What a great place. Key things that myself and my partner liked (age 28&30).
Excellent and i mean excellent transport links - you can get the subway from a couple of blocks away (about 3 mins (e28 st) which is the straight line that takes you the length of manhatten. If you need to change subway trains, then thats just as easy - youre only a couple of stops from grand central.
Restaurants at the end of the road are in abundance and diverse and you dont pay inflated prices like you do in the main tourist zones. We eat far worse food in some very expensive restaurants, but the local ones are great- I recommend Artica for a modern good quality restaurant, great staff who will give you a free beer between 10-4 with brunch.
There's also a few supermarkets around if you want to shop.
The apartment is clean and a great base from which to explore New york. Its on the ground floor , street facing, so sometimes you will hear loud people outside, but that should not deter you - we had a great time.
The area's safe and Maaya's great - she was more than accomodating with the late check out and answering my questions in advance.
I would recommend this property, no question and for the money, well you cant beat it.

I just came back after spending 15 days at Maaya's flat. I am glad i booked this apartment, very comfortable, centrally located, great resturants in the area. The flat itself is very clean & tidy. Maaya is specially concerned that the stay is comfortable & she wants to make sure that everything is right. Thank you Maaya, i had a great time.

This was our first time renting a flat than booking a hotel room. I do not think will like to book a hotel room again. The flat is nice clean, with a complete kitchen, has a plasma tv, the owners are very friendly & helpful, Maaya is very concerned that your stay is a memorable one.
The flat on the ground floor so you might get to hear some noise on a weekend but then this is new york city, the party capital of the world.
We had lots of fun.

Nice, comfortable studio suite for 2 persons. (Would not recommend it for more than 4 adults).
Main room contains the queen-sized bed, along with a large leather couch, that i believe pulls out into a queen size bed, coffee table;
and a longer table (against the wall) which holds the Cable TV and a place to hook-up your
computer for "free" wireless internet service.
There is no telephone, but not a problem if you have a cell phone.
The entry into the fully equipped kitchen begins at about 6 ft. from the foot of the bed.
It's roomy enough for 2 persons to get around in, without bumping into each other.
What was great .... Full size refrigerator, coffee pot, toaster, microwave and stove.
Used the automatic dishwasher several times too.
Bath area: Nice Tub/shower combo w/ single sink.
Overall - What was great ....
- Linens, towels, soap, shampoo, paper towels, dishwashing detergent, body lotion, and hair dryer ... were all supplied.
- Apt. only 3 blocks away from the nearest Metro subway station.
- Apt. only 2-3 blocks away from one of the larger grocery stores.
- Several resturants close by (within 1-2 blocks): Chineese, Pizza, Mexican, etc.
Only (possible) disadvantage:
Since the Apt. windows are fully facing the street, you will get the daily "street noise"
So, if you're a "light sleeper", this is something to think about.
It didn't really bother my daughter and I, because looking around Manhattan .... I feel that you're going to run into this
just about no matter where you stay. It's a busy, crowded city .... and that's "just the way it is", in my opinion.

Maaya is really a super-nice "hostess". Very friendly, and really wants to ensure your stay is convenient and comfortable.
Certain cable TV channels went out one day (and my daughter about had a "fit"); and by the next day, Maaya had it rectified.

What a nice place!! Fantastic apartment clean & cozy. It was our fourth time in Manhattan but our first in renting an apartment, So much better & cheaper than a hotel. Excellent service, Will definitely come back.

Awesome experience, it was our first time in Manhattan. The apartment clean & nice & Maaya's a superb host.
It is centrally located with some really great restaurants in a 4 block radius.

The inside of this apartment is awesome, clean, and comfortable. It is on the 1st floor/street front. The noise from the people walking by, fighting, and yelling continues on til 2-3 in the morning. The air conditioner is resting on dumsters that are backed upto the windows of the apartment. People smoke by the dumster outside the window and the garbage smells. As is, it is priced too high. Based on many trips to New York and past rental experiences, you can get a better location for the same money or less in the city. Contacted owner about concerns during our stay, never got a call back.
Owner's Response: We have been renting this apartment for almost a year now & have never gotten a single complaint like this, the studio apartment is on the ground level with two windows. There is no smells coming into the apartment or people smoking and yelling till 2-3 in the morning, There is something called the Law & Police which are in place for mischief makers. If there is a bunch of people who have been out partying over the weekend & pass from in front of the building, You cant just make a statement that it is a permanent problem, This is a residential building with families living, there is a superintendent in the building who is there in place to fix problems like this if it happens
This lady who has put a bad review had booked our apartment for 4 night stating that there would be 2 guests, instead showed up 3.
She called us after 2 days stating that she was not happy with the apartment and would like to be relocated to a newer one bedroom since she knew that we do own several. We did try and get back to her several times & also left her 4 voice messages. We do try our level best to keep all our customers happy but its hard to match up with one's expectation level.
As for this apartment priced high, There are 220 apartment listed on homeaway.com & we can guarantee that there is nothing for this price in the Gramercy Park Area. And in no way do we ever misrepresent any of our apartments.
