Nice House but overpriced :(
I can’t argue that the villa is very nice, plenty of inside and outside space and a lovely pool etc. But I did not feel these alone class this as luxurious.
Firstly the bed linen was very poor, I did not expect to have stained duvets and pillows, with no pillow cases or duvet covers, it was very unhygienic so I attempted to use a second sheet for protection! Plus the duvet cover I had in the lower ground floor was not big enough to cover the bed! Which leads me to another disappointment the downstairs double room were me, my husband and daughter stayed (my husband slept on a mattress on the floor as they were not willing to move a bed in) had very little storage. There was a unit with 4 drawers, only the first 2 were usable. The 3rd and 4th fell out and the worn plastic handles crumbled! This meant that most of our clothes stayed in our suitcases for the week.
The electrics are also very poor, on the Saturday we had no hot water all day, this was extremely disappointing and my husband, father and brother in law waited patiently on a fix before then having to take cold showers as they had already missed part of the Monaco GP qualifying session (expensive tickets!). My sister and I then waited for several more hours before also having to take cold showers, this was extremely unpleasant and with me being 6 months pregnant ended up with a chest infection :(
The electrics continued to cause problems (which the caretaker explanied needed fixed), e.g. when we used the grill on the cooker the trip went and we had no TV, lights etc.
The pool and outside space was interrupted when fires were lit above us and lots of large black partials filled the pool and patios.
I believe they are selling the villa, and I have to say I got a bit of a scare when told an agent visit was arranged during our stay, thankfully this didn’t go ahead.
A car is also recommened, you have to walk either through danergous streets without paths or take the route towards the train station which is longer to reach any shops, beaches etc. all very steep roads!
Owner's Response: Responses to some of the points made:
1. Linens are provided through a professional service and includes towels, sheets and bed linens for every rental. If a problem occurred, should have asked the caretakers for help resolving. If additional linens are required, those should be managed ahead of arrival schedule. In terms of duvets and cold temperature bedding, we provide summer weather covers.
2. The electrical issues were identified as having been caused by a baby bottle warmer which used by the renters. Although asked to unplug and not use, they repeatedly did. Once unplugged, the electrical integrity was restored. The total time with electrical was a question of a few hours.
3. Finally, our rental rates are not adjusted for the GP week unlike others who usually double the rates.
We are always very careful to listen to rental observations and continue to provide the best service possible to our renters.
