This magnificent loft apartment is set on the 3rd floor in a 15th century Medici Palazzo. The location is exceptional, for you are stones throw to all the Florentine museums and important sites, shops, and bars and restaurants. The loft apartment is 90sqm (about 1000sqft) with amazingly high ceiling of 5meters (about16ft) high. The ceiling is the original 15th century Florentine wood work (a cassettoni) that has all been finely and painstakingly preserved.

The apartment consists of an entrance hallway which leads you into the loft apartment with 2 huge cathedral windows that let a lot of light in. The flooring is the old Florentine terracotta, there is a small kitchenette with all the amenities necessary in a modern day kitchen. The bathroom has a shower and has all been finished with precious marble. The living area has been decorated with very unique antique Florentine furniture and some of the pieces are masterpieces of the old Florentine craftsmanship.

Seeing is believing how welcoming and beautiful this apartment is. The apartment is on the 3rd floor with no lift, so there are 70 steps, but it is all well worth the journey to this 'Medici jewel'. The location is exceptional, for you are stones throw to all the Florentine museums and important sites, shops, and bars and restaurants. The building itself is so centrally placed for it was said to have been built by one of the Medici for his French mistress.

Shopping, Sightseeing, Restaurants, Fitness Center/Gym, Health/Beauty Spa, Antiquing, Cinemas/Movie Theaters, Live Theatre, Museums.

This is the Florence you see in the postcards and glossy coffee table books. The Piazza Reppublica only a few blocks away, the Uffizi Gallery, the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio Bridge an easy 5 to 10 minute walk. Just few metres away are the famous Bargello National Museum and Dante's house. Going in the opposite direction, the Santa Maria Novella train station is an 10 minute walk. You are completely immersed in Florence historical area.

My stay in Florence with my boyfriend was the result of my participation in the Florence Biennale. The flat more than met our expectations of providing a lovely setting in which to entertain friends, both new and old. In fact, while staying here I ran into an old colleague from Oxford whom I had not seen in nearly a decade. So, in fact, this flat put my back in touch with an old friend, whom we had over for dinner! It's a grand Florentine pied a terre, not part of the normal tourist experience. We loved our stay and would return in a heartbeat! It's a stone's throw from everything you want to see in the heart of a real Florentine neighborhood off the tourist track. We highly recommend staying here! Thank you Frederica and Simone, and their new baby girl!

This is a great place to stay while in Florence. It is very centrally located and the apartment is quite spacious & homey. I will definitely come back and stay here the next time I'm in Florence. Simone & Frederica were quite accommodating. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. The one minor drawback for some people might be the stairs, but it was not an issue for us. Thanks for letting us stay in your beautiful apartment.

There can't be many apartments that boast a grand piano and an ornate original Florentine dining table in the itinery!
As long as you can manage the stairs up to the third floor, you will be rewarded with a wonderful base for your stay in Florence.
The apartment was spotlessly clean, everything worked and Simone runs through everything on arrival. He even had a nice bottle of wine and some essentials in the fridge as an extra welcome.
The location is spot on, easy 5-7min walking distance to the Duomo, Santa Croce and the Piazza della Signoria.
We hope to come again soon!

Nice, lofty and quiet

I stayed here Sept 09 for a few days. The location was perfect, the amenities also perfect. A little bit of a hike up the stairs to get to the apt (4 flights?) so if you have a lot of luggage be forewarned. It is right in the middle of everything, a very quick walk to all the sights. The neighbor was very helpful in getting me acquainted with the apt and the area (especially the pods for the espresso machine ;-) )

I would definitely stay here again, great location, clean, and quiet.

My husband and I stayed for five nights in May 2009. It was a refreshing change from usually cramped European hotel rooms, and a great combination of antique furniture and modern amenities.

You're two blocks from Vivoli and a short walk from anything else you want to see in Florence. Around the corner is the a shop with the best pastries and coffee. I wanted to transport it back to Atlanta with me.

Simone was a charming host and thoughtfully provided a welcome gift of wine and other beverages for us.

I would not hesitate to stay here on a return trip to Firenze.
