Pefect house for families with kids

Lamz Braintree, MA, USA
Review Submitted: September 30, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
My family and friends with kids (24 people) recently spent a relaxing weekend in this house. This house has a lot of indoor games (foosball, free throw duel basketball, board games) and outdoor (rope tree swing and regular swings). Kids loved them. The house and the deck are huge and is great for a big families. One thing I have to compliment on is the kitchen. Like the house it is also huge and it also comes with two of everthing (stoves, frige, microwave, etc.). It really helped when you are cooking for twenty people =). Would recommend to my friends.
Owner's Response: I was so happy to see your children running around playing in the yard having fun. I have noted their suggestions about the rope swing and will see about improving it. Thank you for visiting. Hope to see your family again soon, and thank you for your kind words.

Great family-friendly house!

T-Family Boston, MA
Review Submitted: August 25, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
Our family of 24, ages 5-70, enjoyed a week at The Beast this summer. It was the ideal setting for us and between the house, deck, and yard we had more than enough space to get out of each others' way if needed. It was perfect for our family and we could really "live" there comfortably because it is so family friendly--amenities, decor, layout. The kids (including 6 under 10), enjoyed it immensely. The house, although not handicapped accessible, was easy for one of our family members who has some mobility issues.

The Beast is conveniently located near a great sampling of outdoor activities (swimming, boating, hiking, biking, etc.) as well as man-made recreational sites--free or for fees. We'd go there again without question. Thanks to Steve for a few great tips on nearby watering holes to enjoy and for having an affordable vacation house for a big family like ours!
Owner's Response: Thank you, it is my goal to continue the family tradition at The Beast. I imagine your family relaxing and enjoying the house, yard and area and work to promote that experience with every improvement made at the house. I couldn't do it without you. My mission: To provide a comfortable, relaxed, unpretentious family environment at an affordable price. The tradition of large families enjoying the North Country continues.

New Years at the Beast

Kathy08 Methuen, MA
Review Submitted: February 19, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
My three siblings, spouses, and eight children (ages 11-23) rented Steve's place, "The Beast", over New Years. It was perfect. Although the weather was not ideal for skiing and snowboarding, we were thrilled that "The Beast" was such a great place to hang out and enjoy family time together. There was plenty of room for everyone to have privacy when needed. The kitchen and living room are large enough to accommodate everyone. It's location is ideal, being located right near many of North Conway's finest attractions. You can tell that Steve works very hard to maintain and update "The Beast." It is very unique, clean, accomodating, and comfortable. We will cherish our memories and we look forward to next year.
Owner's Response: The Beast was built by an Italian Eye Doctor who loved children and had 8 as his family grew so did the house. The house was built with family in mind, a large family room with vaulted ceilings, fireplace, sitting area, dinning area with seating for 24, kitchen with 2 of everything: ovens, refrigerators, coffee makers, 10 bedrooms in 4 different areas no hotel hallways, 9 baths, large deck, private location with a treed backyard. As the current caretaker the best part is to look forward to your next visit.

Wonderful Experience!

The house is older and well used, but the owner was very welcoming and provided exceptional customer service. The house was clean and fantastic for a large group. Several in our group were making plans to use this house again for family gatherings.
Owner's Response: "The Beast" built in the 1970's as a small ski chalet and expanded over the years into a huge ski house is a work in progress. I am continually updating the house with an eye to guests comfort and convenience. The house has a charm to it especially to children and families and the space and facilities for groups. My attitude is it is my job to give you a good product which exceeds your expectations at a fair price. From when you arrive you should feel the house is yours and I am at your service.

Great Family Vacation

SFamily Maryland
Review Submitted: September 11, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
The entire family was more than satisfied. We had 20 family members that fit with comfort. The common areas, dinning room, bed rooms, bathrooms, parking, and back yard were more than ample in size. The board games, outdoor fire pit, double stoves/refrigerators, and even fresh garden herbs and vegetables came in handy. Could not have asked for a better house and location to hold a family reunion. The younger family members had Story Land and Attitash within a 10 minute drive, the older family members had canoeing down the saco river, Cog Railroad, Mt. Washington Auto Road, hundredes of hikes, and thousands of sights within 30 minutes drive, not to mention everyone got their back to school and back to work shopping done at the tax free outlets within a 5 minute drive! We look forward to 2009 at the Beast if available and would be happy to provide as a reference for future potential guests.
