Great apartment in an amazing location!

Review Submitted: November 14, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
My wife and I stayed in this apartment for almost two weeks. We know Boston well, so knew this would be a great spot to stay. The location and the apartment itself exceeded our expectations.

The bars, restaurants and cafes of South End are right on your doorstep and the sights and shopping of Back Bay are easily walkable. Plus the T is pretty close, giving access to the whole city.

The apartment itself was spacious, clean, well furnished and serviced. Plus, the view of the downtown skyline/Hancock from the balcony was fabulous, helping you feel connected to the city, day or night.

David was prompt, helpful and polite throughout. The single time we called on him during the stay he arrived in around 15 minutes and quickly solved our (very minor) issue.

Whatever the purpose of your trip, I would strongly recommend this apartment. For a long or short stay, it's an excellent base from which to access everything the city has to offer.
Owner's Response: Thanks for your review. It was a pleasure having you stay and I'm very happy that you liked the apartment.

A great place to stay in Boston

We stayed for five nights in late September and had a wonderful time. The space was fresh and clean, more than adequate for two couples and had everything we needed. The deck was our favorite spot in the morning for coffee and at night after returning from an evening out. The apartment is close to all the activity in South Boston and close enough to all public transportation (get a $15 week long pass) so you can get every where. For dining in the South End I really enjoyed the Thai restaurant and downtown Marliave's both had great food at reasonable prices. If you go to Boston for oysters I recomend getting them at lunch or happy hour, usually $1 each otherwise expect to spend up to 3 times that. For entertainment and a good tour the Duck Tour is a must as goofy as it might seem it was great!

For sure stay at this apartment, I will never stay at a hotel in Boston after this visit.

Perfect Location!! Excellent Neighborhood!

Visited Boston with 3 girlfriends and for the first time in the city. The neighborhood was safe and everything you need was close by....entertainment, the subway, restaurants, a market, pubs and nightlife, shopping....everything! A short walk from Copley Square and Newbury St. The apt. was great and the rooftop deck was fabulous! Well furnished and clean. The only thing I would add would be full size mirrors onto the backs of the bedroom doors. The mirror in the bathroom was to high to get a good look at your outfit before you hit the town.....but thats it! David was very pleasant and a wonderful host! I recommend this apt for anyone visiting the city. The only consideration would have to be the 3 flights of stairs, which really werent that bad! Thanks David for the great accommodations!

My friends and I stayed here for 4 nights. They had originally planned their trip and I was able to come at the last minute. Mr. Higgins was easy to contact and understanding of the change. He made sure there were extra linens. Even though a parking spot is not included with the rent, he did help us locate a few places that we could park our car (and believe me, that is hard to do in the area - if you can do it, avoid driving). He also left a list of instructions for anything we would need to use in the apartment (including internet, TV, and laundry) and even several very helpful travel guides for Boston with maps. He also, very nicely, let us leave our bags in the apartment later than the usual "check out" on our last day to accommodate our flight times. He was above and beyond friendly and helpful.

The apartment itself was very nice and spotless. There is a great view from the balcony. The kitchen has most dishes anyone would need and we used it to cook our evening meals. It is also in a great location. There are stores and restaurants close by and the public transportation is within walking distance. All in all, this was a great place to stay for a visit to Boston!

15 Milford is an all-around perfect location for any type of city event or getaway. From this quiet neighborhood, you can quickly and easily access parking, restaurants, theaters, conventions, libraries, museums, downtown, and much more. From the scenic penthouse vista, to the fully functional kitchen, this spot is an ideal base-camp for anything from a romantic getaway to a short-term business trip. It has all of the amenities to please the most discerning palate.
Owner's Response: A pleasure to do business with. Thanks Andrew

Beau quartier et appartement très agréable

Review Submitted: April 20, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
We just spent 4 days in Boston and the five of us (4 adults and one child), coming from Paris, enjoyed the city and the living conditions in this appartment. It is comfortable, very clean and quite well furnished. The area is most pleasant and within walking distance of historical sites. We definitely would gladly stay there again if we go back to Boston.
Owner's Response: Wonderful people. A genuine pleasure to meet them.

Refreshing and Inspiring

This was a lovely surprise, nestled among the brownstones and side streets of Boston's South End. Comfortable, quiet, and so close to all the great restaurants, shops, and even some lovely parks. The evening view of the city was lovely from the deck. Although just a short term visitor in this neighborhood, I felt instantly at home. People walking their dogs, escorting their kids to local schools, others rushing to catch the local bus or cabs to the downtown business area. Every convenience of home at my fingertips yet a distinct feeling of escape from the day to day routine. I've returned to that routine in my own neighborhood refreshed and inspired (got a few decorating ideas from this place, too)

Good value, accomodating owner

Much better than staying in a hotel. Less expensive, more room, full kitchen. Owner met us there when we arrived and let us stay as late as we needed on check out date. Pictures on web site are exact. Property was clean and new. Easy walk to Silverline and Back Bay subway station, but both are several blocks away. Safe, beautiful historic location. Had everything we needed. Would recommend to others and would stay there again.

Overpriced and under-supplied

squit United States
Review Submitted: July 11, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
Price was high. Bedroom with double is hardly large enough for bed and small chest. Actually sleeps five, not six, towels for 4. Bathroom inadequately cleaned. Kitchen needs extra serving items, bowls, utensils. Room air conditioners in one bedroom and kitchen. Steep stairway up to fourth floor. No parking, but owner allows parking in enclosed yard several blocks away.
Owner's Response: Tenant did not inquire about parking and got very upset when she got there and found none. I gave her a gated space nearby for free, but the relationship went downhill from there. Please inquire, this is downtown Boston. She's right about it sleeping 5, but Homeaways template only does 2-4 or 4-6. I have never rented to 6 people. There were 4 in her party. There are 2 full sets of linens for 5 and 5 full sets of towels. This is a new unit and things are being added at guest's suggestions, and I apologize if if it lacks some items. Very few guests have actually done much cooking in the unit anyway. The unit is immaculate. This is an 800 square unit and is a great value considering it's location. Other occupants has been very satisfied with the accommodations, and I have had inquiries about repeat visits.

Beautiful historic location

This apartment was in a beautiful area-very safe and close to the silver line bus which took us to the subway. Lots of restaurants nearby. Apartment was spacious and modern. Washer and dryer are advertised on the site, but they are in the basement and shared with three other apartments. Make sure you get maps of the subway and streets or know your way around-we left ours behind for future guests. Overall, I would recommend this rental to others.
