Great Location

Good location very nice people! A block from Union Station. Landlord is right upstairs (althought everything was fine and we did not need them). Window A/C in the bedroom and portable in the living room so more noisy then central air. Everything was clean and the bed was small but comfortable. Some flooring, appliances and paint appeared to be new. We will be coming back so I guess that gives you the bottom line.

Our Recent Stay at the Suite

The Location says it all for this very convenient property in our Nation's Capitol. Only a few short minutes to walk to Union Station: D.C's busy hub of shops and transportation.

Clean, and functional, the Property was exactly as decribed by the Owners in a safe, quiet and relaxing neighborhood.

A fine coffee shop is on the corner, and another corner had a fine Italian restaurant, virtually, only steps away.

The kitchen is very well equipped and it enabled us to save on restaurant breakfast costs; a small local grocery, also only steps away, is a convenient neighborhood feature.

Upon our arrival, one of the owners met us, right on time and we got to speak with both of them during our stay...this made us feel very much at home.

In short, if you are looking for a good location, priced correctly, in the Nation's Capitol, do consider a stay at "The Suite Upon the Hill".

Four of us stayed in a very nice and friendly basement apartment. The apartment comfortably sleeps four, equipped with all that is necessary. Everything was just as described, the place was clean and comfortable. Union Station and Capitol is really just a few blocks away, just as a nice supermarket. Coffee place across the door is great to jump start a day :) Parking is available in Union Station and in front of the house through the weekend. Owners were very helpful regarding the reservation and thoruogh our stay. Absolutely positive experience, if we're in DC, we would definately stay there again.

Great Choice For Your Stay In D.C.

This is the perfect location for anyone wanting to see all of the sites in Washington, D.C. on foot. The owners are very helpful and courteous. The size of the apartment is great for two or a family of four and it is very clean. If you are traveling by train, it is just a short walk from Union Station and of course you will find easy access to the Washington Metrorail.

It's our first trip to DC and staying at the Suite was truly the icing on the cake of a great trip! The apartment was clean, cosy and well-furnished. It was a comfortable fit for the 4 of us (all adults) and the kitchen is fully equipped if you wish to cook during your stay.

The location was extremely convenient (just a 5-minute walk away from Union Station) and the neighbourhood surprisingly quiet and peaceful considering that it is so near a main station. If you want to buy groceries, there is a well-stocked grocery store less than 10 minutes away from the apartment on foot.

We were also extremely grateful to Ingrid and Deon's hospitality. They were very helpful in helping us secure a good parking lot for our rental vehicle (right in front of the apartment over the weekend!) and also checking in on us now and then to make sure everything was fine. Staying at their apartment truly made our trip to DC memorable. Highly recommended!

Convenient, quiet and cozy best describes the " Suite Up On The Hill".

The location is perfect to take in all the sights. Leave the car behind and catch the bus at Union Station, less than 2 blocks.

The neighborhood is busting with positive energy and countless dining options: Italian, Mexican, and American are all a short walk.

Our hosts, Ingrid and Deon were gracious and welcoming. We visited " Suite Up On The Hill" with our children, age 8 & 6, and look forward to additional visits in the coming years.

small but neat and clean place in a very convenient location. Very close to union station (has lots of eating places) and within walking distance to the Capitol, library of congress etc. Safe and quiet neighborhood. This was our second stay here. Property owners are friendly people and the place is reasonably priced.

Suite on the Hill is the Greatest

Review Submitted: June 2, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
Ingrid and Deon are thoughtful and helpful hosts and made us feel very welcome and comfortable the minute we arrived. Their location is terrific. The neighborhood is friendly and just four blocks to the Capitol and to great restaurants and pubs on the South side of the Capitol -- and just a couple of blocks to Union Station. I loved the old brownstone homes and staying in a neighborhood setting rather than in a hotel. We will always have fond memories of our stay and Ingrid and Deon's gracious hospitality.

Car-free DC tour with middle-schoolers

Review Submitted: October 7, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
This is a wonderful base for touring monuments, memorials, museums, Capital, White House, etc. Only a block from Union Station, the METRO made travel quick and was itself a treat for our suburban kids from Colorado. By choice, we walked alot, too.

The owners are gracious and cordial. Communicating about the reservation was easy, both via phone and e-mail. We didn't need anything, but it was obvious Ingrid was open to questions and requests. Our security deposit was returned quickly, with a thank-you note.

The apartment is cheery, bright, inviting and clean. It's cozy, so most comfortable for 1 or 2 people. We RV for 3 months at a time so it was spacious for the 4 of us. The 10 & 12 year-old did fine on the sofa bed, but larger teens might be uncomfortable. The kids came down with bad colds so an apartment was wonderful for resting up & cooking in. Tschiffely Pharmacy in Union Station was handy for this need, and the grocery across the street is well-stocked for creating simple meals.

Our 3G wireless modem made a good connection, so we didn't try the house internet connection. Wish we had spent more time in Union Station, and hear the moonlight monument tour is really good... next time.

Had a wonderful time. Ingrid keeps a clean place. The location is central, so no need for a car to get anywhere.

I highly recommend the unit.
