Wedding venue review

Sam&Russ Birmingham, AL
Review Submitted: November 6, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
My husband and I had the unique fortune to stumble upon these beautiful homes online in our exhaustive search for a weekend wedding venue. We knew we were looking for something to house both families in order to celebrate for multiple days but also had an outside space with some natural beauty for the ceremony. Living outside the state we took a risk booking sight unseen other than online pictures. Turned out to be the best decision by far. The outside space is breathtaking in early October. The beach is private, remote and quiet with small waves and shallow for wading unless you take the kayaks out further. The grounds are well manicured & the magnolias remind you of ancient relics you see in magazines. The pool is large and crystal blue against the ocean. Most of our time was definitely spent outdoors and during the wedding day our guest were amazed. We had families of 6-8 in each house but could have slept far more without problem. Each house is decorated so beautifully we felt like royalty by the end of the week. The kitchens were spacious and our caterer had no problems with space. Tim and Elizabeth were always available by phone and very thoughtful... 3 or 4 days before the ceremony they scheduled the pool guy, pest guy and the landscaping guys all come for some small last minute maintenance.

Some unexpected bonuses..
Amazing wildlife from stingrays to dolphins to wild butterflies everywhere...
The "bridal" master bedroom in one of the homes all in white made great pictures...
The hot tub every night after dinner was awesome ;b
The National Seashore nearby for wedding day photo session...
A great internet connection to take our gradschool midterm 2 days before the wedding, and of course...
A great donut shop nearby!

We couldn't have been more blessed and our families are already looking forward to renting again for future vacations together.

We had a great time and the house was beautiful! The weather wasn't the best so the adults did not use the pool due to it being cold. The kids on the other hand will swim in just about anything. The adults were disappointed because the jets on the hot tub did not work. Since we couldn't use the pool, due to the pool not being heated we had planned to spend a lot of time in the hot tub. Without the jets working we didn't really use it. Other than that we loved it and would go back.
Owner's Response: It is regrettable that the weather was cooler than anticipated and that the hot tub blowers malfunctioned (despite being less than a year old.) Although the jets and heater remained functional the blowers that create the therapeutic bubbles for the spa effect is what went out.

Unfortunately, both the weather and the blowers were something outside the homeowner's control. As with any guests, we worked diligently to rectify the problem. The hot tub blowers were replaced, but the delivery from the manufacturer and installation was too late to allow these guests to enjoy the spa. It should also be noted that there are two master bedrooms, each with their own private jetted tubs.

A house made for a wedding

Thank you for allowing us to use this house last month for our daughter's wedding. She was married in front of the infinity pool facing the bay. Her aisle was the sidewalk between the 2 houses. A DJ set his equipment up on the 2nd floor back porch--with plenty of room to spare. We used the pool chairs for some of the guest to sit in/ others stood with their own cameras. During the ceremony the noice level from passing cars on the main highway was ok--the video picked up some noise but it did not drown out the service. A local photographer made some wonderful, colorful pictures beside the pool, pier and beach. We had the reception in the kitchen/living room area. The glass table looked beautiful with the food on it. We set up the cakes in the foyer. The house was large enough for all our guest to eat in comfort The DJ was also able to set his equipment on the living room/bar. The photo's made inside the house turned out very good. I do wish that we had thought to turn off some of the lights and use the "mood lighting" in some of the pictures. My daughter was very happy with her wedding. Thanks again for allowing us to use your house. Mother of the Bride

Navarre FL Palm Beach house

My husband and I and three of our teenagers stayed in this house for a week, and had a wonderful time there. The management company renting the house was easy to contact and responsive to questions. The house was new, clean, and very spacious and has a great view. I would definitely recommend this to a friend for vacation. Really, the only problem we had was that we have a son who is doing college Cross Country and he needs to run about 15 miles a day, and we had to be creative about finding places to go....because the neighborhoods right around the house aren't geared for that. He ended up running when we went to State Parks or the National seashore and that worked out well. We went on a kayak trip on the Blackwater river and spent a day with a Pontoon boat later in the week which we took to the National Seashore and spent time on the Gulf side. That was probably our favorite day, very beautiful and very quiet.....didn't even see any other people there that time of year. Loved the "home" amenities in the house....such as a cooler, the kayaks, the margarita maker and made use of all of them. We felt very welcome and treated the house as though it were ours. Our teenagers loved the hot tub, our other biggest problem was actually getting them out of it to do anything else. The pool isn't heated, but they used that a little bit, too. The people in the area are very friendly and very helpful.

Our family, along with three other families, stayed in this wonderful house for three nights in September 2008. We had nine adults and 11 children and everything went great! The sleeping accommodations worked out and with all the bathrooms we were able to pull it off.
We spent mornings at the Navarre beach and lunch, afternoons, and evenings at the house. The kids kept busy in the pool and on the sound with the kayaks. We would definitely recommend this house to others.

We had a great time in Navarre Beach! The house was beautifully decorated and clean. It had all the comforts of home, plus the pool and beach. The Spaids were extremly helpful, and easy to get in touch with. It made for a smooth, trouble free vacation!

Beautiful and spacious home with great pool/patio

Review Submitted: August 18, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
My family and some friends had an incredible experience while vacationing in this home. It is very spacious for all to have their own areas for privacy. It is nicely decorated with also plenty of space in the living room and kitchen. The pool and patio are great fun! It is a great size pool with amazing views of the sound. We enjoyed time on all three levels of balconies experiencing sunsets and wonderful views of the water. Additional amenities were a plus - we enjoyed fishing off of the dock and checking the crab trap. Kayaking in the sound was an adventure. The kids enjoyed the game tables on the bottom floor while we enjoyed the margarita machine. We would love to rent both houses together with a larger group!
