The home is located on a 40 foot knoll overlooking Plentiful Creek on Lake Anna, which is a pristine freshwater lake located 60 miles NW of Richmond VA. It is a perfect lake for swimming, boating and fishing, or just watching the early morning sunrise over a cup of coffee. There is an abundance of deck space on the house, two acres of lawn with brick patio and plenty of area for exercising your dogs. A boat house (8+ feet deep at the dock) with large screen room and sun-deck for your private use. The home is located in a small subdivision with quiet roads for walking or running. Each bedroom is furnished in a different motif for your enjoyment. The lake is 18 miles long with 250 miles of shoreline. Perfect place to bring your recreational boat or bass boat for Striped Bass, Largemouth Bass, Crappie and Catfish. The home is a short 1:15 hr ride to many antiquing venues and 49 Virginia vineyards. Located 90 minutes south of Dulles International Airport.

Historical Areas: The cities of Richmond (Virginia State Capitol Building, the Robert E. Lee Residence and the Museum of the Confederacy), Charlottesville (Monticello and the University of Virginia) and Fredericksburg (Fredericksburg National Cemetery and Mary Washington College) all provide excellent day trips to points of historical interest. A 1.5 hr drive takes you to the George Washington Birthplace National Monument on the Northern Neck. Williamsburg, VA and the Colonial National Historic Park (Jamestown and Yorktown) are a 2 hr drive.

Civil War Sites: The Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park, the Chancellorsville National Military Park and The Wilderness National Military Park are all located within 30 minutes. The Cold Harbor Battlefield and the Petersburg National Battlefield are located in the Richmond/Petersburg area.

Special Interest Recreation: Kings Dominion (45 minutes) and Busch Gardens (2 hours)

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us, we had a wonderful time. We have stayed in a lot of different places and your home is by far our favourite. It is warm and welcoming and has so many little extras that just make it so special. Most houses give you the feeling that you are staying in a rental property. We never felt that way, it was like being a guest. I don't know if anyone ever comments on the extra's that you have but I thought i would let you know some of the things that we really enjoyed and appreciated about your home.

- allowing us to take our dog. 1st vacation ever and first boat ride! She loved it
- the ice machine
-very comfortable deck furniture
-washer and dryer ....I have 4 children...not coming home to a ton of laundry and doing laundry in the new washer and dryer was very nice.
-master bath shower and bathtub with light (very relaxing)
-tv in basement so that you can have a quiet conversation upstairs.
-boathouse.
-how spacious the kitchen and dining area are
-decorations, family photos, games, quilts the overall warm home feeling

Scrapbooking Heaven

We had 9 ladies at the house for a four day scrapbooking getaway. The house was perfect. The view is beautiful. There is plenty of sleeping space (each of the 9 ladies had their own bed!) and the house is furnished beautifully. You could easily have several families stay at this house. Although we were there in the fall, there appeared to be lots of activities for young and old alike. We hope to be able to return next year!

Recommended for: Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

We had our whole family stay at this wonderfully appointed house. We really enjoyed our time and te view was amazing. We found excellent food at Obrigado's in Louisa. What a great time. Our only complaint was the Direct TV was not working, but will be fixed (satelite problem). Of course that pushed us out onto the amazing deck and boat house.

Recommended for: Adventure Seekers, Pet-friendly, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
