About Mike & Jessica

Hi,

Thanks for viewing this site for our condo.

We have been visiting the Caribbean for many years and in our travels have been to 16 of the Caribbean Islands. In all that time we had never considered purchasing until we came to the Turks and Caicos Islands. We fell in love with Coral Gardens and beautiful Grace Bay. We were the first to buy at Coral Gardens and as such we had our choice of all the units. Naturally we think we chose the best one.

Lovely condo, beautiful views

The views are stunning! The condo is well appointed with comfortable furnishings. Being able to open all the doors made us feel as if we were living outside. We only turned on the air conditioner one night when the music from the restaurant next door (Somewhere) was extremely loud and we wanted to go to bed early. To be fair, the music did stop by 10:00 pm. Because of rough seas and some erosion on the beach from a tropical storm last fall, there were several mornings when high tide prevented us from getting on the beach until noon. Jerome on the Coral Gardens staff managed the beach accommodations beautifully, but on his day off the service was not as good. Because of the high winds the first full day that we were there (Sunday), the thatched umbrellas were disassembled and not restored until Thursday. This caused a lack of shade on the beach (only six collapsible umbrellas for many units). The staff in the office were very helpful in making dinner and tour recommendations and responded to our concerns over the shade on the beach. While were there, we experienced a strong easterly current in the water near the shore which concerned us and made snorkeling a bit difficult. The reef in front of Coral Gardens is one of two near-shore reefs in Grace Bay and attracts many people from other resorts. This makes the beach a busy place, but probably no busier than the larger resorts down the beach. This is a well-maintained property. We had lunch at Somewhere restaurant on the property. Great fish tacos and the "Frozen Bikini" drinks were refreshing.

Unit is exactly as described if not better, photos don't do it full justice. Mike was fantastic to deal with throughout the entire process and the on site staff (Rochelle in particular) could not have been nicer or more helpful.

Location is perfect with easy short drive to most popular dining & beaches.

It completely lived up to our expectations and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. We will certainly look to return.

This Condo is everything that it shows itself to be. Beautiful, laid out nice, best view, convenient to beach, Somewhere Cafe and of course the snorkeling on Grace Bay. Owners are great host and walk the extra mile to help make your trip an experience to remember. Two couples went on this trip and everyone hated to leave. Will come back again and again.

Fabulous place

The condo was everything the pictures showed. It was too hot and humid to open the patio doors, but the view was spectacular. The second floor afforded the best view. I would not have wanted to be on the first floor. The beach was great and we spent most of every day on it, swimming and snorkling that great reef. It was like a lazy river in deep, clear water circling the roped off area. We had lunch every day on the balcony. We did not have a rental car but did rent a car one day to see the rest of the island. Cabs to the IGA and restaurants were expensive ($50 + tip each trip), but we felt we were ahead of what we spent on a rental last year in St. Kitts. We ate in many fine restaurants, Coco Bistro, Coyaba, Bace and Stelle. The other nights we ate at Somewhere where the food was excellent. Jerome on the beach was very friendly and had our chairs set up each day. Matthew in the office was very helpful also. We would consider going back again. The only negative was the noise from Somewhere. The bands they had stopped by 9:30 but there were many nights when the boisterous bar hangers continued drinking and getting louder. I don't think those peope were staying at Coral Gardens, they just walked (I hope) from other resorts. Overall it was a wonderful ten day vacation.

This place sits right on the water, so close you can throw a stone to the water from the balcony. We had a great time exploring the coral reef that sits directly out front of Coral Gardens. Somewhere Cafe has excellent food with great prices. It is extremely convenient having Somewhere cafe there and the sunsets on the roof of Somewhere are the best place to watch it with a drink. Gerome on the beach is the best. If you stay in room 1202 it feels like you are right on the water without having to walk up to the 3rd floor. I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends.

Perfect Holiday on Grace Bay (literally)

Fabulous condo - we would say best location on Grace Bay - you should make more of how close to the beach it is. Well equipped, loving furnishings, spotlessly clean. The view is to die for!!! If there is a downside - you need a car at Coral Gardens - which we had - so great. Eating out expensive but Caicos Cafe should have a michelin star for fine dining. Would love to return to the tropical paradise but it is a long long journey from the UK.

Magical Experience

My husband and I rented this unit last week and this unit is ideally situated both within Coral Gardens and on Grace Bay. The stack back doors go all the way across the front and the sides of the open living area. The living area is already large but with the doors stacked back, this unit becomes huge. The view is incredible and this property is very close to the actual sand. I would rent this unit again and again. Daily housekeeping service is included which was very nice. The bartenders and servers at the Somewhere cafe on the property were very friendly and fun. You can walk from this unit down the beach to other places to eat (or imbibe) very easily. And the snorkeling right there on the reef is incredible. Grace Bay is beautiful but make sure you drive down the road where Chalk Sound is located. Gorgeous. Turtle Tail and Long Bay are worth the trip too. I could go on and on. But, bottom line....stay here. You will not be disappointed unless you are looking for a more isolated experience. If you are, rent a villa on the other side of the island.

The Best of Grace Bay....continued

We have stayed at numerous VRBO privately owned condos throughout the Caribbean, US (including Hawaii), Mexico and Canada. Typically, we prefer to try a different location if we return to the same island or destination. With all of our vacation adventures throughout our travels, this is the first time we have stayed at the same condo on our 4th return trip to T&C. The unit is directly on the surf of Grace Bay with the warm ocean breeze welcoming you with your morning coffee or after dinner cocktail. The marine park reef is direclty out front of the building and we took advantage of numerous snorkel trips each day.Sea turltes, stingrays, eagle rays and the numerous variety of tropical fish await you. The unit is well maintained and stocked with all of the modern essentials. The owner's are very accommodating with local info and recommendations for those who have yet to explore the 11 mile long beach of Grace Bay and the island of Providenciales. The condo is much larger compared to other units we have stayed at in Grace Bay. The 2nd floor corner location allows you to see & hear the live mellow tunes from Somewhere Cafe 3 evenings a week or gaze at the constellation each evening, something we sorely lack living in a metro area. It always brings back wonderful memories for both of us and we are sure you will feel the same staying at this unit.......For additional info/comments, see our review from Nov/10......"a Couple of Canucks"

A wonderful break

I stayed at the condo with my parents and wife this November and think it is a wonderful spot. The apartment has fantastic views onto Grace Bay and is nicely furnished with everything you could need. It was spotless and the retractable doors onto the balcony mean you can open the whole place up allowing the sea breeze in. It is a good size and the set up allows two couple to have their privacy while also sharing the space. The actual resort is well managed and the Somewhere bar is one of the best and most refreshingly 'Caribbean' bars / restaurants on the beach, the food is great.
We ate in most evenings and I would recommend a car to really enjoy Turks.
Overall a great stay

40th Birthday

Submitted: November 21, 2011 Stayed: October 2011
My husband and I spent 4 days in this wonderful condo for his 40th birthday. The condo is beautiful, updated, open, comfortable and spacious. The view is one of the best I have ever seen! The deck wraps around the unit with glass and all you can see are the blue waters of Grace Bay. If you leave the sliding glass doors open you can hear the waves all night long! The helpful staff makes you feel right at home. The staff was there for anything we needed - cabs, restaurant suggestions, extra towels, snorkeling gear, setting up our beach chairs - anything! We spent most of our time at the beach in front of Coral Gardens. We loved the beautiful reef right outside the unit. We spent a lot of time snorkeling - amazing tropical fish and even a turtle! What we really loved was how close the unit is to so many wonderful restaurants. Each night we walked to a different restaurant via the beach! This condo is really a magical place. We both really relaxed at Coral Gardens and in our busy lives it was a true pleasure. The owners were very nice and accommodating. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
