Spacious condo with stunning views!
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Black Bear's Den. The condo is exactly as described, but the pictures can't beat seeing it in person. The views from the floor to ceiling picture windows are serene and beautiful. After 2 windy days, the wildlife came out to play! We saw a herd of elk breaking trail in chest-high snow at the upper elevation, foxes in the clearing right in front of the condo, squirrels running from tree to tree, and numerous birds. It was hard to break away, but the slopes were calling. The kitchen has all the amenities of home and we cooked breakfast and dinner there all but 2 nights. Plenty of space for 4 people and I think 6 would be comfortable, particularly if they are good friends or family. Having a washer/dryer in the unit was very convenient and meant less clothing to pack. A flick of the switch ignited a toasty fire to warm up by after a day in the elements or gaze upon while reflecting on all the great ski runs of the day. The covered parking space was much appreciated with the snow amounts we received while there. Everything was clean and in order upon our arrival. Tiffany was always prompt in returning emails and provided a detailed, inclusive welcome letter that gave us all the information we needed to start our winter vacation. My initial inquiry was responded to in less than 2 hours! We have been using VRBO for many years and I feel confident recommending this property. Gore Trail is a quiet complex almost at the top of Ryan Gulch Rd. We loved it! We rented skis Virgin Island Ski Rentals. Best prices around for demo skis. Two members of our party (late 30's) tried the tubing hill at Frisco Adventure Center and had a blast. $25/person for one hour of all the sliding you can manage. There is a large lodge with a snack bar, beverages (including adult), lockers, restrooms, and fireplace to hang out if you're not tubing. We hit Sunshine Cafe in Silverthorne before heading out to Denver our last morning. Yummy, filling breakfast! Black Bear's Den is very convenient to Breckenridge and Keystone resorts. And, on good weather days, Vail and Beaver Creek are just 40 minutes away. Book this condo if you want a peaceful, comfortable place to hang your ski jacket and is conveniently located to just about anything you would need while you're enjoying your get-away!
