Studio with Kitchenette - Sleeps 2

Discounts available based on length of stay. Our Studio is completley renovated with ceramic tiled floors and a large porcelain tiled shower. All the ceiling areas have been filled with insulation and faced with 2-ply bamboo. Along with fresh paint throughout, all electrical outlets and switches have been replaced and additional outlets added. Our studio is located at Sandpiper Village I. The Sandpiper grounds boast beautiful mature landscaping and a pool complex with a large tile-bottomed pool plus a good size jacuzzi and two Webber gas grills. My studio is less than a minute walk to the pool.

There is no cooktop or oven in the studio, however, there are Webber gas barbecue grills available for guests to use on a complimentary basis at the large pool complex, located less than a minute's walk from the unit. Hot meals prepared in this manner can either be enjoyed at the pool or taken back to the studio. The Princeville Resort is located on Kauai's North Shore where you are just minutes away from exploring her many wondrous attractions such as pristine, secluded beaches, the best Kauai has to offer. Great snorkeling, windsurfing, board surfing, or swimming are just minutes away as well. A hike on the Kalalau Trail along the Na Pali Coast reveals unparalleled vistas of ocean, mountains, waterfalls, and sheer cliffs that will stay with you forever. And for the golf enthusiast, Princeville is the home of two world class golf courses, the Maikai Course and the Prince Course ranked #1 in Hawaii by Golf Magazine. About Karl or Rachel Forer

My wife, Rachel, and I first visited Kauai in the early eighties and just got hooked. We bought our first vacation rental property in 2001 at Sandpiper Village in Princeville and spent about 5-1/2 months renovating it late 2003 to early 2004. We dreamed that one day we might be able to make Kauai our permanent home, and we were fortunate to actually make this happen in January of 2006. We bought our second vacation rental property at Puamana in August of last year (2010), as our second vacation rental property. and after a renovation period, placed it on line as a 3 bedroom 2 bath townhouse vacation rental.

My wife still works as a flight attendant and I am retired (for all the guys out there, I'll be writing a book soon about how to make that happen). However, I keep busy managing both properties, when we're not dancing, playing softball/tennis, or at the beach. One of the advantages of living here on Kauai and offering vacation properties for rent is that any issues with units that may arise are addressed immediately and decisively through direct communication between the guests and me, the owner. There is no go-between management company in the loop to delay any action that may be required. It's a win-win for everyone.

Great Honeymoon Getaway!

My wife and I rented Karl and Rachel's studio for our ten day honeymoon getaway to Kauai and could not be happier. In addition to being in a great location (the North Shore ended up being our favorite part of the island; see below), the studio is quiet, clean, comfortable, and just the right size for a couple. Karl and Rachel were great to work with as we struggled to nail down our exact dates and kept changing things on them. We had the opportunity to meet Karl and Rachel when they were restocking the property and got to tour their 2-bedroom rental as well, which is also very nice and what we plan to rent when we come back with the kids. We spent quite a bit of time talking to them and they were kind enough to share their favorite places with us, as well as a lot of the island's history. The property description and photos provided here and on their main web site are thorough and accurate.

The area is fantastic and exactly what you'd expect from a Hawaiian getaway. Princeville and the town just west of it, Hanalei, are cute, quiet little towns with great food and shops, and the best beaches on the island are just a few minutes away. If you decide to stock the studio's full-size refrigerator, there is a supermarket with decent pricing in Princeville (for which Karl and Rachel provide a discount club card).

We were very pleased with the property and look forward to returning ASAP!

Owner's Response: We were pleased with the chance meeting of Angie and JW at the condo and found them both to be very friendly, enthusiastic and out-going. Their new found love affair for the north shore and Kauai in genreal was quite apparent as we talked about places on the island they've already visited and those yet to be seen including several secluded word-of-mouth beaches.

We look forward to their return visit is the not-to-distant future.

Fine for those needing to stay in a budget

Princeville is a very nice area. Sandpiper is well cared for. The parking situation is not good if you aren't lucky enough to park near the condo. The bed is hard/springy. Celing fan is enough to keep you cool. Shower is very nice, but caution the hot water heater is on a timer, and it shares w/another unit, so one time we didn't get a warm shower. Lanai is nice. Full size fridge is helpful. Owner great to work with. WiFi very convenient. The Princeville cliffs require a 5 min drive and a 8-10 min walk, but very nice to watch surfers, seals and sunsets. We never used the pool.
This is a fine place if you are on a tight budget and seeing the ocean easily isn't important . This is in a condo complex where there are lots of residents, but the ones we were in contact with were very nice.
Again i would say that the owner is very helpful and responds quickly to any problems. The area is quiet and the condo overall was fine.

We have been coming back to Kauai to stay at the Sandpiper 234 studio for the past six years of vacation and always look forward to our return! The studio is in a great location and is perfect for a couple looking for comfortable and nicely decorated accomodations. Karl, the owner has been great to book with.

We returned to NJ just six days ago. Our trip to Big Island was very interesting: volcanic eruption, Astronomic Observatory... But we miss Kauai, its beauty, its beaches and mountain veiws. We want to go back as soon as possible and stay again in your studio. The appartment is very clean, cosi, comfortable, and very well equipped. It is close to beautiful beaches (I recommend Anini beach for your future tenants!)as well as to supermarket to fill in a huge refrigerator. We had a wonderful time. The Studio was great. Having a full sized refrigerator made it wonderful. Pick up a little cooler and you are set for any day trip.We put 700 miles on the rental car in 7 days. There is so much to see and do. Use the guidebook in the room to plan your trips.
