What to say that hasn't been said already? We've stayed there twice in the past 2 years, first by ourselves (2 adults 2 kids) in the larger house. Then this year we brought our best friends and their kids (4 adults 4 kids total) and rented both the large house and the studio. It was amazing. As others have said if you're looking for oplulence this isn't it. If you're looking for a comfortable, spacious(for the larger place) quaint house with an unbelievable location in Puako, owned by a genuinely nice guy- you've found it. The studio has a wonderful vibe- the bedroom and the main living area are all fronted by windows that are literally like 30 feet from the tidepools. The main house has a bed and the main living area all facing the beach too. The little bit of grass and beach out front, and the tidepools are fantastic if you have kids older than toddlers. Our oldest kids spent hours exploring the tidepools. If you're a snorkeler/diver the reef right off the back yard is spectacular. Grill your fish on the grill out back and then eat it while watching the sunset from the dining table. The house is a great base for adventures and is a quick drive to some of the best beaches in Hawaii, including our favorite, Mauna Kea. Duke is a solid guy, easy to deal with and has a knack for not being around when you want privacy, but being around when you want to chat about the area, the weather, where to get good fish etc. We love this place and will stay here many more times. Mahalo Duke.
