The right way to visit Cape Cod

Four of us Brits stayed at this cottage in September 2009, and after trawling through hundreds of properties on this website, I'm happy to report that we found the perfect one.
Staying here was like being in the comfort of our own home. It had every amenity we could possibly need. Although I never did find that electric kettle!!
It's a great base to visit all of Cape Cod. Nothing is too far away, and more importantly is was lovely to come back to after a days sightseeing.
Just open a bottle of wine, plug in your ipod and sit in the lounge chatting about the days events. Not something you can do in a hotel room!
The owner, Andrea, was very accomodating for us Brits. She provided our towels and linen to save us the luggage weight, she even came to the cottage on the day we were leaving to give us back our deposit before we left for home. She's a wonderful landlord and there are no hidden surprises. What you see is what you get. Oh yes, plus a lovely bottle of wine that she left to welcome us to her house.
Aafter travelling the West Coast this year, and staying in hotels all along the way, I can honestly say that I much preferred the cottage in cape cod experience to booking in an out of hotels.
I don't suppose I'll ever get the opportunity to go back again but if you're going soon then I'd recommend this cottage to you.

What a great vacation!

This was my 1st time renting a house and after this I will never go back to a hotel if I can help it. This property was fantastic, the owner was there to greet my family and offered numerous recomendations for my visit. I look forward to next year and hope I can come back in the future. Beautiful, Comfortable home for a family vacation!

We had a wonderful time at the Golden Cottage! The house was immaculately clean upon our arrival, and the layout and decor was perfect. There is plenty of room for 8 people, and plenty of seating for meals both indoors and out. This cottage has been recently renovated, so the kitchen and floors were in excellent condition. The very clean and pleasant basement has a pool table and dart board which was great for rainy afternoons! And the outdoor shower was a big hit after days at the beach.
The owner was quick to respond to questions, and is personable and helpful.
The only things I would suggest for improving this cottage would be:
1) adding a little more storage in the kitchen--it was difficult to find a place to store food for the week.
2) fixing the internet connection. The connection was working, but it appeared that the internet provider wanted us to sign up as a new user (this should have been done by the owner of the cottage) to establish a name and a password for the connection.
The location of the cottage is ideal--just a few minutes from both downtown Harwich and Chatham. Also, it is very close to Route 6, which is the main thoroughfare for Cape Cod.
Again, we had a wonderful time! Thank you for allowing us to stay at the Golden Cottage. We will recommend this to anyone who asks!!!
