Oh if only my home were this clean! Absolutely charming home and perfect, quiet location on the lake. Came with everything we needed except our clothes and toiletries.
Close enough to town and to Acadia and Bar Harbor, but not so close we had to deal with the tourists. Far more spacious than it looks in the pictures. We vacationed with our 2 daughters and everyone had their own space.
Great deck with a beautiful view of the lake and the mountains and an enclosed porch for the evenings when the bugs came out. Fire pit in convenient location. Lots of wildlife on the lake to see. Located in a little bay of the lake. If we'd owned a boat, we would have brought it along! Lake was plenty large enough to tube or ski on, though we didn't see anyone doing either.
2 full baths accomodated the 3 females in our party. Plenty of hot water for everyone. Linens and bedding were provided and were very clean. Bedrooms upstairs included a space that would be a perfect play area if you have little ones.
We kept our teens busy with Acadia Park, shopping and dining in Bar Harbor, local water park and mini golf and do NOT miss the Lulu Lobster boat tour! This is a great tour if you get seasick easily and do not wish to go too far away from the harbor. Yes it's a 3 hour tour, but the captain is not Gilligan. Also be sure to have tea and popovers on the lawn at Jordan Pond on Acadia. That was recommended by the homes owner and was a great and relaxing afternoon. Rental came with a list of "to do" suggestions, and they were all worth doing.
Owner is well informed about her home and the area and easy to work with. Her local property maintenance team also did a great job answering our questions and suggesting fun things to do.
We will definitely return!
