Quandary Peak much more than expected

Review Submitted: January 18, 2008 Date of Stay: December 2007
We were here for Christmas week 2007 during the ski season and had a fabulous time. We were attracted to the property by the photos on the web site showing beautiful scenery and the spacious well appointed home. However, the photos do not do this home justice! It is much more than we expected from the web site with snow covered mountains and the valley below visible through the huge picture windows in the living room, loft, and master suite. We enjoyed watching the birds at the feeders on the deck while sitting around the wood burning stove and my wife was right at home preparing Christmas dinner in the gourmet kitchen. Snow shoes are provided and the game room had lots of games, but we had so many other things to do we never got around to using them.

Although the owners suggested 4-wheel drive, we never really needed it and front wheel drive would likely be all that is required. The roads in the immediate vicinity of the property were cleared at least as well as the main roads in and out of Breckenridge.

There is a national forest with hiking / cross country trails within a few hundred yards of the house and we look forward to returning during the summer for hiking and fly fishing.

The lodge was a perfect experience for my entire family. With fantastic views of Quandary Peak and direct access to some of the best hiking, skiing, and numerous outdoor activities, there is something for everyone. The house boasts a perfect location with just a short drive from Breckenridge. The lodge is comfortable and elegant, truly a marvelous abode. My family and I highly recommend this rental, we would come back in a heart beat.

Unbelievable Views and Elegance

Review Submitted: July 10, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
This place is definitely a MUST stay if you are thinking about visiting Summit County. Our family prefers to be out of town a bit...out of the crowd...and this definitely fit the bill. There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out and be very comfortable in this cabin. It is beautifully decorated and well equipped for cooking and relaxing. Very comfortable and tastefully elegant. The quiet neighborhood and cul-de-sac location made it perfect for privacy. We brought our bikes for mountain biking and exploring. Also a hike up the 14er out the back window (Quandary Peak) ...not to mention some fishing and ATV rentals nearby. Its location is close enough to Breckenridge to make it easy to run and get some groceries or explore the town. The scenery is phenomenal! With all to do up in the mountains, we opted to just stay home one of our days and enjoy the splendor of the location. It was perfect! The cabin has a front row seat of Quandary Peak...no kidding! You are practically there. Sitting out in the hot-tub after a day of hiking was so nice as well. All in all...this was an unbeatable experience for some summer fun. Don't miss out on this one! We'll absolutely be back! :)

Fantastic House!!!!!

I have to say that this place is the best house I have rented for any kind of holiday purpose. The location is amazing with spectacular views that kept us commenting all week. The house is huge and seems to go on and on with plenty of room to stretch out. The sound system in the living room was great....we just plugged our ipod into the receiver. The hot tub is the best I have seen......not just some cheap thing on the deck. It was indeed very popular at 6 degrees outside, we marveled at how warm it was in the water........the PERFECT treatment after a long day of skiing. The kitchen was nice.....those heated tiles in the morning just can't be beat. There was even a Krupps coffee pot! My overall impression of this house was how fine it was. Rustic but of the best quality! It's filled with unique woodwork that is just gorgeous! What a pleasure to come home to everyday!!!!! I really hated to leave! Kudos to the designers and owners!!!!!

I will definitely come back to THIS house!!!!!

Quandary peak in late June

14er Dallas, TX
Review Submitted: June 28, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
This place is fantastic and the owners are great. When we arrived the hot tub did not work. We called them and they had a brand new delivered the next day.

The views, the ammenities, and the privacy were incredible. The back porch looks over Quandary peak, a 14,265 ft peak that is a great climb. We did it a took pictures of the house from the climb. If you do the climb, leave early in the day to avoid the afternoon thunder showers. It is well worth it. There are many other less strenuous climbs very close to the house. McCullough Gulch is shorter, lower and very beautiful. The recreational opportunities are endless. As much as we loved the house, don't stay in it much!

The one thing you need to know is the elevation. If you are not used to it, breathing is definitely an issue. It is way above the toiwn of Breckenridge.

Overall this was a great place to have a family reunioun and we would not hesitate to rent from them again.

Marty, Lara, and extended family

Majestic Mountain Retreat

This is truly an outstanding residence. All aspects of the property description are valid, including the need for a 4WD vehicle in the winter months. This is a spacious, secluded, romantic mountain retreat fit for the Dali Lama, or those who simply want to experience the magniificent Breckenridge / Summit County environs without spending their time in a cramped condo in town. Community and home are very new and well maintained. All property and home details were fully available and one did not lack for anythng (including wireless internet); the customer service was exceptional, as was the hot tub. I would recommend this property to anyone who does not mind a 12-15 minute (~ 8.5 miles) drive into town. Looking forward to return visit in the summer.

Upon entering the house I knew we had made a perfect choice on our rental property. This home is fantastic! The pictures do not do it justice. The lower level goes on and on. The house was fully equiped with all the things 2 families iwht teens could need. The hotub was warm and the house was toaty. The only thing you might want to know is that there is only one TV--in the lower game room. WE didn't miss it one day we just enjoyed the view of the peak from the main living area and watched the fire burn. I would go back everyweekend if I could.

Breathtaking Home

Bourlon Austin, TX USA
Review Submitted: January 17, 2008 Date of Stay: January 2008
This house was everything my wife and I could have asked for and much more. The views are simply unreal. No picture could do them justice. The house is situated in prime real estate where it is very private and tucked away. Heated floors, spa, whirpool tub, satellite tv and internet. Even an espresso machine. This place will over deliver.
