This is a lovely quiet place to stay with all mod cons. Please note that it is a studio, not a "1 bedroom cottage".

I'll get past the formalities first and quickly; The cottage was spotless, the layout was adorable and well utilized, property was pristine and very well maintained, and I plan on recommending this property to everyone I know that is on a budget and needs a spectacular spot in the world to get away to.

Now, the formalities behind us, I'll get to the good stuff. I am a teacher, and my wife is an administrative assistant at a bank. We haven't taken a vacation in 3 years (which was our honeymoon), and budgeting well, while getting our moneys worth was of the utmost in regards to finding a spot to vacation to. Can I just say that Conch Shell Cottage flew miles past my expectations. Miles and miles and miles. The lot is adorable. I'm sitting on the front porch now. I can see the ocean from the front porch and could go lay on a hammock on the beach right now if I liked. The garden that surrounds our picket fence combined with the breeze and smell of the ocean makes the screened in porch my ideal for drinking my coffee and reading my favorite C.S. Lewis.

Jane left us with a thorough brief of the island. She exclaimed that the brief is 20 years in the making. We had everything we needed, from who to rent our car from, to who to contact us to take an amazing hike, to who to call if we wanted to scuba dive, to where to go to find some amazing seafood at a good price. We wanted for nothing.

This place is perfect for a couple who needs a break and is on a budget. We know what it feels like to scour the internet to find a piece of paradise that is not crowded with people and noises and hustle and bustle. A place where you can relax and gather yourself. Be confident. This can be that place.

For certain, my wife and I will be back to Conch Shell Cottage, or maybe even bring some of our friends back and stay in Coral Reef Villa.

Jane, thank you so much.

Mat

Quiet Beach Cottage

We had a great time at Conch Shell Cottage. It had everything we needed for our two week vacation w/ a beautiful garden and views of the ocean. We went swimming off the reef w/ masks and snorkels and spent lots of time exploring the back roads of Nevis. Also went hiking in the the rain forest and saw monkeys and lots of tropical fruit trees. The cottage had cable and an excellent internet connection so I could keep up w/ my business interests. Janette came twice a week to help keep us clean and organized and also did our laundry. The best grocery was in Gingerland and the best produce was at Manas going the other way towards Charlestown. Everyone we met was very helpful and our vacation went by too fast. We would love to come back and stay for a month.

DOCTOR's ORDERS

Review Submitted: June 2, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
Hi Jane,
I just wanted to say thank you for renting us the beautiful
cottage. Nevis was exactly what the doctor ordered and the cottage was the perfect prescription. We went to St. Kitts for a day trip and could not wait to get back to the solitude of Nevis. I'm sure St. Kitts has it own beauty and charm, but Nevis was exactly what we were looking for at that time. We will be calling again, I promise you.
Thank You again

Conch Shell Heaven

I've been coming to Nevis for five years and this year finally found my ideal spot in Conch shell cottage. It's perfect in every way for a simple, restful, restorative, affordable vacation. Fronts the best beach on Nevis, quiet, lovely tradewinds cool the heat, easy access by car to Charlestown and Oualie Beach in one direction, and Golden Rock-Gingerland in the other direction. If you love Nevis (and I do!) you will love conchshell cottage. It's tidy and well-appointed, like living on a boat.

And if you come, please remember to step lightly on Nevis, which is fragile and unspoiled.

What can we say about this perfect beautiful place. Don't tell too many people!!!!! We would love to keep this place just to ourselves. This private secluded beach paradise comes with not only a beautiful view and cozy, romantic accomodations for two but wonderful hosts who give just the perfect amount of care and attention. Jane you made us feel like family and we cannot wait to visit you and your lovely little paradise by the sea again.

We had a great time at the romantic Conch Shell Cottage! The cottage was cozy and had a wonderful view of the ocean. We enjoyed the quiet secluded beaches. The whole island was low-key and very relaxing. Jane's suggestions of a car rental and resturants were great. We will definantly go back!

Wonderful Little Cottage

We were delighted with our pleasant stay at Conch Shell Cottage and have recommended it to friends looking for a comfortable yet charming, well-located and completely equipped hideaway on beautiful Nevis. We were pleased to find the accommodation to be exactly "as advertised."
Jane was truly a concierge-on-call suggesting memorable sightseeing activities such as the fort and a drive around the island as well as a special hike to Indian Castle. She suggested great restaurants and introduced us to local friends with common interests.
We were so fortunate to have discovered this magic little place and will definitely return.

Private cottage with charming personality

Beautiful small cottage in a private location, just steps from the beach and nearby plantation. When we arrived Jane met us to ensure we had everything we needed and went out of our way to provide suggestions on what to do and where to find everything. Jane is extremely helpful and will do anything possible to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We found the island of Nevis to be much more pleasurable than nearby St. Kitts, and the locals were extremely accommodating. It's definitely worth renting a car so you get a chance to see all of the island.
There's quite a bit to do by the cottage; Lay out on the hammock and feel the breeze, drink or eat at the nearby bar, or simply stroll the beach. If you're looking for a quiet, beautiful place to relax and have privacy, this would be it.

Marvelous little cabana with all the amenities and a great location. There are only a few palm trees between you and the ocean, and you can take it all in whilst lounging in a chaise long in front of the cabin, or from the delightful little screened in respite over breakfast. It's private, yet steps away from the Nisbet Plantation, where we had our wedding. Kaddy at the bar makes a murderous Pina Colada.
