The Perfect Retreat

While waiting for our daughter's first baby to arrive,
we spent two wonderful weeks with Elise and Paul. We
so enjoyed having such a beautiful and pleasant place
to stay beginning with Christmas 2008 and into 2009.
Thank you for all the special memories.

We stayed here for 5 days while visiting friends. The accommodations could not have been more pleasant. The apartment was very clean and nicely furnished. Our hosts were pleasant and helpful. Thanks guys!

We had a great retreat by the bay. Cozy, clean space away from the busy part of San Rafael. We had a couple great bike rides out to China Camp and incredible weather for Dec.

We really enjoyed the cute neighborhood location with a secluded air, yet within walking distance of a nice market. The cottage itself is beautiful and cozy at the same time, like it came straight out of a magazine, and made our stay in the San Rafael picture perfect.

I enjoyed my stay at "Chez Ganz/Samuelson". The apartment is well appointed and has everything you could possibly need. It's small and very charming with attention paid to detail. There is an amazing, comfortable bed! The bedroom is dark and quiet at night. A charming fountain outside the window provides a lovely sound. The bathroom is spacious and all of my needs were met including soap, shampoo, creme rinse, hair dryer, and magnifying mirror.
The kitchen had more things in it that I would use but one could easily make a quick meal in there or a good cup of coffee. The living room has a lovely view of the boats in the distance. And to top it off, the host and hostess were friendly and helpful. It's extremely clean as well!!!! I would definitely return!

We stayed for eight nights in January, 2009. The apartment is very clean and well appointed - small, but more than adequate for us, a retired couple. Owners were attentive and eager to please. We will stay here again on a future visit.

Paul and Elise have provided a lovely airy and spacious place to stay right outside of Downtown San Rafael. Clean, bigger than their photos would have you believe, and wonderfully decorated. A kitchenette allows you to prepare your own breakfasts and lunches, though dinner is better done outside (and anyway, isn't part of travel to experience the foods of the places you stay?)

My girlfriend and I enjoyed our time here. The bed is one of the most comfortable beds I ever slept in, and the gurgling fountain is a soothing sound to fall asleep by. I wish I would have had more time to appreciate their garden, as it is truly quite nice, but they are really centrally located to San Francisco, Sausilito, Mount Tamalpais, Napa et al, that we kept returning so late that all we did was plop into that comfortable bed and sleep till noon.

I never stayed at a vacation rental before this time, but I do think I will be using them whenever traveling with others from now on.
