Taos in October

We chose Querencia Taos based on reviews here, and were pleased to discover the superlatives were completely justified. It is the warmest, most welcoming and user-friendly home imaginable. The kitchen/dining area is well-designed and well-stocked, the living room stylish without being snobby and the bedrooms cozy and comfortable as can be. The raves reviewers have given the master bath are on the mark, and yet still don't quite capture what an eye-popper this room is. Stunning! Only the views of Taos Mountain were more impressive.
Although we did not have the pleasure of meeting the owners personally, the excellent caretakers were responsive to all our needs and the housekeeper maintained the home in pristine condition. Although we'd selected Querencia Taos for its pet-friendly policy, we left our dogs at home; however, it's a great property for furry friends thanks to the concrete flooring and walking trails. We appreciated the bottles of wine and our 14-year old son was especially grateful for free internet access.
October proved to be a perfect time to visit Taos; the weather was mild, the tourist crowds light, and the fall colors glorious. We would highly recommend the Enchanted Circle drive, Taos Gorge, the church in Ranchos de Taos and day trips to Santa Fe. Great food and ambiance can be found at Doc Martin's and the Taos Diner (per owners' recommendation) as well as at Graham's. There is a local casino, but it pales next to those in and around ABQ and Santa Fe.
Thanks again to Shannon, Quest and staff for the most serene accommodations; we would love to visit again!
