our wonderful family reunion/vacation

derb East Tawas, Michigan USA
Review Submitted: March 1, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
My husband and traveled from Michigan to Vermont to meet up with my 3 sisters and their families the second week in February. Dave and I traveled around the beautiful state of Vermont for two days before we were all to meet. We enjoyed our travels, but I must say that the town of Woodstock said it all!!. It was very easy to get to from any highways. All of the roads are marked well.
The cute victorian house met all of our expectations. Dave and I did not stay at the house itself due to the fact that there were 12 (9 adults 2 teenagers a 1 dog) of us all together. We did however stay near by for sleeping purposes only. We ate meals and hung out at the house. It was a pleasurable experience. The two full bathrooms were convenient to use. Dave and I have no children, so we are not used to the daily hubbub of family activities. Even with all of us together in the house I did not feel hemmed in at all, and I was always able to find a quite place to read. Practically right out the front, within a very short drive was down hill sking and cross country sking. Both of which was enjoyed by our group. We could walk into town and enjoy the sights. There were many good resteraunts in town, all with a very friendly staff. The general store was marvelous! We were even able to walk to the resteraunts in the evenings.I must point out that the house while so close to the town is off the beaten path and very peaceful. The views from the house are good with a nice tree filled back yard! We feel very lucky to have experienced our stay at this house and the town of Woodstock!!

Wonderful place to stay

Our trip to Woodstock was great ! We had a wonderful week in the doll house.
The house is very charming and well decorated. The location is also very good.
We walked every day one or two times to the centre of the village. The kids played several times at the playground in the opposite of the house. They met some other children and played with them.

We also did a lot of trips starting from the house. We visited the
BillingsFarm, the Quechee gorge, the maple museum, a lot of covered bridges, Ben and Jerry's, Burlington, Hanover (Dartmouth university) and lots of other places. Vermont is a really wonderful
state. We had not enough time to visit all.

If it wasn't that far, we should come back every year to the doll house. Thanks Robin and Mick

Perfect house

This adorable house made our wedding weekend stress free and memorable. My husband and I had our wedding in the Woodstock area over Labor Day weekend and my family stayed in this cozy house. It was difficult finding accommodations in Woodstock appropriate for my parents, my sister, her husband and their 3 small kids, but this house was perfect and I don't know what we would have done without it! It had something for everyone. The kids loved the nearby playgrounds and comfy room upstairs where they watched movies and the adults enjoyed the patio and convenience of being only a short walk from the shops and restaurants. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful scenery and friendly town. We were all very comfortable and relaxed here. The owners were incredibly accommodating and a true pleasure to work with.

We look forward to coming back to stay here again soon.

We had a lovely few days in the Doll House in Woodstock in September. The house is in a good location being just a short walk from the centre of Woodstock and our toddler loved the playground over the road. The house is very well equipped and seemed cared for. Woodstock is a gorgeous village and we enjoyed a number of trips including Killington Mountain and North Hartland Lake.

Great week

We just finished a great week in Woodstock with my wife and 2 daughters. The house was great...very comfortable and clean. The living room being set away from the bedrooms was great as it allowed my daughters to stay up as late as they wished watching movies while we slept soundly in our bedroom. The patio area was great for sipping a glass of wine at the end of the day. And as a golfer, the locale was perfect as the Woodstock Country Club was literally within walking distance.

Perfect place to stay in Woodstock Vermont

Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality and your comfortable home. We very much appreciated the wine and chocolate. I loved the elegant simplicity and the mix of Victorian and “Vermont” styles in your decor. It was great to have the space to relax together and yet have areas where we could be separate. At one point, we had four laptop computers going at one time in the family room. We cooked out on the grill one evening and it worked out perfectly. It was within walking distance to town, so we walked into town several times and to dinner at The Woodstock Inn on Saturday night. The upstairs bathroom is evidently newly completed and it is beautiful.

Many thanks for making this available to us. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

This charming cottage in Woodstock stole my entire families' heart! It is so comfortable and sweetly decorated! My kids loved it so much, they (and my husband and I included) ranked it the favorite stay on our whole vacation! The owners are very accomodating and the village of Woodstock is a real charmer as well! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a cozy, relaxing stay!

Detroiters loved Woodstock

Review Submitted: February 26, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2008
Okay, so we live in the least desirable city in the US...but when we vacation, we really need someplace unforgettable and beautiful...

We found it! This little house in the Village of Woodstock was perfect for us. We loved and were surprised by how nice the house itself is. The kitchen and family room were great - which was fortunate because the weather was too warm for good skiing and we were in the house more than expected. There was plenty of room to escape from the crowd (we were with family, so that was really important), and some beautiful views and great community rooms.

The best thing, though, was Woodstock itself. It was an easy jaunt down to the village for shops, culture, restaurants. The people all were friendly - everyone in this small town treated us like we were neighbors.

The views from the house are great - it is right across from a wonderful cross-country skiing trail and center, with a great - and warm - pool. The ski trails go on forever - far beyond what we could accomplish when we were there. We loved Suicide Six/Woodstock Inn, which reminded us of Michigan skiing without the long lines.

We will go back someday to this home - hopefully to get a taste of the countryside in summer. Robin is a delight to deal with and attends to details meticulously.

A Great Destination

We had a wonderful time in this charming house. Town was only several blocks away, an easy walk for the adults and our older children as well. There were lots of shops to browse in and the several restaurants we tried did not disappoint. The nordic cross country ski center was also within walking or skiing distance from the house. It is located at Woodstocks beautiful golf course. We skiied every day, either on the course or the abutting hills that were well groomed.
The house is well equipped and cozy. The views from the two sitting areas are of the beautiful hills that Woodstock is nestled in. The house was spotless and not wanting for a thing. The queen bed gave us that most resfull nights sleep I've ever had when not in my own bed. We will definitely be returning.
