This classic Cape home has over 3,000 sq. feet is perfect for families or groups, the 5 bedrooms include 2 on the first floor and 3 on the second. Open floor plan, large modern kitchen, large dining room and wet bar are perfect for entertaining. The finished basement includes a pool table for indoor recreation. Outside, the oversized deck has a gas grill and plenty of patio furniture. The private back yard creates a great environment for horseshoes or croquet.
Located on a quiet side street and only a 5 minute walk from beautiful Red River Beach. Minutes to either quaint Harwichport or Chatham centers. Close to the Cape bike path as well. Walk to great restaurants and an ice cream parlor.

Just got back from a mini-college reunion(25 yrs), 10 women flying solo for a long weekend, it couldn't have been any better! It is dead winter and we had plenty of options: spas, shops, restaurants(my favorite lunch @ the Impudent Oyster in Chatham), bars, or just stay in the house and enjoy the well designed space. Listing and pictures very accurate. We cooked a huge pasta dinner, played taboo on the large 10 seated dining room, had a wonderful fire blazing one nite, and hung out in the beautiful family room with 2 sets of sliders and a window overlooking a full length deck and very pretty backyard. There is a huge basement to play pool and ping pong if there is a rainy day. We brought 2 bean bag chairs so all 10 of us had a comfy seats. The open concept with the large kitchen with eat in breakfast table, worked out great for several women in the kitchen while still enjoying the conversations in family room, and no bumping into each other with the lengthy lay out. With 3.5 baths there was never an issue for use of a bathroom. Master bedroom has endless space. The ocean is accurately stated on site as .3 mile so the summertime would be optimal for this lovely vacation spot. There were also 2 ice cream shops at the end of the street for a nice summer stroll. Neighborhood is classy and private. This property works well for adults, but has many accommodations for children, I believe 2 large families, or 3 small families would be very happy here. Brian the owner checked in with me pre-during-and post vaca to make sure we had everything we needed, he was very friendly and very accommodating.

Great for a family gathering

We rented this home for a family gathering over Christmas weekend, 3 adult siblings + families + grandparents (8 adults, 3 small children). It was pretty much perfect for what we were looking for, and nicer than the pictures indicate. Everything was clean and in good order. The kitchen was well stocked. The dining room table was big enough for a family dinner. And the beds were very comfortable.
The only caveat that I have for large groups is that the couches in the living room only seat about 7 adults comfortably - one more loveseat would have made it perfect for us. But that's a very minor point. There were additional seats in the nearby breakfast nook (just not as comfortable).
Brian was highly responsive throughout the entire process, and we knew from the start that we were in good hands. We would certainly stay there again.

Great family Rental!

This is a great rental for a big or extended family vacation! Enough bedrooms and bathrooms for a big bunch with privacy for everyone. Close proximity to the beach and to route 28. The house has a great deck and dining room for big family meals and the kids love to play in the game room in the basement! Lots of amenities for a comfortable home-like stay and the owner is extremely helpful and accommodating. All of our guests loved their stay here and we look forward to returning with our family next year!

Excellent time, home exactly as described

Really enjoyed a recent rental at 64 Schooner Drive with a few other couples for a wedding at the Wychmere Beach Club. The house is extremely close to the club -- maybe a five-minute ride -- making it ideal for anyone attending an event there and needing a place close-by.
The rooms are all exactly as described in the listing. The master bedroom on the second floor is enormous, and the other master on the first floor is spacious as well. Both have attached baths. Three other rooms have twin bedrooms, allowing the house to sleep 10 people comfortably.
The basement has pool, air hockey, ping pong and foosball tables, making even a rainy day on Cape Cod an enjoyable one. And the back deck and back yard are two other great features -- there's lots of room to hang out and share the summer with friends.
The owner, Brian, deserves a special mention. He was incredibly easy to work with, communicated with us frequently during the process, and helped us navigate to Cape Cod, letting us know alternate routes to travel if the Sagamore Bridge was backed up and giving us advice about better times to travel. He's also extremely flexible and willing to work with renters. My experience with other homeowners has never gone so well.
I'd highly recommend renting this house for anyone with a medium-sized family or a small group for an event on Cape Cod. The proximity to Wychmere, the beach and other shops is excellent, and the house really does feel like home -- even if just for a few days.

Turkey Day on Schooner Drive

My family spent Thanksgiving weekend at the house. We had 11 adults for dinner and the beautiful, spacious dining room accomodated us very comfortably. There was no problem having 3 or 4 adults in the kitchen cooking either. The layout of the house gave us plenty of space for group gatherings or for getting away from each other. The weather cooperated and we had our morning coffee on the deck each day as well as playing outdoor games on the lawn. Our walks to the beach were wonderful too. Very comfortable at this house! We settled right in as soon as we arrived. It was very clean, accurately described in the listing, the owner was easily accessible. We will definitely use it for future get-aways......

I rented this house for myself & my friends to stay in the week leading up to my wedding. This house was perfect! First off, it was very clean and well-maintained and Brian was so wonderful to work with. The house was centrally located, had a great back deck for barbequing, great open space within the house, it provided plenty of room for everyone to sleep (we had 11 people!) and the game room brought hours of fun. This house is perfect for entertaining. I look forward to renting this property again with my family for many years to come.. Thanks Brian!

Loved this house

We absolutely love this house! We were on the Cape for my nephew's wedding and had multiple dinners and brunches with family (quite large groups of people) over the 5 days we were there. The location is in a nice neighborhood that is convenient to the beach (walking distance) and to town and you have a nice sense of privacy. The property is well maintained as is the house. The kitchen is well stocked, there is a great grill and deck and the game room was perfect for the kids! The house is laid out very nicely and there is plenty of space for a large group (10+) to comfortably live. The beds are comfortable, wireless internet is throughout the house and the TV/sound system works beautifully. We attached our iPod to the Bose system for music. The owner is very accommodating and responsive which we really appreciated!

Great house, great vacation

We are an extended family of 26 people up who were at the Cape for a family vacation culminating in a wedding at the end of our stay. We rented two houses on Schooner Drive and 12 of our group stayed at the Richie House. The house has been updated and is in excellent condition and the deck is absolutely fabulous! The rooms are exactly as the pictures depict them and the house was spotless. The beach is a reasonable walk from the house and the town of Harwichport is very close by. We had a great time and if we return to the Cape we would definitely try to stay at the house again. Brian was extremely helpful in the months leading up to our stay and even during the stay when we had a question. I gave a rating of excellent because it really was with one small exception. The house does not have central air and there were a few nights where the heat and humidity made things a little uncomfortable. However, this was the hottest summer on record in the northeast so I imagine under normal circumstances, it would not have been an issue. Overall a great vacation, the house was so nice, we are now officially spoiled trying to find comparable houses to rent for our large group in locations other than the Cape.

Great rental for a week on the Cape

We would second everything other reviewers have said about this house. It was very well maintained and had all the amenities you could want - spacious kitchen and common areas, nice deck with a grill and lots of seating, great game room in the basement, and a short walk to both quiet and busier beaches. Our group of 10 slept comfortably and had a great time (despite some bad weather), and Brian was wonderful to work with.
