Perfect Wedding in a Spectacular Setting

Review Submitted: October 21, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
We were looking for a central location for our wedding guests to travel to and Cobb Hill Estate fit the bill. The main house and wedding site are on the top of an adjacent mountain to Mount Monadnock and the view is breathtaking, with Mt. Monadnock almost appearing below the estate it is so high up.

All of our wedding accomodations including tent and furniture were handled though Cobb Hill Estate except band and caterer. The site was ready to go when we arrived. Lots of parking which was a problem in some of the other locations we looked at.

We also rented the nearby carriage house to accomodate extra guests.

Everyone loved the ceremony location and setting framed by the mountain in a natural amphitheater with the white wooden arbor. It made for perfect photos.

We will always remember this special day and hope to return some day in the future.

Family Gathering

Our stay at Cobb Hill was on the occasion of a family wedding in a nearby town and shortly after the birth of two grandchildren - coupled with a rare visit from out-of-country relatives. We cannot imagine a better place to have gathered and spent time together. The house was certainly spacious enough to accommodate this extended family yet still provide privacy for each. Mount Monadnock was a spectacular presence, the view changing with each day's new weather. Hiking the grounds, exploring the woods, climbing Monadnock and coming back together each evening in this comfortable, welcoming place was a real gift.

Our rooms were clean and readied, it was very easy to move into the kitchen and prepare meals, the area is a gem to explore. The owners kindly addressed my many questions before our stay and there was information provided for us at the house. Our time at Cobb Hill will be a fond memory for this family for a long time to come.

My husband and I rented the property for our anniversary weekend. The snow-capped view of Mt Monadnock was stunning. The setting was romantic and magical. We will definitely be going back!

A magical place for young and old alike!!

When we rented the property we had no idea it would be so spectacular! We chose it because it was centrally located for us (we had a family reunion) and everyone had the time of their life. Treetop Manor was a favorite for the kids, and everyone loved seeing the heard of goats, the flock of sheep, and feeding the llama. Our only problem, though, was leaving - everyone wanted to stay for another week. We plan on renting it once a year from now for our future annual reunions.

Breathtaking views and and perfect accomodations

We rented the Cobb Hill Estate for our 3 day corporate retreat. The property was much more beautiful than any of the pictures on the website. The sweeping views were magnificent, and it was the perfect place to get away from our daily routines and really be creative. There were LOTS of beds, a great kichen, and we especially enjoyed "creative sessions" in the hot tub. Oh...and the hiking trails were fantastic!

Great property for groups

The property is absolutely beautiful and overlooks Mt. Monadnock. It is at the top of a hill and has views in 3 directions. The 4 en-suite bedrooms are great, and there is a large lounge, den, and dining room. There are additional sleeping areas in the den and a gym/play room, plus a "guest cottage" (no bathroom). The home is comfortable and spacious, including a large outside deck with outdoor hot tub. There are lots of walking trails right from the house, and others a short drive away. It was about a 2 hour drive from central Boston making it very accessible.

I'd worry about getting in/out of there in the winter if you didn't have a 4x4 or AWD, given the ~2 mile dirt road in from the town of Harrisville, which includes a few steep sections.

The owner was very helpful, and the home an exceptional property to spend time in.
