This 5 bedroom home was built in 1889 by Captain Orin Crowell and is now available for a summer rental. Not your average cottage, this year round, furnished home has many traditional Victorian features - high ceilings, butler's pantry, lots of nooks and crannies - and sits on a half acre lot, most of which is in the large, grassed, fenced back yard.
Updated in 2009, this home includes: five bedrooms, three and 1/2 baths, a fully equipped kitchen, a laundry room with washer and dryer, a living room, a parlor, a sleeping porch, three bedrooms (including a master) upstairs, two bedrooms/sitting rooms downstairs. Lots of room for your family, and your dog, to enjoy!
Located on the corner of Main and Sea Streets in Dennisport, this is a walk-to-almost everything location and is exactly one mile from the Sea Street Beach.
Perfect for a Family Reunion.: The size of this home coupled with its private, fenced, back yard make this home ideal for family reunions. Centrally located in Dennisport, there are nearby activities for the entire family. Beaches, public golf courses and miniature golf courses are nearby. Restaurants, ice cream and antique shops are within walking distance. Don't feel like going anywhere? Sit in the back yard under the umbrella and enjoy the gardens and a cold drink or shoot hoops and play badminton or volleyball.
A Great Place for a Wedding!: Our first guests of the season in 2009 held their wedding reception at the Captain Crowell House! A party tent fit perfectly in the back yard and parking was arranged across the street. The wedding party enjoyed staying together in the large home while the guest found lodging nearby. By all accounts, a great time was held by all.
Interested for your reception? Send us a note. We'll even help you make local arrangements including the minister (since we have one in the family).
Time for a Group Retreat?: One of our first guests in the summer of 2008 held their church retreat at the Captain Crowell House. The convenience of the location, the large private back yard, and the ability to hold separate gatherings in the parlor, dining room and living room all contributed to the success of their retreat.
A great location any time of year, consider holding your retreat at the Captain Crowell House during the shoulder season to enjoy the awakening of Spring or the light of Autumn on the Cape.
