Perfect!

My friends and I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful house during our October 2008 vacation. From the moment we walked in, we were in awe of this beautiful property. The house is immaculate and has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. It is spacious and well-equipped, beautifully decorated and in a perfect location. As photographers, we were never at a loss for beautiful, scenic locations to visit and being peak Autumn leaf season was the icing on the cake.

You will not regret one moment of choosing this location for your New Hampshire vacation. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer!
Owner's Response: Liz,
So glad you and your friends enjoyed your stay.
What a treat to have two eager photographers and a romance writer rave about their experience. I understand that Humphrey's Ledge will be featured in an upcoming novel! The pictures you shared of the waterfalls and autumn foliage were a treat.

Let me know when the novel comes out! Thanks again for taking the time to send a review. Regards, Birdy

Heaven in New Hampshire

WOW! What a wonderful place to take in God's beauty! Thank you Birdy and Sam for sharing your beautiful vacation home with us. This grand home is so inviting the moment you step into it and is supplied with every emenity you possibly need. I can't say enough about the view from the home. Huge open windows facing Humphrey's Ledge...absolutely breathtaking! Our grandchildren loved the game room and hung out there most of the time. My husband, daughter and I played a few games of ping-pong too. Boy, we haven't done that in a while. We wanted a place with plenty of room surrounded with blissful peace. That's just what we got when we stayed at Humphrey's Ledge Mountain House. Our family can't wait to go back. Once again, Birdy and Sam, thank you so very, very much. From reading your reviews and guest book, we realized just how much you have touched so many lives by sharing your vacation home. God bless you both!

"3 people from a small town in northern Mainem, Houlton ME to be exact made amny fond memories to be shared for a lifetime at this wonderful place. We even shared the door yard with some wildlife one night. As the grill was going and the steaks were cooking, a mother bear and her two little cubs decided to come in the yard to see what was for supper. The hardest part of it all is the quiet that sets in as we have to leave such a wonderful place. Thanks for the hospitality and all the comforts of home.

PS: and like all good vacations, the sun is truely shining as we leave. "

A great family holiday home

We had a great week at the house. It was clean and well presented. It had everything we needed for a perfect holiday in the mountains!

The kids loved the sandbox and all the outside toys. The basement with all the inside toys was great for those rainy days. The kids loved reading all the books and were very at home!

The proximity to Storyland was great - it meant a very short journey home for our two toddlers after 7 hours at the park.

This house has lots of space and is a big three-bedroom property. The views are stunning and the deck is perfect for relaxing on a hot day.

Birdy is very welcoming and was able to suggest some great ideas to help us make the most of our time in the area. We would definitely recommend this holiday home for families looking for a home away from home!

Peaceful Retreat; Breathtaking Views

There are several great things about the Humphrey's Ledge house; but at the top of the list is that beautiful view from the deck. We ate in each night to take in the same view from the dining area. The kitchen was fully equipped. Off of the master bedroom is a beautiful sunken jacuzzi tub situated with a window view. The finished basement was the ultimate hang out place with tv, games and an awesome ping pong table. The house is very conveniently located near both Storyland and the North Conway area. It is also very close to our favorite hiking area, Diana's Baths. It is a great house and I would highly recommend it. We look forward to going back!

What a view! We had a great stay in this home - and it's a perfect location. Our family spent most of the trip hiking and viewing the beautiful foliage. The home was clean, spacious and comfortable. The rental logistics were easy and no hassle, we had no issues.

Sorry I'm late in writing this review.

My wife and I and our good friend Liz went to Humphrey's Ledge House in mid October 2008. We hit the peak fall colors just at the right time. The house is beuatiful, open and comfortable with fantastic views out the windows. We had a very memorable trip and Liz and I took huundreds of photos while my wife gathered material for a romance book. Birdy was fun and very willing to help with whatever we needed.

We highly recomend Humphrey's Ledge to everyone!

Our first visit to New Hampshire and we all loved it! We couldn't have picked a nicer place to stay. Even when you were "home" you felt like you were outdoors with all the beautiful windows/views. We loved starting the day on your deck as well as barbequeing a coupled of times. One night when we were cooking on the deck, we got to watch some rock climbers in the distance. The home is just as nice as the pictures on the web. We really took advantage of our time here -with lots of hiking. Some easy and some difficult. We played in the water both at Dianna's Bath and the Saco River (we took out kayaks). Some went horseback riding down the street. We picked strawberries and had shortcake for dessert one night. Cathedral Ledge was gorgeous and the ride to the top of Mt Washington was awesome - the views were breath taking. We loved driving everywhere - the journey to where we were going was just as much fun as the destination. We even went on a moose watch and saw 5 moose including a mom and a baby. Every waterfall we hiked to had its own appeal. If you love being out in nature, this is the place for you. North Conway is a very nice town with quaint shops, places to eat and if you like outlets, there are some of those too. We hope to go back again some day and if we do, this is where we would stay.

Wonderful Christmas & New Year Holiday 2008

Bill.T. Essex, UK
Review Submitted: February 19, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
We booked early in the year and couldnt wait to get out to the States for our 17 day holiday. We stayed a couple of nights in Boston before arriving at the house. We were a little bit early mainly due to the blizzard forecast but Birdy didnt mind and she welcomed us with open arms. She was just finishing decorating the house and provided us with decorations for the tree which we cut at a local farm. What a location! The house was everything we wanted and more. Both of the Children enjoyed chilling out in the house as well as sledging in the garden (sledge provided by Birdy even though we bought one on the way up from Boston). Coming from the UK where never get any snow it was fantastic to get 23 inches of the stuff during our stay. The trees and gardens at the house looked lovely covered in Snow. As first time skiers we headed straight to Mount Cranmore which we found to be perfect for us and the kids, with both of the children learning to Ski during our stay. However we would recommend the guys at Heavens Ski Shop at Intervale as they were very helpful & a lot cheaper with the hire equipment than Mount Cranmore. We would recommend Birdys house to anyone young and old alike. The local amenities were superb (recommend snow mobiling if you can stand the cold), plenty of good quality Restaraunts and snack bars when not cooking in the house. All in all we had a great family holiday and we would love to go back maybe to experience the summer or fall or even another Xmas & New Year! Many thanks from us all.
Owner's Response: Bill, Thanks for your kind words. I so much enjoyed your family and the opportunity to contribute to the success of your New England Christmas holiday. We've had several similar snow storms since your visit, but no one has enjoyed the "white" stuff more than your children. Sorry we didn't arrange a dinner at our place - our own family travel plans got in the way. Next time for sure! We learn so much from our European visitors and enjoy sharing what's similar and different about our "New England". Regards to the rest of the family. Birdy
