Simply Awesome!

After spending many hours researching where to take our family, we came across Pomme d'Amour. It looked nice, looked available and was affordable for our needs. I was very hopeful after reading the previous reviews that it would meet these high standards. It did not...it far exceeded them! We just returned from one of our greatest vacations! The villa was actually larger than we expected with very comfortable furnishings. The veranda was also much larger with an incredible view. We were welcomed with Rum punch and a stocked fridge for the morning. Pierre took us grocery shopping that night One of the highlights was spending all our time outside, dining al fresco. Josee and Pierre (and Nakai) were the best hosts you could ask for. They both went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our visit. Josee made many, many recommendations and then made reservations for the ones we picked. We truly enjoyed the waterfalls, the day in the water taxi w/ Carlos and dinner at La Moniques. Josee arranged for a rental car to be delivered to the villa for our stay. I suggest getting one with a little more power for the hills. We loved the flexibility to go wherever we wanted on the island for exploring. The pool was great for the end of the day dip. The walk to the beautiful secluded cove is well worth it, just wish we had more time to spend there. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to stay in St Lucia. If ever we have the chance to go back, we will definitely be staying at Pomme d'Amour! Thank you Josee and Pierre!

Fell in love with Pomme D'Amour

St Lucia seems to have an abundance of holiday properties, both hotels and self catering and so the choice is large. We decided on self catering in the Marigot Bay area and Pomme D'Amour was all we could have wished for, and more. Josee and Pierre are fantastic hosts and go that extra mile to make sure that you have a wonderful holiday, nothing seems too much trouble. We stayed in the one bedroomed apartment and it had all we could need. We hired a car, with Josee's help, for two days but the villa is a beautiful place to sit and relax, enjoying the pool and the scenery. The walk down to Marigot Bay is not too difficult and the saunter back helps work off any calories after stopping at the Baguette Shop. On our last night we treated ourself to a meal at the Rainforest Hideaway, it was worth it. The cocktails at Chateau Mygo are pretty good, Happy Hour all day, 2 for 1.
All in all a truely relaxing and enjoyable holiday, I'd go back tomorrow if I could!
This was made possible because of the attention to detail of Josee and Pierre, met by Pierre at the airport, rum punch and bruschetta on arrival, plenty of towels, a well furnished and charming apartment, very well kept and clean throughout, a delightful tropical garden, advice on where to go and what to do.
I could recommend Villa Pomme D'Amour wholeheartedly

Wonderful & Secluded

Simply excellent. This was our first time traveling to the Caribbean, and having Pierre pick us up at the airport proved to be a God send. I quickly found to rely on the advice and suggestions that Josee and Pierre gave, saving money while helping us to pick and choose the best activities for our daily excursions. The villa Pomme D'Amour is great. A wonderful and secluded view of the Caribbean yet close enough to stores and restaurants. Josee and Pierre work endlessly to ensure that your stay is relaxing and carefree. More over when you leave you feel that you have made friends for life with Josee, Pierre and NaKai.

Loved Villa Pomme D'Amour

My son & I stayed at Villa Pomme D' Amour over the week of New Year's 2009. We loved it! Pierre picked us up at a hotel we had stayed our first night & drove us an hour to the villa. We were welcomed like family, in fact we were treated like family our entire visit. Pierre stopped at a store for us before we got to our villa. The villa was filled with fresh flowers, fruit & a stocked frig for breakfast & condoments. The view was surreal. We loved the short walk down a lovely path to the beach, which is very private with great coral & tropical fish. The villa is beautiful with a tropical chic atmosphere. We spent New Year's Eve (& other times also) with Pierre, Josee & their family at Doolittle's island. My son said it was the best New Year's Eve he's ever had- locals with skin & face painted, danced with fire, ate fire & limboed under fire! We watched the fireworked over the Caribbean sea. The host helped us decide what to do & also to arrange it. I can't speak highly enough of Villa D' Amour. Thank you, Josee, Pierre & family for a fabulous New Year!- Kay & Ethan

IBeautiful and Special!

Review Submitted: September 11, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
All I can say is everything great that has been said about the Pomme D'Amour is absolutely true. I had reservations about taking my family with two teenagers to the Caribbean in July...too much rain, too hot, too many mosquitoes, not enough to do? Josee was so open and helpful with my questions and put me completely at ease. By the time we arrived we all had high expectations of an adventurous trip and those expectations were truly exceeded.

July turned out to be a great time to visit St. Lucia. We felt like visitors, not tourists...didn't even see many of them. There were mosquitoes but no more than at home. The fans kept us cool in the evening and the water kept us cool in the daytime. We rented a car with the help of Josee and Pierre (a must for the driving was a fun adventure in itself). In 5 days we traveled all over the island, visited many beaches, snorkled, jumped off the rock in the cove, went horseback riding, had lunch at Ladera, covered ourelves with volcanic mud at the hot springs, did the zip lines, the fish fry, boarded a private sunset cruise, ate with the locals, enjoyed the Pitons and Piton beer. It rains, the sun comes out and life is GOOD. Who doesn't love a rainbow in a tropical paradise?

Josee and Pierre were there whenever we needed them, anxious to help and so interesting to talk to, yet they were perfectly appropriate hosts who seemed to have our needs figured out on day one. They made our reservations and pointed us in the right direction. We couldn't wait to tell them about our days when we returned. THEY ARE VERY SPECIAL PEOPLE!

The villa is off the beaten path but very centrally located as far as the island adventures go. We loved the open air living and appreciated having just the right ammenities. No fluff, just a wonderfully well designed villa with just what you need for a perfectly wonderful getaway. Take me back!

A fantastic 2 week holiday, not only because St Lucia is a beautiful island but our stay at the villa was made so enjoyable. We stayed at Villa Pomme d’Amour's 2 bedroom, self catering villa. It had a lounge (with cable TV), fully equipped kitchen, balcony with beautiful views of the ocean and mountains. It was really peaceful and idyllic. The deco was tasteful, simple, natural and very homely. It had everything that we needed. The swimming pool was great, our 4 year old loved it and she was in it everyday! The owners Pierre and Josee made our stay so welcome, they arranged pick up from the airport, they kindly stocked our fridge with a morning’s breakfast – bacon, eggs, fruit, milk, tea, coffee and juice which made it so much easier after a 9 hour flight and not getting in until the evening. They also drove us into town for some grocery shopping and they took us out on their boat to do some snorkelling! They were truly fabulous hosts. The villa is in a great location – the beautiful Marigot Bay. It is about a 5/10 minute walk to a lovely marina full of beautiful boats and yachts. There are several shops there (including a gorgeous bakers – croissants, baguettes etc), a small grocer’s and restaurants. A little boat takes you to Dolittle island where there is small beach. Also just a couple of minutes walk takes you down to a cove where it is perfect for snorkelling or you can borrow their kayak to visit nearby beaches. If we were lucky enough to holiday in St Lucia again I would definitely come back to Villa Pomme d’Amour – I highly recommend it.

Best vacation ever

We stayed at the Villa Pomme D'Amour in mid January. We were met at the airport, and escorted to our villa. We were then greeted by Josse and Pierre, our hosts. We enjoyed a home made rum punch while they told us about the property. The view from the deck is stunning. After settling in, Peirre drove us down to the bay for dinner. Chateau Mygo became a popular spot for us to start and end our evenings. Pierre came back to get us, and hung out a bit while my husband sat in with the band. Josse and Peirre took care of everything. There was everything we would need to make breakfast the next morning in the refrigerator. They had our car delivered to us the next morning, and picked up sometime after we left. They arranged a nice day excursion with Carlos, made our dinner reservations for us, and even took us to some of the best snorkeling spots on the island. It was more like staying with old friends then staying with strangers.

The walk down to the cove for snorkeling is well worth it. Be sure to bring your own snorkeling gear so you don't have to go on one of those giant snorkeling tour boats.

We stayed in the small apartment style Villa. There was nothing better then falling asleep to the sounds of the water and tree frogs and waking up to the view of the cove. We never once shut our doors or windows.

This by far was our best vacation ever. It was very difficult to say goodbye. We will definitely be back.
