WOW….. The house ……well as we have told everyone….on a scale from 1 to 10 it is a 100!!!! Thank you so much we had a wonderful time. Gaby was awesome and very helpful. We enjoyed every moment it was so relaxing. Thanks again for all your help & patience while planning this trip we look forward to doing this again. This time there will not be as many questions as we will now be “seasoned” travelers. Again thank you – you made our vacation very memorable. We want to try and make this a yearly “get away." Just a note, the guys fished Tues, Thurs, Sat and did wonderful. Tues – 40lb Dorado & 95 lb Sail Fish – this was a wonderful dinner, Thurs – 20 lb dorado & 350 lb black marlin, Sat – only one fish caught but took 5 hours to boat – 600 lb blue marlin. Unfortunately, they did not enter the tournament or would have taken 1st but they know for next year. So needless to say we had a wonderful trip – thanks again for your hospitality.

Dissapointed

This home was rented by a family member in hopes of a wonderful weekend getaway home. the drive up to the home is horrible, the streets are Extremely bumpy with huge pot holes, the area is very vacant and lots of construction going on. Once entering the home, i was also disspointed, the home does not look like the pictures, the upstairs sitting area is very small... and there is no way to get to a decent beach that doesnt smell like fish without having to drive about 25-30 minutes. The pool is much smaller than it appears in the pictures. Aside from such a POOR location the home is comfortable. I would recommend looking in the mismaloya area.. it is gorgeous! Very tropical, beach is amazing... Good luck to you.
Owner's Response: La Cruz is a small town undergoing intense growth and infrastructure. Roads, as in much of Mexico especially those areas not in the "Hotel Zone," are dirt and cobblestone, which lends to the rustic appeal but are subject to weather and traffic. The appearance, size and description of the home are well-represented by the photos taken in March 2008. The pool (250 sq ft or 20 meters)accommodates 6-8 guests, the recommended number of inhabitants suitable for the house. Unfortunately, during the rainy season (mid-August to mid-October) much debris is discharged by local rivers, ALL beaches are affected by the runoff, flotsam and clarity of water. The southern areas of the Bahia de Banderas such as Mismaloya are affected more so than the north bay since we have no free-flowing rivers such as the Mismaloya, Nogalito, Tomatlan or Rio Cuale on the north side of the bay.

Great Fishing!

We were impressed from the moment we stepped through the front door

Into the atrium. Casa Perla is spacious, fully equipped like home.

Cable, Internet, appliances, plenty of bedrooms, pool, incredible view… it was much more than we expected. Our family had a great time, shopping, fishing and just kicking back.

We will be back.

Fun Family Vacation

Review Submitted: September 22, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2007
This is a secluded villa off the beaten track of the glitz of the bigger city with all its problems. The sleepy fishing village is real Mexico. The villa is however not the traditional I expected to find in the village. Once inside the property is magnificent. We have traveled extensivley and rarely find such an envirnment that our whole family thouroghly enjoyed. If you want to relax an have a quiet vacation in a great place then this is it. We had a blast driving around eating the food and seeing the sights of this area. This is the way you can live in comfort and enjoy the Mexican culture.

great family retreat

Our family, eight in all, had a great stay here in Nov. 2007. We had a car for travel into Puerto Vallarta. But it was a nice stroll into the village of La Cruz for any incidentals. A quiet, quality retreat to take time to truly relax and recoop.

Beaches all around the area. Restaurants are easy to get to, several within walking distance and dozens within a few miles.

We stocked up with a trip to Puerto Vallarta's huge Wal-Mart near the airport. Got almost everything for the week and used village stores for anything else we needed.

There is a fantastic beach about 5 miles to the west. Miles long and almost no one there. Hard to find such an amazing place on earth with such seclusion.

Kick back and enjoy!

A little bit of Mexican Heaven

Loves Mexico Modesto, California
Review Submitted: September 16, 2008 Date of Stay: February 2008
First, this is a perfect house for 8 people as it is large and the bedrooms rooms are quite separate from omne another. The house itself is terrific, virtually on the water with its own lovely pool and very well stocked. Everything you would ever want is right there and the little town is within 5 minutes walk for breakfast, lunch, dinner or fun, A large new supermarket is 5 minutes away by car. As a traveler to Mexico for many years, I found this to be the perfect getaway.Don't be put off by the dirt road leading to the property, one you are behind the wall of this gorgeous hacienda compound all you can see is ocean and beautiful vistas. The owners are lovely people who were accommodating to our every need. We can't wait to go back!

Walked in and Walked out !

I would not recommend this property, the house does not look like the pictures... I traveled to mexico and rented this house for me and my family, we walked in and walked back out to the nearest hotel. It is located in a not so nice area...the streets are dirt with big holes in it and an abandoned building behind you, the pool is extremely small and not to mention the crabs and cockroaches in the house...we were only refunded 1/2 of our money minus the booking fee and we never even slept there.
Owner's Response: Not quite the real story. The house is on a dirt street (about 3 blocks from paved streets) flanked by million dollar homes. Once inside the compound you can’t see the street or what is across the street. The family walked in and stayed a total of 10 minutes. We offered to take care of any of their concerns immediately. We also offered the family a luxury home in a gated community about 5 blocks away but the family thought that it was too far from Puerto Vallarta and that their teenage children would be too far from the action. Eventually, they ended up in a hotel closer to the action (40 minutes away from the house); hardly the “nearest hotel.”

The guests’ refund was consistent with our written cancellation policy which they had previously agreed to.
