Brilliant Girls Weekend on Lake Travis

KGs Weekend San Francisco
Review Submitted: May 6, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
You can want for nothing while staying at this beautiful property!

We spent the days lounging around the pool, BBQing, playing horseshoes and perfecting our seriously lacking putting skills. The whole house is wired to get radio/I pod music inside and out and had the weather been really bad we would have happily used the awesome media room for chick-flicks (requisite of a "girl's weekend” you see), but we managed to stay in the pool and hot tub relaxing for days thankfully.

There is ample room for food storage (3 fridges including one in the outdoor bar area) and the kitchen is brilliant for preparing big meals with plenty of seating to accommodate all of us (12 girls!!) for dinners. Oh… and plenty of ice makers all around… so don’t buy any!

The bedrooms are lovely and all have their own bathrooms. All the linens are nice and the beds are comfortable.

We had massage therapists come to the house and 6 of us got wonderful treatments. They were excellent and very accommodating. Ariana set that up for us and here is her plug: http://www.arianainstitute.com

One of us even managed to use the gym!

Nate (the owner) is very easy to deal with and terribly obliging as well!

This house “does what it says on the tin":

BRILLIANT GIRLS WEEKEND ON LAKE TRAVIS!!!

PS- all of the ladies with kids in attendance said they would bring their families here in a heart beat.

Best of the Best

Our family has stayed at over 20 vacation homes around the US, this Lake Travis home has been the very best. I have read all the reviews, none of them have even come close to telling you how wonderful this home is, and neither can I. The pictures you see here do not come close to the beauty of "the real thing". We were there early September........unfortunately, Lake Travis is down about 12 feet at this time, so you could not see the lake from the house, but we could have cared less. There is just so much to do at the house, and around the pool, words just can't describe this marvelous home.

We stayed at the house for a long weekend with two other families. We had a great time and the house was amazing. All of the bedrooms were very comfortable and the house has everything you could ask for.
Every part of the house is well thought out and designed for comfort and function.
We will be back for sure!
It was really nice to have a private boat dock and privacy of a large property.

Picture Perfect

Lake Travis Ranch lived up to the hype. I was a little afraid the online description and pictures might have been exaggerated but that was definitely not the case. From the picturesque setting with the pool overlooking the lake to the outdoor kitchen to the theater room, this place has it all and will not disappoint. Our group debated whether or not to get a group of hotel rooms in downtown Austin and hit the town but we had a much better time relaxing and enjoying this home for the weekend. One thing to note is that it is a good hour or so from the Austin airport, so plan ahead if coming in from out of town. Overall this home is in great shape...wish I had one of my own!

Beautiful Vacation Retreat by the Lake

Scott F Dallas, Texas
Review Submitted: March 1, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2008
Wow! My wife and I, along with some friends of ours (two other couples) decided to vacation on Lake Travis this year. We decided to look into renting a vacation home, so the search began. We were looking for something more upscale, yet that had the feel of getting away from the rat race of general civilization. We wanted it to be somewhere on the Lake. We found a couple places, but nothing compared to the Lake Travis Ranch. It was everything and more. From the beach style natural swimming pool and hot tub, to the gorgeous, open, clean, & very accommodating home, we were all very relaxed the entire time. During the day we were out by the pool, barbequing, playing horseshoes, and playing the satellite music outback in complete privacy. We set up camp down by the lake where we swam by the dock, lounged in the sand, and adventured out on the Waverunners. We had the lake basically to ourselves, we only saw one other boat the entire time. In the evenings, we went night swimming in the pool, had great diners, wine, watched movies in the theater room, and retreated into one of the three private upstairs master suites. I highly recommend staying here, it was vacation our family and friends won't forget, and have already booked again for next year!

Peace and Quiet

Review Submitted: February 28, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
We returned for a second time just recently and found the house and grounds to be spacious and very comfortable for our family. The home has a great layout. We especially enjoy preparing meals because the kitchen is so well furnished and there is outdoor cooking areas as well.
The view of the hill country and Lake Travis is beautiful.
There is so much to do on the property itself but if you like wineries that are a couple to visit just a few miles away.
It is the perfect getaway.

Beautiful House

We had a fantastic and relaxing vacation. The home was wonderfully decorated and had a real warm feel to it. The way the home is described in the listing is no where close to actually seeing it for yourself! The weekend past by so fast. I would highly recommend renting this house for your next vacation as you won't be disappointed!

A Quiet, Well Appointed Getaway!

Craigles Dallas, Tx.
Review Submitted: December 2, 2008 Date of Stay: November 2008
We visited over Thanksgiving and enjoyed wonderful weather, as well as spectacular Fall foilage. Every morning and evening we saw 8-10 deer as they crossed the property to eat grass and acorns.
The house is large and nicely accomodated our family of 10. Great kitcen, super gas appliances and plenty of space. Wonderul bedrooms with private baths and a balcony to view the 6 acre surroundings.
Highlights included the media room and a terrific pool, hot tub and outdoor eating/cooking area along with a putting green. The Owner was most accomodating.
We highly recommend!

BEWARE of mistreatment and additional costs.

Michael Jonathan Houston, Tx
Review Submitted: November 17, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
The house was very nice, but I am upset with the treatment that I received from the owner.

First of all, the theater room did not work. This ruined two nights of movie watching and more importantly an entire Saturday of watching college football. I felt that I should have been refunded a portion of the cost for the rental of the house due to the theater room not working properly. I was denied any refund.

On top of that, the owner charged me additional fees for claims that I was unable to disprove. If you do in fact rent this house, make sure that you get documentation (pictures) which proves that you turned everything to the off position, otherwise you will not be refunded the total amount of the deposit.

I am unhappy with the treatment that I received and ask that all parties interested in renting this vacation home to take this into consideration so that it does not happen to anyone else.
Owner's Response: This was the first time that I had to charge a renter extra fees for additional cleanup in the two years I have been renting my home. When staying here, I do have a very detailed, yet short list of things that I ask of all renters to do upon check in and check out. If you have rented before, they are common things like stripping all sheets when leaving, taking out the trash, removing all food, picking up beer cans and drinks, starting the dishwasher, turning off the AC, and locking the doors. Unfortunately this renter failed to do several of those things, hence the extra charge. This is clearly outlined in the renter agreement as well as the check-in and check-out instructions. As for the theatre room not working, this was true for most of 1 single day, but the home also has 6 other flat screen TVs, along with a large 37" TV in the main living room as well as a TV outside - which were all working fine. From time to time, things don't work, but it was fixed quickly. Lastly, what was charged was minimal and was only charged to cover the extra cleaning, so I am surprised to see that this renter wrote such a review. I take pride in my home and expect my guests to do so. If any future guest have any concerns or questions about this review, feel free to call me directly.

Gorgeous Home

froggy North Vancouver, BC Canada
Review Submitted: September 30, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
This awesome luxurious house is in a relaxed lakeshore setting, with enough first class amenities to keep all ages happy. Together with 9 other vibrant women (7 from Canada!), we recently traveled to Texas and spent two wonderful days at the "Ranch". In advance of the trip, the owner was very accommodating and prompt at responding to all our requests. Upon arrival at the Ranch, we were thoroughly impressed with the quality of the house, its cleanliness and amenities - from the pool and hot tub to the theater and fitness rooms, sound system, kitchen and sleeping areas. Only the best would do for these girls, and that's what we got. A little ways out from local towns, but a perfect place to get away from it all! Highly recommend a holiday here ... we will definitely return for another visit to the Lake Travis Ranch and Texas hill country!
Owner's Response: Fantastic group and would welcome them back anytime!
