Great beach house retreat

I stayed at Harbor Vista to celebrate a birthday with several great friends (we live in Bay area so this was an easy weekend getaway for us). The house was exactly as described and the owners are really helpful in terms of answering questions promptly and providing loads of accurate local information. The property is clean with great linens on beds and wonderful layout and amenities for a group to enjoy each other near the beach. Fabulous sunsets from the deck, warm/clean easy to use jacuzzi, lots of space, great wood fire stove and fireplace, comfy furniture. Location is wonderful -- easy to access best beaches, local retail and spa/yoga places, restaurants and shopping...Half Moon Bay (which is a great off-season destination) is EASY, fun, kinda wanting to be artsy, surfery, good food, really laid back, a great balance of nature/social consciousness and access to the "upscale" goods/services if you're into that kind of treat, too. We were all adults in the property, but it would work really well with two families sharing with kids of any age. I would definitely recommend this property, and hope to return myself.
Owner's Response: Wow, thanks! We really appreciate the kind words. It captures all the things we love about the Half Moon Bay area, and we're really glad that you enjoyed staying at our home so much.

We stayed as a group of consultants who wanted to get away for a relaxing weekend of fun and team bonding. The home was amazing and perfect for our needs. The owners were amazing to work with and very accommodating. If you are looking for a fantastic stay, I definitely recommend this house! We look forward to staying again!

Thank you for letting us use your beautiful home for our recent
Leadership Retreat. The house was the perfect size for our group of 10.
We enjoyed the spacious kitchen and had a great time playing some of the
games you had on hand for guests. Your property was very clean and had
all the comforts of home. I highly recommend it to others looking for a
homelike setting for a Retreat.

We had a wonderful girls getaway at this house.
It was roomy and had beautiful views of the ocean.
The kitchen had everything you would need to make
wonderful meals.
We will absolutely come back to this house for

This was our family's first experience renting a vacation home for a small reunion instead of 3 or 4 hotel rooms, and it was fantastic. We spent a lot more time together and really enjoyed the feeling of a home rather being separated most of the time in a hotel. The owners were friendly, quick to respond back, and the arrangements were easy to make and confirm.

The home has 3 bedrooms and a sleeper sofa in a downstairs family room and comfortably held 7 adults and 4 children. I will say that this home was very family and child friendly, with board games, toys, high chairs, porta-cribs all available to use. We sat around the fire place most nights which was great. In addition, the backyard had a play structure which was great fun for kids, and the jacuzzi was an added bonus. For the grown ups, we had 2 bottles of wine that greeted us, with a gift certificate for a local restaurant that we made use of that had excellent breakfast...

The common areas were large and clean with great light and oceanviews. There was a great large dining table that was able to seat all of us comfortably during meals or late night chats. The kitchen was well-stocked and the instructions for all the appliances were available and straightforward.

Also, the owners had a binder of local areas of interest as well as dining recommendations locally and even menus of many of the restaurants which was really a great help in getting out to explore the area or just order in.

Lastly, the location in Half Moon Bay was great. We had plans to be in both the Stanford area (Palo Alto) as well as some day trips to San Fransisco, both of which were about 30 minutes away. The drive was easy, but with some windy areas which were only an issue at night... (two lanes, few streetlights).

Otherwise, we had a great time. I would highly recommend this property to families, particularlythose with kids looking for a refreshing change of venue on vacation.

The house was a perfect setting for a family
gathering! The kids and the dog loved the backyard
and all of us enjoyed cooking in the beautiful
kitchen, grilling on the deck and just hanging out in
this very comfortable home away from home. We
hit the surrounding beaches almost every day and
then came back to the house to enjoy the beautiful
views from the deck. We will definitely be back!

A very comfortable house with a wonderful kitchen. Nice appliances, dishes, well furnished, easy to use. The beds are very comfortable with nice bedding. We enjoyed the hot tub, exploring the area, and relaxing. We loved the sound of the fog horn.

I really enjoyed staying in the house for the weekend. It was close to the beach, close to stores and it even has a hot tub - what more could you ask for?

I had an amazing time at your gorgeous woodland retreat. Words do not express the feeling I had while sitting on your porch gazing out at the tranquil bay while the sun set in a burst of gold and orange fire. All the while the gulls were swooping overhead and a lone sailboat made it's way across the horizon. I can't wait for more vacation time so I can return.

Great house with a beautiful view of the ocean and the sunset. Cool kitchen for cooking up that special something. And, the kids loved the back yard. Recommend.
