My family, along with extended family, recently vacationed on Oahu and attended my brother in-law's wedding on the North Shore. I have been to Oahu well over 30 times; in fact, many consider me a local! This is my first time staying in KoOlina. I've visited it a handful of times and most recently, about two years ago, visited it for the first time with my young children.
This area is the ULTIMATE place to stay if you have children. Very quiet and most of all, very safe for the children to play in the lagoons.
Now onto my experience with the owner, Thuha, and the communication I had with her the entire time. Very responsive and patient. I must've asked a hundred questions and she answered each and every one of them. Thank you, Thuha!
Lastly, the property...it was absolutely beautiful. The property grounds were well-kept. The staff at the front desk were very helpful. But the unit itself was to die for. Very clean, modern and upscale. It had everything we needed to feel 'at home' while on our week-long vacation. It even had toys in the closets for the kids to take to the beach with them!
Speaking of the beach, the property is right on the beach. A 3 minute walk from the moment you leave the door to the unit, to the time you step foot onto the sand. Oh, and en route to the beach, you pass by the beautiful pool filled with patio furniture to soak in the rays along with high-end BBQs for the guests to use.
All in all, I highly recommend this place and doing business with Thuha. If at any time in the future my family and I decide to vacation out on Oahu again, I would not hesitate to stay here again. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being best), I give this place a 15!

EXCEPTIONAL RENTAL

Booked our last minute family vacation very easy! Owner was prompt at getting back, organized, making our reservations easy. Condo itself is beautiful, well furnished, with every amenity you could need. Resort staff were amazing. Security and grounds keepers around constantly. Great unit for families, although the pool we overlook is a "quiet" pool primarily for adults and our young kids wanted to use it as it is easier access then the kids pool area towards the front of resort. Very spacious allowing my husband and I privacy with our master on one side and a long hallway that wrapped around on the other side with two additional bedrooms for the kids. PERFECT!!!
Only two downers during our week stay, which had nothing to do with the rental itself. The resort outside bar/sitting area overlooking the lagoon closes before or right at 9pm sharp, so had some wonderful evenings lounging and taking in the scenery cut short. You can however leave the grounds but gates are locked so you have to take a seperate venture back to the front entrance to get into the resort. Also, happened to have some very noisey neighbors the last couple days but it is a large condo and to be expected.
We will definantly be frequent vacationers when this condo is available. THANK YOU THUHA for everything!!!

Truly Spectacular Condo

During the past 20 years, I've stayed at many different hotels, private homes, and condos on the island of Oahu. By far, this condo is the very BEST. It is truly what is depicted in the pictures -- high tech kitchen, clean and crisp bedrooms, large bathrooms, and so roomy! I tend to overpack but when you stay here, you don't have to stuff your suitcase with clothes because the washer/dryer turned out to be so incredibly useful. We loved relaxing on the balcony, overlooking the huge lap pool, enjoying the koi ponds, and swimming in the garden pool.
The concierge was very helpful, arranging many events for us. The owners provided beach chairs, umbrellas, and water "toys" for us. We had such a wonderful time at the lagoon. Because the villas are privately owned, the complex was quiet and not packed like the Marriott next door.

Perfection!

Our family of four (2 adults, 2 teens) had an excellent time at Ko Olina and thoroughly enjoyed staying at Thuha's condo. The floor plan is perfect with 2 bedrooms on one side of the condo where each kid had their own well-appointed bathroom and parents on the other side with our own huge master bath. The closets are huge and with plenty of wooden hangers. There are even two plush robes just like at the Four Seasons.
The kitchen has pretty much everything you need to cook a great meal. I'm not a huge fan of the flat, easy-cleaning electric stovetop but it served the purpose for breakfast and lunch. We typically had dinner at one of the local restaurants. There's even a wine fridge. One evening we tried out the bbq grill on the resort property. It was fun cooking with our neighbors and getting to meet a few of the folks there. (Some of the grills work better than others so you may want to scout it out first.)
Grocery stores like Safeway and Costco are about 1.5 miles away so supplies and food are no problem. There's a convenience store within walking distance that also sells prepared foods and gift items.
The man-made lagoons work perfectly for both big and small kids. It actually is much larger than it appears in the pictures and gets deep in a hurry (which is why it's just as much fun for the bigger kids). However, if you're looking for wave action, you'll need to go to the North Shore.
Proximity to sightseeing was great. All the Pearl Harbor sites are about 20 min away and Waikiki / Honolulu was about 30 min. To get to the North Shore took about 45 min.
The unit comes with an underground parking space but fair warning - it's a bit of a walk. Typically I would drive to the lobby and unload groceries etc... before taking the car down to the garage. That's a minor inconvenience however for such a great condo. Overall we had a great time and Thuha is quick to respond to any emails. Service at the Ko Olina is top notch - everyone was quick to smile and had a great attitude. It really helped make our vacation extra special. I would highly recommend Thuha's Ko Olina condo to anyone thinking about a true Hawaiian getaway.

Excellent Condo in a wonderful spot

We recently got back from a week's stay in this wonderful condo. The unit, itself, is great. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms with plenty of space for a family of 5. There is a lovely lanai and a open plan kitchen, dining and living area. The unit has 3 plasma tvs and blue ray players as well as high-end appliances including a wine fridge. The beds are large and comfortable and the bathrooms are very spacious. The unit was exceptionally clean and very well maintained. Unlike some of the other units we saw, there was plenty of art on the walls and plants to make it really seem like home. The unit also came with a fax machine/printer combo, washer and dryer, a reserved parking space and just about every other convenience you could need for a week's stay I should also note that the unit is very quiet and has a great view of the lap pool and a distant ocean view. Dealing with the owner was exceptionally pleasant. She was incredibly responsive and accomodating. Our security deposit was returned promptly after leaving. The complex itself is very nice. The main pool area is great for kids in that it has several different areas to play in including a lazy river area and a sand bottom pool for toddlers. There were always plenty of chairs available. There a several communal grills and it was usually not too long of a wait to use them. The complex is located on a private lagoon and the beach was never crowded. The lagoons are great for younger kids as there are very little to no waives and it remains shallow. At the same time there is some pleasant snorkeling as well. The larger resort area is still under development (a new Disney hotel is opening on the neighboring lagoon) so there are not too many services in the immediate resort area although there is a small market, a ice cream store, a Mexican restuarant a Hawaiian BBQ restaurant and a Roy's. Roy's was quite good and the ice cream shop was pleasant despite a small selection. All of these places are located within a short walk of the complex. Over all, we were exceptionally pleased with our stay and, in particular, this unit. We highly recommend it and look forward to returning soon.

Vacation in paradise !!!

My wife and I stayed four (4) weeks in January 2011 in this fantastic place. It met our expectation, well located, clean and close to the beach. Good restaurants around, golf, shopping and grocery store are about ten minutes. The owners have been realy nice and helpfull. International call and wi-fi were included. It is a perfect place for relax vacation and we would recommend it without hesitation.

This condo is TOP DRAWER!

This was my second trip to the Ko Olina area on Oahu. This is such a beautiful location! Right on the beach with peaceful tranquility. The condo is nothing short of total luxury. Everything about it we liked. The location is perfect. It is a very quiet place to vacation. We loved the walking boardwalk that runs along the water. The condo itself is well maintained and has all the amenities that anyone would want. Everyone that works at the resort is so very nice and helpful. We had six adults in the unit and had plenty of room and privacy. I would give this place FIVE STARS and would recommend it to anyone wanting a beautiful location for a vacation.

First Time to Hawaii

This was our first visit to the Hawaiian islands and this rental was everything we could ask for. We were a party of 7 with 1 adults and 1 child and this unit met all our needs. With 3 bedrooms and 3 baths its more like we had 3 master bedroom suites.
The unit is very contemporary and everything is state-of-the-art. The kitchen we used quite frequently is any chef's dream. The appliances were all stainless steel even including a sub-zero fridge and a wine refrigerator. Everything we needed the unit had from chopsticks to steamer. The bedroom linens were 5 star quality and the beds were comfortable pillow tops. Everyone enjoyed the flat-panel televisions equipped with blu-ray players. The room comes with fast wi-fi internet and printer so all our technology needs were met. This made it easy to print directions and tickets.
The resort itself was secluded with a excellent staff. The 2 pools provided different feels and pool towels were also provided. The fitness center is almost a mini-fitness club and was always staffed. The staff was great. The resort was very safe with all entries requiring key cards and the entrance to the resort was gated. They have a large winding river with numerous koi fish. They have feedings 4 times a day and care to kids. My daughter assisted in the feedings and the staff gave her an official koi fish feeding diploma. Very Cute!!!
When we first were researching for our vacation we thought we wanted to stay in Waikiki. Boy were we glad we stayed in KoOlina. We visited Waikiki and didn't know how commercial it was. KoOlina was more remote and had the Hawaiian paradise feel. Restaurants and grocery stores are only 1 exit away and provide multiple food options. The best part about KoOlina is the sunsets over the private lagoon are postcard perfect.
All in all, this was the perfect place for the perfect vacation. We have recommended this unit to all our friends and are already planning our next trip.

Peaceful and Beautiful

My family and I love vacationing in Hawaii but always preferred the other quieter islands over Oahu. We usually stay just a few nights in Oahu (Waikiki area) to visit relatives. This time we were traveling with my parents so we decided to stay one full week in Oahu so they can spend time with relatives. I picked the Ko'olina area because of its proximity to my relatives. The Ko'olina Beach Villas is a wonderful place to stay. It is very beautiful and peaceful, not like Waikiki. In front of the villa is the Honu Lagoon which is the best of the three Ko'olina Resort lagoons. The amenities are first class and service is very friendly. The unit that we stayed in is very tastefully decorated and very clean. It had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. Target, Costco and Safeway are close by. Driving to the different Points of Interest was never a problem. I will stay here again when I go back and visit.

Memorable experience--fabulous location

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at this villa. The location was perfect---walking distance to the beach and just steps to the pool. During our stay it was very quiet and serene (January 20-24). The ambiance exuded peace and tranquility, allowing us to decompress and relax easily. The villa was tastefully decorated and it had all the amenities we required. The appliances are top of line. We were very pleased, and will think of this location again for our next visit to Oahu. We had the opportunity to visit and stay at the Turtle Bay Resort as well, and while we enjoyed Turtle Bay, we would return here first because we enjoyed having the flexibility to cook our own meals and do it all on our own schedule, which a Condo like this allows. The beach (lagoon) was perfect for us. The water was extremely calm, and my young daughters (4 years, and 21 months) enjoyed it thoroughly (we had peace of mind, knowing they would not be dragged by any waves). Because it is away from the hustle and bustle, visitors should plan their trips to grocery stores, etc, accordingly. We shopped on our way there, but did not buy sufficient food for all of our stay, and regretted that, so I would advise visitors to plan ahead, and thus save time.
We had difficulty accessing an internet connection from the Condo, but this may have been unique to us. We were able to use our smart phones, however, so we were not completely disconnected. They also provide free domestic call access from the condo, which proved practical for us.
