bringing in groceries and luggage very easy.

GREAT Family Mini-vacation

Dean and Jessica Winston-Salem, NC
Review Submitted: July 29, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
My family and I just returned from our Carolina Beach mini-vacation. I found the online description about this property to be 100% accurate. There were a lot of 1st's during this trip for us. This was my first time renting a vacation home and also from an online website.

The Customer Service was Oustanding! This year we decided to take a mini-vacation to the beach at the last moment because we wanted a change from our routine mountain vacation. This property just happened to be available during the 2 nights that we were looking to travel. Portia was very quick in accomodating our last minute request and was able to work with us to make our mini-vacation a reality. She went above and beyond to check-in with us and make sure that everything was all in order when we arrived.

Traveling with 2 small children can always be very challenging and neither of them had ever been to the beach before. There were plenty of attractions just a short drive away. We visited the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher and the Civil War museum one day. Then we went into Wilmington and toured the USS NC Battleship one day. These were great outings for us during the "Heat Of The Day" then we hit the beach in the evening when it was cooler.

I have been home all of 1 day and have already recommended this property to co-workers. We will definately be back for future vacations!

Stay

Vicki Ann Gulfport MS
Review Submitted: July 27, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
My family and I stayed at the Condo for four days and four nights. Our stay for the most part was very relaxing. I found that all the amenities we needed were profivided, the layout of the Condo was very nice and made our stay comfortable. My only problem was that we had trouble with the elevator not working properly at times. Also the stairs towards the bottom are very unsafe as we had three members of our family fall. The second to the last step is dangerous. Walking down you think you are at the bottom and you are not, which causes you to miss the last step. A reflecter of some type might help to solve this problem. One member of our family was hurt, twisting her ankle and her knee, also her back. So I suggest you look into this problem immediately. I do not know what the laws for N. Carolina are but there are no escape plans posted anywhere in the Condo to assist you in case of a fire and there should be rope ladders to help you to get out if you were to be trapped on any of the above floors.
Other than the things mentioned above our stay was fun and we enjoyed many of the attractions that were available to us.
Owner's Response: Dear Guest;

This is our 2nd year of business only and this building is brand new and was built to NC codes. We are so sorry to hear that your group had a fall as you didn't call or tell us anything about it. Your group is the only group we've ever had which had difficulty with the stairs, they are built the normal size of all new construction. As you know, the elevator was repaired immediately upon receipt of the part that had broken in the upper mechanical area. You were only without the elevator, as you noted, for a short time and we responded to your service request kindly and promptly. Again, our unit is built to code. Thank you for your stay!
