The Montanez Family Review

Review Submitted: August 14, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
Our stay in Rogers House was very relaxing and fun.The house was very clean and organized, the location was very quiet and relaxing. The view of the river is beautiful. and we saw plenty of animals such as wild turkeys, rabbits, woodpeckers, bald eagles and the kids caught 3 frogs. We all loved the pool table downstairs. During our stay we went bowling and shopping at the Mall and the shopping center, the food there is very affordable. We grilled and built fires and made smores. We also went to the county Fair which we all enjoyed very much. Roger and Steve are very pleasant people. They made our stay very enjoyable. At the house there is plenty of space for everyone to relax. At Route Six shopping Mall theres a Theater, a Fun Center, Mcdonalds,Wendys,Arbys, a big Kmart, Walmart And many others. We took plenty of pictures and we also recommend this vacation home.

quiet and peaceful get-away

CJKJM PA
Review Submitted: July 21, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
My family of 6 rented this house for a week's vacation. The house was very clean and well maintained. Everything we needed was in the house and the kitchen was wonderfully equipped as we did a lot of our own cooking while there. The house was roomy and beautifully decorated causing it to feel like someones private home rather than a vacation rental home. The owner was extremely helpful, accessible and seemed to genuinely care that our week there was a positive one ( and it certainly was). We would highly recommend this home as a great getaway vacation spot. We hope to return again when in need of some R & R.

Great get away from it all place

This is an excellent place to sit back and read. It's very private, at the end of a dirt road, and we never saw another person. The house is roomy and well laid out, the furnishings are very comfortable, everything was clean and in good shape, and everything we needed was there. The Internet connection is a bit slow and there's no cell phone service; neither of those mattered to us. There are no stores nearby but there's a good supermarket (Peck's) about 5 miles north in Callicoon NY, which also has several restaurants and other services. We would definitely recommend this house for a getaway.

Very Relaxing Getaway

Review Submitted: May 26, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
The house is exactly as described and did not disappoint at all. It is a little big for 2 people like we had but it was very comfortable. I don't think there was anything that we did not like about our stay. I would highly recommend this house to anyone interested.

Quick Weekend Getaway

AMR820 Brooklyn
Review Submitted: May 13, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
We had a great weekend in Damascus. Everything was exactly as described in the profile for the property. The house was clean and orderly when we arrived and more charming than I could imagine from the photos. There was plenty of space for all of us to be together or to have time alone and the scenery was a wonderful contrast to the city. Roger was so lovely to deal with - quick, friendly and really knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle. The Delaware River is beautiful and we even saw a bald eagle!

March get-away week.

Rested Mom Central PA
Review Submitted: March 16, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
Our family of 4 included two older boys (15 + 20) who were looking for R&R. The River House was found just as pictured and described on the website. It is clean, nicely decorated, and comfortable, with attractive items and interesting artwork throughout. The beds and linens were very nice and comfortable. The furniture is attractive and practical, and the floor plan allowed for everyone to find a cozy corner of their own. My sons both enjoyed tending the fire in the huge fireplace and shooting pool in the lower level rec room. There are 4 televisions (on satellite) so everyone can watch what they like. My boys each brought their own gaming systems to play as well. The large dining table was great for meals and family games. The kitchen is well equipped with lots of dishes & mixing bowls, pots, pans and nice bake ware. There is a very nice selection of books for children and adults, and some family games and puzzles. The secluded location was wonderfully quiet, and the view of the river can be enjoyed from many places in the home as well as on the deck. We drove down to the river access lot to park, and walked with our dog along the river road for miles. Although early March is not always a great time of year for weather in PA, the home's amenities are enjoyable year-round. The owner and caretaker are both very attentive, accessible, and pleasant. I would recommend this home to anyone appreciates quiet repose, rest, & seclusion.

private and relaxing

Review Submitted: January 26, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
My family rented this property over the winter holiday and had a wonderful relaxing time. We had children ranging in age from 6 months to 3 1/2 years of age; adults; and dogs. Everyone enjoyed the extremely clean house, new appliances, abundant kitchen utensils (very clean and seemingly new), televisions in every room, and beautiful fireplace. The kids enjoyed sledding in the back yard. The spiral staircase down to the family room is a little tricky for children and pets but the room is lovely and spacious. The house is very private and remote, if you are looking to just "hang out" and relax then this is the place for you. The caretaker was extremely helpful with regards to directions and local activities.

Home Away From Home with a View!

Peggy and Lucy New York City
Review Submitted: December 4, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
My friend and I - both single moms - made the easy drive up from New York City with a van-load of kids at the end of summer. The house was perfect not only for moms needing a rest but also for city kids needing a fine balance of nature and cable!! The house had everything we needed; clean and comfortable with all amenities well thought out. Kitchen perfectly kitted; plenty of towels; nice linens; stereo, cable and pool table downstairs (quiet for those of us enjoying upstairs and the lovely view from the deck!). We definitely plan to return. Only next time will be a girls only for all the tired moms we know!!

Tranquil relaxation

Susan & Canio Old Forge PA
Review Submitted: October 4, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
As an end of September long weekend, this home and it's location was a perfect get-away. The decor was both attractive and comfortable, and the home itself speaks of pride of craftmanship and ownership. The views and of the surrounding countryside and the Delaware river, along with the opportunity to observe various wildlife made for a truly serene and relaxing time. Although we experienced a rainy weekend, it did nothing to dampen our enjoyment.
Checking out antique stores and pubs in nearby Caliccon and Narrowsburg provided enough diversion, as staying home with woodfires in both the fireplace and stove were enjoyment enough. A big thanks to both Roger and Penny for their attention to detail and going the extra mile to ensure all was in order for us to have a stress-free vacation.

Beautiful Mountain getaway

Two families met at this beautiful house in the mountains. The view is fabulous and the house is close enough to make day excursions with smaller children. Roger was friendly and helpful and we would recommend this property to friends.
