Great getaway

My family and I very much enjoyed our week at Far Gaze Point. The cottage is wonderful, filled with amazing history and the owner are such wonderful and loving people. The amenities at FGP, such as the washer and dryer, are even better than the ones in my own home! It is a quiet area nestled right in Saugatuck, and it's a very short drive to the beach, which Chris and Carroll make sure you have access to, which we loved. We have a small toddler and a 4 year old and they loved every minute at their "little white cottage". My absolute favorite thing at FGP was a small scrapbook filled with photos and facts about the history, which I poured through many times. A very charming little white cottage, we'll be back for sure!

Beyond Expectations

After hearing that the cottage my husband and I have been renting for over 15 summers was unavailable to us this year because of repair work, we were in somewhat of a tizzy over what to do. We surfed the Internet and after looking at many of the listings, Far Gaze Point caught our eye. We were a bit anxious over the “change”; however we were soon to discover that our choice was a brilliant one. As soon as we met our attentive hosts, we felt immediately “at home” by their gracious welcome and continuous hospitality. When Chris opened the cottage door to us we were absolutely delighted by what we saw. In their renovations, Chris and Carroll, the cottage owner/hosts have achieved that unique blend of offering every modern convenience you could need or want without sacrificing the tradition and style of the family’s original “cozy homey cottage. A wonderful two-week holiday retreat!

Far Gaze Point--- Perfect Peaceful Vacation

bzkd900 Indiana
Review Submitted: August 13, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
Our family enjoyed a lovely week at Far Gaze Point. The cottage is very comfortable and homey, filled with lots of family photos and keepsakes. The kitchen is brand-new and super clean. Big windows make the cottage light and cheery. The location is perfect. A 3-minute drive to restaurants, the beach, and shops, but on a quiet street with no traffic, outside of town. Plenty of hot water, a new washer and dryer, a sunporch, and a big yard made this a great place to stay with children. The owners were available if we needed anything and were very kind.

The Perfect Place of Serenity

JRZ Marshall, Michigan
Review Submitted: July 7, 2008 Date of Stay: December 2007
My visit to Far Gaze Point is the perfect place of serenity. The calm and serene environment is anchored not only in the beautiful view of the Kalamazoo River, but in the sense of family and home, a value of the owners' family. Their spirit of hospitality combined with the strong sense of family traiditions allows us all to come home to our own place of being. The cottage is beautifully decorated with many of the memories of the owners' family. The quiet surroundings provide time for contemplation and reading. For a quiet moment of being at home with yourself or a loved one, Far Gaze Point is truly a spiritual and physical place of rest.

Delightful and comfortable vacation spot

Far Gaze Point is a charming cottage in a wonderful Michigan vacation spot. The outside appearance takes you back to the 1950's, but the inside is fully modernized and decorated with family memorabilia. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this comfortable sport.

Enjoyable Stay

My wife, son, mother, and I stayed at the “Far Gaze Point” cottage this past season, and had a wonderful time. The cottage was bright, cheery, and clean. Both the surrounding yard and neighborhood were quiet and peaceful places to go for a stroll. Downtown Saugatuck is nearby, with many cute, unique shops and restaurants to check out. The riverfront walk along the docks was fun, though the beach at Lake Michigan was a bit breezy the day we were there. There are too many things to see and do in the area to mention them all. The Family who own the cottage were gracious hosts. We plan to make a return visit in the near future.
