Our vacation at Mitchell View was exactly what we were looking for! The home was situated on top of the mountain and had incredible views of the Blue Ridge Mountains from our deck. We hiked the entire weekend and it was always nice to come home and relax our old muscles in the hot tub. And it was convenient having a quaint downtown at the bottom of the mountain for groceries and restaurants. The home is clean and with satellite TV and the game room, we had plenty to do! We will definitely visit Mitchell View again!

The pictures are true and the owners were very nice. Enjoyed a relaxing week and took several day trips to the state parks. The house was clean and located close to town.

A wonderful, comfortable mountain home that had plenty to do while still feeling like you had escaped to a mountain retreat. Black Mountain is a wonderful, quaint town with good food, breweries, and trout fishing nearby. Mitchell View lacked nothing to make for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The weather was so nice, we didn't do the hot tub as much as we would have liked, but the one time we did was fantastic. The bonfire pit and large porches were great and the great hi-top kitchen table was the regular gathering place. The views and trails were great. Wish we had stayed longer.

This is the most perfect rental property I have ever stayed in. The owners have thought of everything. If there is a question or problem, they are just a phone call away. The view is beautiful. The trails are challenging and beautiful. Everything about this cabin makes it a great vacation!

I brought my family from Central Florida to the beautiful mountains of NC as experienced from Mitchell view. The directions for finding the cabin were perfect, and took us directly to a peaceful hide away in the mountains with fabulous views! When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised to find a wonderfully decorated Christmas tree greeting us as we came inside. The cabin was clean, spacious, comfortable, and accommodating in all the ways you would expect from a home. There was nothing we needed outside of the food we brought that was not right there waiting.... The main floor with the kitchen / living room has a fireplace and with the temperature in the twenties during our stay I kept a cozy fire burning much of the time. The lower floor has a wood burning stove, carpet, bumper pool and leather couches and the kids pretty much lived down there. The house has 2 large tvs, a collection of movies, and tons of board games!

On the mountain besides the stunning views there is plenty of place to hike or just walk the dog and we made time for this on several occasions. The creek in the valley below no only adds to the scenery, the sound of it from the deck of the house is wonderful.

We left the house for a couple of outings: Builtmore, the GrovePark Inn, shopping in the town of Black Mountain..... but were always eager to get back to the cabin.

This one's a winner guys... you will not be disappointed in your stay here!

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Mitchell View during our visit to attend a family wedding in Black Mountain. The house is absolutely beautiful. Pictures cannot capture the true beauty of the mountains or the crisp clean air.
We loved relaxing by the fireplace as well as sitting on the deck and enjoying the spectacular views. Though we didn't use the hot tub, it is definitely a great option to have.
Mike was very helpful and we actually met him as we were arriving. He was making sure that no detail was overlooked. It was good to know that the owners are around if there was anything that we needed. As it was,everything went perfectly.
The town of Black Mountain is a quaint and quiet place that made us feel very relaxed and comfortable. Groceries, gas and beverages are convienently located on your way into town. Interstate 40 is only about 5 miles from the house.Town Hardware and General store is a must stop. The gentleman at the counter who waited on us was most pleasant as well as being so careful as he packed all of our purchases for our drive home.
Just south on highway 9 from the house was a place called The Straightaway Cafe. Just a gem to find. We even took home some wondeful blueberry cobbler to enjoy by the fire with some hot chocolate.
Asheville is just a short drive away. Lunch at Tupelo Honey was well worth the wait. The Blue Ridge mountains and all that they have to offer are literally at your doorstep.
Prior to our stay I wasn't sure what the area would be like. Now, I have already recommended Black Mountain and especially Mitchell View and any of the other High Rock Rentals vacation homes to friends and family. It may have been the best rental we have ever had.

We had a fantastic time on Black Mountain- this is a wonderful house. The photo's don' t do it justice and the views are picture worthy. Everything was comfortable, new and in working order. The home is well furnished. Mike was great to work with and we will return given its proximity to Asheville and Mt. Mitchell. We would recommend this property for a quite getaway.

Everything about this cabin was authentic from the Mason jar and coca cola glasses in the cupboard, to the fire pit just steps from your door. When we arrived, Mike was stocking a little more firewood for the cabin, and before we could get into the door, the kids had already started playing air hockey. Inside we were greeted with a bottle of wine and a notebook of information explaining all the details and features of the home. This cabin is so relaxing and peaceful. We cooked all of our meals, with a fully stocked kitchen, everything you can possibly need. We even baked a birthday cake. The highlight of our trip was sitting in the hot tub at night looking up at the stars. Amazing. You honestly feel so at home, and it is unbelievable that as much as this cabin is rented, it looks and feels so new and clean, it's as if you are the first ones to stay there. Mike you can truly see the passion that you have for this, and I am sure all your properties. It is greatly appreciated, and we will return.
