I've been taking tropical vacations for more than 20 years, and I had the best vacation ever here at jobos beach.
What can be better than easy going and accommodating hosts, with a happy family, along with a walk over the dune to a fabulous beach for walking bogey boarding and surfing.
The apartment had everything anyone needs on vacation.
We are planning on many many returns!

My husband, son(21) and I spent a great week at this apt. in Jan. We were to arrive earlier, but a snowstorm in Charlotte delayed us 3 days...Amber was very understanding...and lucky for us..noone else expected til the next week!
Place was very clean..enjoyed the grill (charcoal provided)..was just a very short 1-2 minute walk to the beach..up a little hill,then down, with the great deck in between!...can walk both ways on the beach for miles...Econo grocery store 10 minutes west is the grocery store we bought all our food at...and beer & rum!
Amber & Peggy and all of their family were very helpful, and answered lots of questions! My son was very happy here, as had cable (English) and could be on his computer! But mostly he loved the ocean!

First of all the place was perfect for our trip. The apartment was clean and all amenities listed were there. You have private parking with a gate. The owners were super nice and helpful. Theres a private path to the beach in the backyard which made it easy to check the surf. We'd love to spend another trip with them!

I had a great time at this apartment with my family, its was my sister and mother and me. The place was comfortable it had everything that we needed for the stay. It was well equipped in the kitchen, I just used it for breakfast and sometimes in the evening for a quick snack. The path to the beach was perfect I can say its was having your own private beach behind the apartment and the sun deck was great to use if you don't want to go to sand part of the beach. In overall I had a great time at the place it was quite and comfortable. The best part was hearing the ocean in the evening while I slept and just waking up with that sound, that really made my day. I will next time book that apartment again when I go back to Isabela, Puerto Rico. Its my home town and I really enjoy staying what is familiar. I want to thank Amber for her hospitality and making us feel comfortable. My mother and sister stated that they felt at home and they loved the way she took her time to show us the apartment and explain what was around for us. That was the plus for us that the owner was friendly and hospitable. Thanks Amber from me and my family.

We booked this place for my wifes 50th b-day and loved it, the family members and location was great. located in the middle of Shacks beach and Jobos beach made this place the perfect spot for us. The apartment was exactly as described and very cozy. On the rainy time of the day we were still able to enjoy ourselves by having a BBQ on the deck and relaxing in the chairs. Very quite even with the Vet office downstairs, private parking behind a secure gate was provided.
This apartment was very well equipment for everyday use and was made like you were at the cottage. The deck that over look the ocean was a great spot to take in some sun and have a relaxing drink of your choice.
This being our second time to Puerto Rico were very happy with our choice and would stay here again, infact this will be a choice of stay next time and can not wait to head back.

CONS: I unfortunately have to disagree with a previous review about the apartment being spotless.. the comforters on all beds were stained and looked old and dingy. Also, the apartment is on the second floor of a Vet's office, so when we turned the A/C unit on somehow it started smelling like wet dog all over it. There is no view of the water from the apartment or balcony, neither from the cabana were the hammock and grill are. To get to the beach: Go past the owner's brother apartment next door to ours (he ocassionally hangs out in the balcony for a smoke), descend a flight of stairs, walk past the owners house (next door), walk about 200 steps past the cabana, then a sand pathway up a steep hill, past the nice wood deck, then down hill.
PROS: The apartment has 2 bedrooms and a sofabed, so it may accomodate a fairly large family. It seems to have been updated recently as far as cabinets, furniture and bathroom goes. The kitchen is fully stocked. You can hear the waves from one side of the apartment, its very relaxing specially at night. Seating in the deck you can experience the sound of the waves, the cool breeze and the amazing views. The owners did not mind when we invited a small group of friends over for a BBQ on the deck, which was a plus. And we enjoyed the comfort and safety of having a remote control gate opener to park our car inside the property between the apartment and the the owners home.

Again, we enjoyed the sights and sounds, not so much the scents. Would've loved to be able to see the water from the balcony. And would've preferred newer bedcovers. Didn't really mind the walk to the beach, but thought some people might be interested to know what you could be dealing with. And as stated, was great to have the gate remote controller to take with us when we went out, felt very safe when pulling in the grass driveway. For the price is an OK vacation rental. Next time we will stay somewhere else though.

This beachfront apartment is really a gem. First of all it is spotlessly clean and comfortable. Every amenity is supplied in this two bedroom unit. It has everything a family needs for a perfect surf trip. Most importantly the surf is right out front. World class Jobos beach is just a few yards away. But as a surf wife the best part for me was when the surfers headed off for the beach. The apartment is beautifully decorated with nice couches comfortable beds and a full kitchen. My favorite place was the patio outside. This wooden deck overlooks a little forest of coconut palms and almond trees. Great for relaxing the bamboo furniture is exquisite. I sat for hours listening to the ocean waves. I watched and listened to all sorts of beautiful birds. Occasionally a bright green iguana scampered through the trees. The upstairs deck is cool and has a salty ocean breeze all day. When I was ready for some sun I went out to the sun deck. Just down the stairs and a few steps up to the sand dune is the sun deck. It was great for soaking up some sun on the fully reclining lounge chairs. This is also the best spot to watch the spectacular sun rises and sunsets. I also enjoyed watching the surfers and kite boarders out on the ocean. In the sky were ultralights and powered parachutes. On the shore a few fisherman enjoyed their catch of the day. A short walk down the beach to the bay was a great snorkeling spot. Even the most novice swimmer like myself or a small child can enjoy the calm waters in the bay. I saw hundreds of brightly colored fish and even a small octopus on my snorkel adventure. When I was ready for a break from the sun, I retreated to the Bohio. This covered patio is next to the grassy lawn. It is a safe place for the small kids to play in the grass. The hanging hammocks in the Bohio are a relaxing place for an afternoon read or nap. We barbequed our dinners on the upper deck the grill and picnic table are provided. There is even late night entertainment down the street. Close enough to walk to live music and a drink but far enough away not to disturb a peaceful night’s sleep.
All in all this place Jobos Beach Apartment is a surfers' wife paradise. I give it five stars all the way.

We heard about this place from friends. They said it was great, and they sure were right! What a peaceful, relaxing vacation!The front porch was great for morning coffee, and the beach deck was a great place to watch the sun set. We walked to the tide pools in the mornings and had our choice of surfing, swimming, or snorkling within a short walking distance. There is plenty of great shopping and dining close by. The owners were extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They were sure to let us know about all the local attractions. We're planning another trip soon, but next time we're taking our daughters and their families with us! I can't wait!
