Bay Haven and Captiva Island are an absolutely beautiful getaway. This was our first trip to Captiva and we fell in love with the simplicity and beauty of the island. Bay Haven exceeded expectations and from the first moment felt like home. The home was very clean, comfortable and at the same time luxurious. From the master bedroom, there was always a beautiful sunrise over the bay. Morning coffee out on the dock was followed by a long walk on the gulf. Afternoons were spent relaxing by the private pool / jacuzzi and the evening always ended with a walk on the gulf shore to enjoy the breathtaking sunset. The wildlife was abundant and even more plentiful than J.N. Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge. In a large pine just off of the driveway was a pair of nesting osprey, one of only 85 pairs on the island. Every morning the osprey enjoyed their breakfast just feet from the upper balcony as we watched from the screened in lanai. On the last day an entire pod of dolphins followed us on our walk along the gulf. Bay Haven is in a perfect location, the winding lighted dock is on the bay side of the island and gulf access is a very short block away. Everything you need is within a relaxing walk from the home; water activities and equipment rentals, small grocery store, shops and restaurants. The biggest inconvenience…you must always carry your camera or you will regret that you missed one incredible shot after another. The vacation was so relaxing and beautiful we can’t wait to return and are planning a second trip in the next few months.
