Honeymoon

Review Submitted: September 22, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
Thank you for inviting us into your slice of heaven.

It was the romantic getaway that we dreamed of.

Your condo is very nicely updated. Star market provided the best fresh fish and Poke. The Chocolat Coconut Porter from Maui Brewing Company was a real treat. The beach at Kapalua was awsome and the Old Lahaina Luau was not only spectacular but a very cultural experience. You can catch the local surfers in action by the Lahaina Harbor.

Lahaina Fish Company became our favorite place for dinner providing us with the most flavorfull seafood dishes.
Local fisherman actually walk to fish from the boat to the restaurant for the freshest taste ever.

The Sea House at Kapalua has an excellent happy hour with $5.00 Pupu's.

Your Property was very clean, cozy and well maintained.
The desk receptionists were all nice with a warm welcome.
We will recommend you vacation property to our friends and family.

AND YES WE WILL BE BACK SUMMER 2011

This was the 2nd time we have stayed in this condo and it is so nice. The furnishings are nicely updated which makes you feel more at "home". Also, the fact that it is a corner unit offers amazing views! The air conditioner worked which is great! I only bring this up because my mom, sister and grandma stayed in a "penthouse" condo right upstairs from us and their air conditioning did not work and never got fixed the whole week we were there!
Awsome, awsome place and we will definitely be going back, possibly next summer!!

Maui Perfection

Bob & Liz San Jose, CA
Review Submitted: July 5, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
A beautifully furnished and very comfortable condo with stunning views of the ocean and the Maui sunsets between Lanai and Molokai, made our vacation perfect. The grounds at Papakea are beautifully maintained and we enjoyed our long walks on the beach every morning. The kitchen is beautifully equipped and made our quick meals easy to prepare for the all-important and nightly sunset viewing. Love the comfortable trades wafting through our bedroom at night. All in all, a wonderfully restful retreat. Thank you, Linda & Scott, for providing a beautiful vacation option.

Wow, just... WOW!

RE-Honeymoon Olympia, WA
Review Submitted: May 13, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
The price was right, the view was good (but weather hazy most of the time on this visit). We saw sea turtles EVERY MORNING from the kitchen looking straight out. Plenty of amenities, a nice flat screen TV in the living room (Not that I ever turned it on, promise), books, beautiful art, new appliances, and a even a spotting scope was available for us.

We've stayed at the Papakea before, but this room was far and above our expectations. There is an elevator close to the room if your wife brings too much luggage, but I didn't notice it at first 8'(.

Honestly, it couldn't have been better unless it was free, and well, if your remotely successful, you know that NOTHING is free. We are already making plans to return next year to this same unit!

Perfect location, especially if you love to shop, or just take in the sights. Shopping was 10 min. south, and beautiful views 10 min North. We even saw wild dolphins roaming a bay about 20 min north.

While the Papakea doesn't have the best beach, Kapalua beach is just a mile or two up the road, and the room came with a cooler! Just pack your cooler and your beach bag and head to one of the top beaches in the world if you need beach time! The bay there is awesome for snorkeling filled w/ all kinds of fish ranging from small fish, cleaner wrasse (I finally saw them in the wild working on a giant puffer!), unicorn fish, white spotted damsel, HumuHumu triggers, surgeon fish, and tons more. There was even a couple of eels!

This room really helped to make our Re-Honeymoon right. Our first honeymoon we were scheduled at an awful place, but we decided to give Maui a fair shot. We are so glad we did.

THANKS for providing us such a great place to stay!

The Perfect Vacation

Jamie's Mom Washington
Review Submitted: February 21, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
My family had stayed at the Papakea Resort before and absolutely loved the place. It's quiet, beautiful, friendly and very relaxing. After 20 years of raising our family, we decided to take our first vacation alone and we knew exactly where we wanted to stay. This unit was perfect!!! There was nothing I would have changed. It is in a great location; all you hear are the waves. We spent so much time just sitting on the lanai watching the whales. One day a monk seal decided to sunbathe right in front of the condo! We only ate out once because we enjoy using the barbeques around the pool and then eating on the lanai watching the sunsets. There's a great farmers' market within walking distance. Also, you can walk to the market, video rental store, ice cream shop and snorkel equipment rental store. I had run in the Run For The Whales 5K race while we were there, which is put on by the Pacific Whale Foundation. They put on such a great race that we decided to take one of their whale watching trips out of Lahaina. It was amazing! You don't realize how large those whales are until they are right next to the boat. If you only choose to do one thing while on Maui, you have to go to the Warren & Annabelle Magic Show in Lahaina. We made reservations before leaving home because they sell out nightly. My husband and I were one of four couples chosen to sit up front and be a part of the show. We are still talking about that night; it is unlike any magic show I have ever seen. We highly recommend it! Each time we visit Maui we make sure that we go to the Saturday Swap Meet at the Maui Community College. It's a great place to pick up souvenirs and Hawaii-made items. We also visit Julia's Banana Bread stand along the winding west Maui road. There was a line of people and we were afraid we might not get any bread. But there was plenty of warm, tasty banana bread. My husband and I had such a great time that we've already made reservations for next year.

Our most perfect Maui holiday yet!

Review Submitted: January 31, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2008
We have stayed on Maui 3 previous times in another part of the island, however this was by far our best stay. This corner condo gave us perfect sunset views every night and the owners have done a beautiful job with the remodel. We felt very comfortable while in the condo - it had everything we needed. We loved the easy access to shops (by car or foot) for anything needed. Lahaina/Kaanapali a short drive away as well as Napili/Kapalua. The Papakea grounds are immaculate and add to the whole atmosphere of your tropical getaway - we loved grilling fresh fish on the gas grills. The owner was very quick to respond to our inquiries and offered many suggestions on what to do in the area. Would we stay at Papakea in this condo again - definitely yes!

Fabulous oceanfront rental unit

You just can't get much closer to the ocean. The sound of the waves can be heard from every room. The corner location of the unit makes for optimal sunset viewing. The unit was recently (summer of 2008) remodeled throughout the main living areas. They did a really great job and it definitely has a tropical feel. The grounds of Papakea area beautiful and there's a grocery store and farmer's market within walking distance. We had a very relaxing, nice vacation, and were able to easily entertain some family staying in nearby unit several times for dinner.
